  • why....WHY WAS I NOT BORN WHEN THIS WAS MADE??? whyyy???

  • This is stunning and outstanding and breathtaking all at once. Oh Lea you magnificent being!

  • I saw her play Kim a day before Miss Saigon closed...The best Kim EVER!! I've seen Miss Saigon 4 times and she by far owns Kim! Amazing, amazing, amazing!

  • this is a masterpiece!!!!

how could someone so sing perfectly live?!

    she's not human!

  • 30 dislikes? what's there to dislike in Miss Lea Salonga's performances, which is almost always to perfection!! Amazing talent!!

  • I love her voice. :)

  • I hope she gets her wish (and mine) to do Eve Peron in Evita.

  • @rcorrino ? is it? whoaw! that's another big role, il pray for her, hope she gets it!

  • wow, for years I've been a big fan of Miss Saigon, this is the first time I heard this song, it's amazing, it should have een on the soundtrack.

  • @SLAWVEY123 I actually don't remember this from the tour I saw. I wonder this wasn't put on the sound track?

  • @Jyihomichiru It was cut from the show in workshops, but the tune became the basis for the duet between Kim and John, "Please."

  • @KekoaOnorati I have to admit I still like "please" better, but I absolutely love this song too.

  • I LOVE this song, so VERY VERY MUCH!!!

  • excuse me, where did u download her song? My mother and I love her songs. My mom is a pinoy, my dad is chinese so that makes me half pinoy, even though i'm half, her songs were beautiful!

  • this is live??? get out of here!! no for real???? WOW!! lea really is a great singer!! makes me even more proud to be filipino

  • In addition to performing in musical theater and recordings, Salonga hosted her own musical television show, Love, Lea

  • @daguerreotypejfi I do too

  • Simply beautiful.

  • We're doing a performance of this with the official score and I have a CD recording, and neither include this song. Whatttt?????

  • @misswoopa i believe this song was supposedly included but it was cut during the actual play (i was able to watch an interview/performance of Lea Salonga wherein she explains why this wasn't included)

  • @misswoopa it was deleted from the show and was replaced by the song "Please" a duet between Kim and John.

  • lea is the best... unbeatable....

  • OMG this is live version? She is unreal.

  • yup, it is live, one of her concerts here Manila

  • Beautiful!

  • wow..im..speechless to her voice.

  • omg these blokes really know to write. the music is the very definition of stunning. STUNNING!!

  • Never heard this from the original CD...wasnt this suppose to be "Please"?

  • This was not included in the actual run of the show and cast recording. Lea says so on her broadway concert dvd.. Can actually hear the applause after the song.

  • It was replaced with "Please". Lea sang this at one of her concerts.

  • Comment removed

  • WOW!!!!!!!!

  • where..online?

  • I remember listening to this over and over again a couple years ago. Now I'm listening to it for the first time in a while and I'm like, "STILL LOVE IT!!!!""

  • This is the lovely companion of Schoenberg and Boulil's "On My Own" from Les Mis.

  • Almost all the comments have thumbs up! The music music bring out the good in you all :)

  • Wow, beautiful. :)

  • beautiful! just beautiful!

  • Lea is still the best Miss Saigon ever.

  • @splendorjohn

there is another one called "Shawna", i think, one of the Kims of the same play...she has a voive similar to hers,,, maybe a bit clearer...but she's just good for an audio material...she lacks emotions...but the voice is really great too

  • is lea still doing Miss Saigon and Les Miserables??I hope she still does..I want to watch her T_T.. I willn ot watch Miss Saigon or Les Miserables if it is not her.

  • She was Fantine in Les Mis a couple of years ago.

  • @tonymedenilla that means u love her not the musical itself...

  • @tonymedenilla lol she was in miss saigon when she was 18, she's fantine in les miserables on broadway now :)

  • A friend sent me this video. A few weeks ago, I didn't know Lea. This song and her voice give me thrills. If you feel like keeping on dreaming, the making of Miss Saigon full video is on my channel.

