this was pretty surreal to watch live, it was like 100 ft from my brothers house. we were asked to evacuate the neighborhood as they thought their could be airborne chemicals, but it wasn't mandatory to leave, so I stayed behind and also got some good pics/video. the flames were approx. 200ft in the air, it was unforgettable!
this is breath taking. my moms friend was evacuated from his building near this and as soon as he got out of his building, he saw this one blow up!! no lie. thats super bad. a couple days after it my mom bro and i went to see what was left of it and it was still glowing with half the building down...it was crazy.
Check this out, click here,, when the music starts, play the video with volume all the way down. this is my music video hahaha, i made that song, when i worked there. and everything is the truth
I was even gonna call oscha cause i knew it had to be doin us dirty, but i guess what goes around comes around, but then again he got what he wanted his money back for that shythole.
Back in the day it was General Industries, then closed down, decades later it became InnoTech and then closed due to lack of funds, then reopened under J tech, and employed roughly about 10 to 12 people, at a time, I worked there briefly for 2 or 3 monthes, then i got laid off, But bossman, did not pay mininum wage, did not pay overtime, I got paid 6.50 and hour, this was this year, when M/W was raised to 7.15/hr, had us fill out a w-9 which means were self contracted thru him and have to pay...
Above is a link to a fire in Paris texas, This is what firefighters do, anyone that witnessed a firefighter fighting a fire like this in elyria was not at the general industries fire, This is what should have been done when it was a fire on the shipping dock
My father worked for 35 years in this building before it closed... This building had a major influence on the city and regardless of all your conspiracy theories, it is sad to see it go... I went to pre-school around the corner... (although I could have SWORN there was a firehouse about 200 feet away)..
The building was not just an old empty building! People worked there to feed there family not to mention what about the other businesses affected there is a rippling affect that happens. So maybe that building did have a purpose to employee a few and feed a lot.Yes it was inevitable
I cannot believe that anyone could doubt the fire department's decision to save the homes and business nearby, rather than using their energy to save a 100+ year old empty building.
not doubting their decision to save houses, doubting their overall competence, the fire was called in at 1:40, water was not put on the fire until well after 2:30, the fire could have been contained, this building being tore down is what the fire department has always wanted, they saw a chance to get this and took it
The fire dept said a year ago that if that building ever caught on fire, they would not attempt to put it out, only protect the buildings and homes around it. They did exactly what they said they would do. Alot of things could have been saved if the fire had been put out at the loading dock where it started and the fire dept wouldn't have even had to go inside to do it.
Im not doubting the firefighters, They showed what they can do, Not much, To bad the bar next door lost power they could have all sat down for a drink while it burned, Would have been good times they could have all invited family over and had hot dogs, They did not save any homes, they sat around praying that none of them caught fire which luckily none of them did or they would have had to watch 2 fires at once and that would be alot to do
The Elyria fire department is good for nothing, they sent a dude in a suv when my dad called and said the building was on fire, over 10 minutes later the fire department got there and the fire hydrant had no water in it, they watched it spread till it couldnt be faught, I feel bad for anyone in Elyria cause if you have a house fire your gonna lose everything, Worst firefighters ever, what a Joke that city is
It is a shame that the building caught on fire. I`m from around there and I`m going to miss seeing the building. All the memories that the building had and now it is gone. No it is not a good thing the building is gone, as one person was saying. It at one time really did serve much purpose. I am going to miss driving by and seeing it. Now that it is gone really nothing will take its place. Goodbye old building!
I live in that area, if you go the direction next to there where the electric place is, turn, then go right the area where ridge tool is, keep going, then go right, and keep going, thats where I am. There is still smoke.
Ok, who has the hot dogs and who has the marshmallows? Let's eat!
And as Eddie Murphy once said in his standup act, "Now THAT'S a fire!!!"

This could have been contained to one end of this building its terrible they let it get like that

it may be a good thing that the building is gone...it didn't really serve much purpose and hopefully something more useful can be put in its place
