The vintage portion of your "collection of photos" came from other folk's web sites. You could have at least acknowledged those sources in your credits instead of representing their photos as your own.
@ livenbwell - what we refer to as "downtown" Warren is that area on Mound between 13 and 14 Mile, the historic district. If you live there, you should know that...
I've got news for you. The south end is creeping up to Shelby, Macomb Twp., and so on. It's not just Warren. Now that the wanna be wealthy cannot afford their mini mansions on 1 income they either have to sell it for pennies on the dollar or walk away from it. Guess who's going to buy it. The family from the south end who can now afford it because they realize that their rent is more then the house payment is. So you just spent all of your money to get away from what is going to move in.
Every city has areas that are less desirable then others, I'll blame most of that on the large amount of rental properties in the south end. You mention cookie cutter houses. Just because the city is not loaded with 3000+ square foot homes doesn't mean it's a shit hole. What corruption are you speaking about? Every city in this country has police situations on the news for so called abuse. Some are true but most are the liberal media looking for ratings. This is not a bad place.
warren is turning in2 detroit.. 8 mile to 11mile is centerline.warren is 11mile to 14 mile and sterling heights is 14 mile to 20 mile which is where i live
Check your facts before you post: Warren was home to the The Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant and it was the first manufacturing plant ever built for the mass production of tanks in the United States. Established in 1940 under Chrysler, this plant was owned by the U.S. government until 1996. It was designed by architect Albert Kahn, and the site was 113 acres. It's part of Warren's history.
This is a great video. Got a little home sick watching it. Grew up on Westminster 28 years of my life. Somethings i remember and some before my time. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. :)
I grew up in north west Roseville (went to Fraser schools), and now I live one block from downtown. Downtown Warren is more alive than it has ever been, this video shows how far we've come (in some regards, anyway). I don't know that 9 Mile & Van Dyke is better now, though.
I grew up in Warren during the 1960's (12 Mile & Hoover). I remember the Bel-Air drive in. It was on the Detroit side of Eight Mile Road.

I've been to the Bel-Air a few times but isn't it actually in Detroit since it's across 8 Mile? I guess that area is called Conant Gardens.