  • powerful stuff

  • I love this song..

  • Beautiful talent.. one of, if not, the BEST our country has ever had!

  • never fails to make a lump in my throat and bring tears to my eyes... such beauty in this song by a mom for her kids!

  • i love this....

    great LEA!!!

  • So beauiful. I guess they cut it and just put ''Please '' in as a duet for Kim and John instead. One of my favorite in the show to sing.

  • pllleeease could i have the mp3 of this song???? I will be forever grateful!!!!

    i think im in love!!

  • Linda, linda, melodia e execelente interpretação

  • great voice clear voice,,,,,,

  • Outside there is a war, in here the night is still. the jasmine buds have bloomed, the way the jasmine will. And i have given birth to a speckle of dust, to a sparkle of light to a small hint of life. Frail as a flower in the morning is this tiny work of art when i see his face before me this is too much for one heart
  • If you want the mp3 for this song, give me your e-mail adress please =]

  • oooo oooo if the offer is still going i would love this beautiful song please!

  • Wow, that is so beautiful.

  • this song is so beautiful. and i agree the lyrics ARE amazing. it really shows how much Kim loved chris and how she would really kill herself for her son, the image of her lover.

  • i dobrze, świat stał się bliższy

  • Me too! May I please, please have the mp3 and the sheet music? Where can I get more sheet music than what is available in the regular songbook? And where is this extra music available since it isn't on any Saigon CDs?

  • Why wasn't this added in the musical? It's so beautiful :(

  • i'd love a copy of this anyone?!!

  • I have this sheet music, stumbled onto it by accident, lol.

  • oh please can I have it? I would be forever in your debt.

  • hey whoever sent that mp3 could you esnd it to me too?

  • that would be great. i sent you a message, let me know if you didn't get it

  • Oh my god..........

I "sent" it to you. sorry for my poor English...

I have bad cold now. please, understand me..

  • hey does anyone have the mp3 for this song?

  • I have. Do you need it? Can I send it to you?

  • pls pls pls me too :((

  • sorry but when does the song "to much for one heart" appear In miss saigon? it isn't on the complete recording did they add it in later on?

  • this song was replaced by "Please"

right before the musical came out...

i personally think they should have kept it.

it shows us more of Kim's love for Tam...

but i guess.."I'd give My Life for You" does that too...lol

  • before "please"? But Please is sung by John and Kim and before it comes "what a waste" did you mean before "bui doi" ? and they replaced it with "I'd give my life for you."

    that would make more sense

  • she means that this song is replaced by please...you know....same melody...but different lyrics...

  • oh yes I get it know thanks!

  • no...it was not in the musical at all.

"Too much for one heart" was REPLACED by "Please" when the musical was still being made and rehearsed.

The melody of both the songs are the same but it's sung by Kim and John and the words were change....

lea salonga sang "Too much for one heart" in her concerts cause she liked the song even though it ended up not being part of Miss Saigon.

  • btw...i'm chocolate221...

    lol...different account...

  • ah I see it has a great mellady this song dosen't it?! You can also here it in the song "Chris is here." When Kim and The Engineer are singing

  • I know I've commented before ... but God I love this piece

  • Beautiful song by a beautiful talented singer. Saw Lea in concert in Hawaii earlier this year, really fantastic

  • i have seen miss siagon 8 times i cry each time, great to hear the music again

  • this should have made the cut, its so beautiful... makes me cry

  • nice. pero maganda din ang Please ha. kaso maganda din to. sana it will come out on lea´s album. nandun na ba?

  • oh geez. i soo love this song! its soo sad that such song with so much to speak for didnt make the cut.

  • where is that song from??? i love it but it's not on my CD (although it should be the complete london-cast recording)! can anyone send it to me? PLEASE!!!!!!!!! thx!

