Great vid. Various forms of ‘sweat lodges’ have many used by different cultures throughout history, so I think its not so much that the person behind it has to be of Native American descent so much as the person has to be competent toward that ritual or ceremony. I’m just hoping that this opens people’s eyes to be aware of where and who they are looking to for any thing.
@XMoonSeekerX There is only one real way to run a sweat lodge. A traditional sweat lodge is never super hot, but hot enough for you to sweat. The most important detail for a sweat lodge is to have a real expierenced person to "run the sweat". It is a cerimony, not a sauna! This is coming from a traditonal northern cheyenne man. I am 38 and still haven't had the rite to run one on my own. You can come to the rez and expierence a real one for free. Many families have one almost every weekend.
Spiritual Theft of Native Sacred Ceremonies is Flat Out WRONG!! Go have a "Spiritual Event" of your own white man..in your Hot tub! Leave us NDNS out of it! Leave our Ceremonies alone!!
Perhaps there are some kind of "Time Life" books out there; you know.... like the volume just after bedrooms and bathrooms, and if you decide not to keep the entire set, you get to keep "How to mock the indigenous" for free! I Dunno!
First the whites tried to restrict the natives from following their tradition and culture. Now some whites are wannabe Indians. All whites who try these should have died in the sweat lodge.
I seen this on the News the other...crazy, i was just hoping the government don't take away our sweet lodge, we natives still use to this day and we ain't that dumb ass, we use properly and also with caution...."One thing you gonna know about sweet lodge is when you can't take the steam inside the sweet lodge you needa bail the phuk out!"
lol! Nice vid! That guys an ass...charging people for a ceremony. I heard the lodge was made of plastic and leaked toxins when it go too hot...geez I feel really sorry for the people who got sick and sad for the people who died...

@XMoonSeekerX I'm not familiar with other culuture's sweat lodges, but I would be interested in knowing the similarities and/or differences.

Learn how to spell if you want to act Indian, suppose you are one of those wannabe's! We spell it Sweat Lodge! Maybe in Pheonix they spell it Sweet.

People have died in fake sweat lodges before, but this incident is getting a lot of publicity. I hope it saves some lives.
If basic human decency and respect aren't good enough reasons not to mess with ways that don't belong to you, saving your own hide is!

Thanks xXKiragaXx.... it was a tragedy for the families left behind, and because of one man's greed.
