@StopSpamming1 What he means is that we do not worship the way the non-Muslims worship God. If they are singing we shouldn't participate with that as we don't believe that's how we are supposed to worship God (Allaah). We have our own way of worshiping God, and we may do that in a Church if there are no images/sculptures,etc.

the player of a chess is like aperson who eats the swine and who watches them play it is like who covers his hands in the blood of the swine

Buraida reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: He who played chess is like one who dyed his hand with the flesh and blood of swine.

@NoSugar85 what do u mean it doesn't mention anything about chess, it says in arabic in the hadith, the person who plays is chess is like this person who eats the blood of the swine and the person who watches them is like those who put their hands in the blood of the swine

that is the literal translation of the hadith

so it is clear that it existed at the time of hte prophet

Abd-Allaah ibn Umar (ra) was asked about chess and he said: It is worse than dice.

and the son of khalifah umar says CHESS IS WORSE THAN DICE. keep in mind he got his kknowledge of people of the time who got their knowledge directly from the prophet

It was narrated that, Ali ibn Abi Taalib (ra) passed by some people who were playing chess. He said, What are these images, to which you are devoted? [cf. al-Anbiya 21:52]

so there you have it

@NoSugar85 Many of the great Muslim scholars have clearly stated the prohibition and non-permissibility of chess. Imam Malik RA said that it is worse than the game of nard (backgammon, which is also haram) and more destructive than gambling.

Hadhrat Ali May Allah be pleased with him also said:

Chess is gambling of the Ajam people (non Arabs)

"Playing chess is polytheism, holding a chess pawn is like touching pork ...

looking at it is as hateful and forbidden as looking at the private parts of one's mother!!!'

@NoSugar85 the hadith in arabic that is above in the comments is the hadith regarding chess, not just dice. it is only about chess. direct hadith about chess