  • DieJulia79,

the reason why it is not on your cd because this song too much for one heart is one of the song that did not make it to the cut, it was removed, and this song was not performed at the broadway play of miss saigon. watch the video too much from one heart from cefcute, it has a link on the related videos on this page. lea explained it all why it did not make it to the play.

  • if you watch the "Miss Saigon - The Making" videos, this song has been sung there several times (and used as background music too).

  • your not going to find this song on any cd. She only sang it at a concert she did as a special gift for the audience...you could probably find it on one of those downloading software.

  • The same melody is used in the song, "Please"

  • Yep, the song didn't make it to the play and is replaced by "Please". If you are still searching for the song, I've got an MP3 file. Send me a PM if you want it :)

    x

  • how can i get the mp3?

  • Message me, and I'll send it to you :)

  • anyone can send me the mp3 of this? just to tide me over until i can find her CD with this song on it. i have tried ripping the audio from this video, but my ipod keeps cutting off the last 20 seconds or so... ugh.

  • love it well done lea i wish i could sing like that. iv done it in my singing lessons but it sounds nothing compared to her. shes amazing.thanks for uploading it.

  • is there available karaoke version of the whole MISS SAIGON musicale? where to purchase?thanks guys....

  • hmmm

  • perfect pitch at 3:08

  • i'm surprised that this song is not on the CD with the highlights... i'm very happy to find it here. thx for posting it! i defintly will buy the double CD with all songs!

  • Does anyone have the karaoke version to this song?

  • I love freakin' love Miss Saigon!! I wish I had this this song on my iPod

  • It's a darn shame that this song did not make the final cut. I first heard this song (or verses of), like most, on the "Making Of" video from the London production. I understand why the song was re-worked but after listening to Lea's passionate performance it definitely makes "Please" pale in comparison. We can only imagine how the song would have sounded in the actual show, and it would have been a showstopper. Quite possibly even more heartwrenching than "I'd Give My Life For You." BRAVO LEA!!

  • yeah, this is my all time favorite play, Evita

and Legally Blonde are my other top 3. I hear

d the Japanese version on You Tube of several

songs, Miss Saigon is brilliant in any langaug

    e. she puts passion into her songs like no one

else I've ever heard. 'Please' is the most hea

rtbreaking song in the play since she's so exc

ited and happy but you know what's going to ha

ppen after that. I was skeptical about legally

    blonde but it surprised me.

  • Her voice is breaktaking and the song wow!!!!

  • I have been searching for the sheet music for this for like 2 years now...it just doesn't exist to the public I guess but gah I wanna sing it sooo bad. It sucks that it was cut from the show b/c it would've been the best song in it. It is just so beautiful and Lea Salonga is pretty much my vocal idol. I love her and this song soo much.

  • Ummm....I found the sheet music...I have it for the entire show...

  • omg where???? I want it sooo bad!

  • wasn't 'We Could Be In Love' also a Miss Saigo

n song at one point in time?

  • makes you wonder why some parents would hurt or leave their children...

  • Omg, the lyrics have me in tears. Thank you for posting this, it is incredibly beautiful.

I have an Asian mother and a white dad.

"Yours, half of all of this is yours . . . soon you will see the best of you and me in the smile that is shining on the face of your son . . . all our stories combining in this life we've begun."

    Absolutely heart breaking!

  • Love this song! "Here in my arms I hold such wonder, I wish time could stop right here, make perfection last forever...in which I could disappear!" STUNNING!

    Love.

  • I love the "To a sparkle of light" part :) The whole song is beautiful :D

  • Beautiful song, beautiful lyrics, beautiful woman. Tragedy that it wasn't included in the final cut. "This tiny work of art" the words leap into my head every time I look at my youngest son

  • thanks for info

  • ....what??

  • what a voice and song brings tears to my eyes every time i hear it. Lynda3958

  • this always takes my breath away!

  • bravo.such a great song for such a great singer.

  • She sings in such perfect pitch! Bravo!!!

  • beautiful..

  • I can't believe I've never heard this song before o.o Beautiful, it should never have been taken out of the show.

