At the beginning of Cosmic Luigi races, here's a speed boost:

Right when the timer begins, hold forward on the Nunchuck. When it hits 2, hold Z on the Nunchuck. Right when the timer switches to "GO!", press A. Luigi will turn yellow and you will have a speed boost.

heres some more info and barely challenged, adding to his superior personality with no one to go against it.

Once the game is beaten with one hundred and nineteen Shine Sprites or less, the ending screen will show Il Piantissimo finding Bowser Jr.'s Magic Paintbrush. This alludes to the possibility that he took it. In Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Shadow Mario is playable. A likely possibility is that this is Il Piantissimo wearing the disguise, as Bowser Jr. is also playable in the game.

Piantissimo is very overconfident, and finds himself superior to others. According to various locals at Pianta Village, he is considered a rogue, a creep, and not related to the Piantas. This could show that due to his attitude, he is left alone

Shadow Mario paints openings into anything to get to various places. The Cosmic Comet crashes on the galaxy and Cosmic Mario goes around looking for someone to race.

And wouldn't the Cosmics be carrying the Brush? When ever you try to catch Shadow Mario, he'd run around with a brush. Also, why would II Piantissimo make a trail of black smoke-like fog where ever he would run. (The fog (or whatever it is) does disappear right after the first 3 to 6 steps or less.)

Because he needs it to turn into Shadow Mario or Cosmic Mario or Cosmic Luigi. Bowser Jr. needs the brush to turn into Shadow Mario because just wearing the bib he carries around on his neck won't turn him into Shadow Mario.

The thing is that Shadow Mario isn't necessarily Cosmic Mario. It's shown at the end of Mario Sunshine that Il Piantissimo stumbled across Junior's paintbrush, but no one really knows what he did with it.

ok, ll piantissimo found the brush, and these things could have been the outcome:

he accidently encased himself in grafiti, killing himself,

a blob of graffiti fell on him, turning him into a clone of shadow mario (cosmic)

he decided to use the brush to get revenge on mario, painted up a comet to travel on and rushed into outer space to plot his next move when he found mario and raced him (most likely outcome)

*sigh* Comic Luigi's a pain. The forest one takes a while to find all of the fastest routes to take to ensure victory...but I think that the underwater one at Sea Slide Galaxy is the most difficult.

I tried walking aong the edge of the water, though I keep falling off. Theoretically, it should be the fastest way. (The water in Sea Slide is held within a weird blue wall that Mario and Luigi can walk on.)

Luigi runs faster and jumps higher than Mario, though only slightly in both cases. However, Luigi slips and slides around a lot, making him a pain to precisely control.