  • u were in the show?

  • Me? No no (I wish :p), but I have the original recording album (well, my dad does) and have listened to that since forever, and it's not on it.

So it must have been taken out right at the beginning, does anyone know?

  • The production has to cut down some scenes because of the length of the show. This scene unfortunate was cut.

  • gorgeous!! such a lovely song

  • Jamen, er jo smukt ! :-)

  • i really loved this music..

  • "When i see his face before me,

this is too much for one heart."

    *sigh*

  • Classic Lea. Too bad it was taken out of the show.

  • this song is soooo beautiful, on so many levels. thanks for sharing!

  • Just beautyful natural voice and a great, great song!!

  • the lyrics have all been changed on my recording its called 'please' when she sings it with John but this is lovely!her voice is just perfect so effortless!

  • this is the song that was taken out of miss saigon. they changed it to please because it didnt move the story along. but its beautiful isnt it?

  • Actually, for the musical, they changed the entire song. They wrote "Please" and "Too Much for One Heart" and spent a long time considering which one to keep and which one to... well, not keep. Pity that they dropped this, I think it's so perfect and beautiful! But "Please" does a better job at actually advancing the plot, so I guess it was the right choice.

  • Why they took it out? There must be some valid reasons for that. Just like when the West End production lyrics "its her or me" was changed to "now that i've seen her" for the Broadway production. The reason i learned was that its not so approppriate for Ellen as an american to demand Chris to choose but rather she should be understanding:)

  • I feel so robbed that they cut this song. Absolutly one of the best songs ever!

  • the voice is great........

  • beautiful

  • lea is awesome...

  • what mean miss saigon? id saigon a country name? plz tell me!!!

  • It can't be true that you don't know that Saigon was the capital of South Viet Nam... :-O

  • During the past couple of months, I have marked 412 songs as being among my favorites of all time. But every time I come to YouTube, it is this song (not even a video), which I want to hear before I shut down my computer. I finally figured out the obvious: I think this is the greatest vocal performance, male or female, American, Filipino, or whatever, that I have heard in my 52 years of living and listening Thanks Lea!

  • And On My Own comes in a very close second. Amazing!!!!

  • lol agreed! (Tho I'd probs put On My Own as no.1) I'm intriuged by the other 410 songs tho...?!

  • I'd put this song as number 1. On My Own my number 2. I don't know but this song just breaks my heart. It's so meaningful and the melody has a mystery to it.

  • I would have never thought that I call sth. perfect. Lea Salonga's voice IS! Definitely.

  • i love this, thanks for posting it!

  • awesome!

  • What a wonderful song. I can't believe this was cut!!!

  • beautiful song. lea salonga really knows how to sing from the heart.

  • superb play!

  • Wow I haven't seen the show but after hearing this song I really want to. It's amazing.

  • This one is really beautiful, but in the actual play you'll hear a duet called 'Please' in its stead. The producers decided that the lead character, Kim, already has a solo that fulfills this one's purpose (I'd Give My Life For You), which would make 'Too Much for One Heart' a song that doesn't move the story along.

  • very powerful, almost overshadows les miserables' "on my own"

  • what a beautiful song!

  • ang galing tlaga ni Lea! IDOL!

  • I can't believe this wasn't in the show!

  • yes, this song is the continuation of john's please... this part was cut is some productions???... what a loss. this is my favorite...

  • You are right ... a wonderful song.

  • great great great !!!

  • so good....can't believe they cut it out...

  • this song does not appear in the australian production nor the UK production it is an extension of the song PLEASE she sings with the character John. i wish they would put it in the other productions as the melody is truly grande

  • I still get goosebumps as her voice soars in this song. The absolute highlight of the show -- really, Lea's singing is the only reason I care about Miss Saigon.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • The first time I found out the tape and the cd will be in the market, i was at the music store very early ine the morning to get it. It is worth the waking up early lol. A very good voice from everyone who participated.
