  • 0:54 is not a picture of 'Crane.

And the picture at 1:10 is of Recapturetheglory, I'm pretty sure.

  • well I fail then.

  • good comp. jelly, thanks for the upload

  • only head shaking I saw was the normal pre-race bobbing & shaking. These are race horses, famously high strung. Not all head tossing is because of mouth bother. During the race the only head movement I saw was normal running movement. It's obvious BB was bothered by something but it wasn't the bit. He has a BADLY cracked hoof, BB was obviously sore, they should NOT have raced him. Shame on the trainer & owner for being greedy. I'm happy to see that D pulled him up instead of pushing him.

  • IMPORTANT UPDATE...Casino Drive was not able to take his morning jog today (FRI) because of a slight stone bruise to his left hind leg. He has not been scratched yet, they are waiting to see if he is sound tomorrow morning! I don't see how any horse can run a 1 1/2 mile race with a sore foot!

  • RED CARD BELMONT

Significantly more winners at the Belmont Stakes (3rd leg of the elusive Triple Crown) arrive via the Preakness (G1) than via the Peter Pan (G2). Big Brown arrives by way of the former obstacle. Of far greater concern is Casino Drive jockey Prado having a closer connection to Big Brown trainer Dutrow (Equibase stats) than should be a fleeting/unreasonable fear. Dutrow regularly hires Prado. With Dutrow guaranteeing Big Brown will finish first, see the conflict of interest?

  • Are you suggesting Dutrow has threatened Prado to let Big Brown win? O.o I seriously doubt it. Dutrow has always been extremely confident in Big Brown, I honestly don't think he is the type to pull something like that anyway.

  • 10 years ago I would have put a great deal of stock in your suggestion, but today, I don't think so. The big races today are scrutinized so closely, so fast, I don't think it is possible to get away with it. Remember, that a couple minutes after the race is over it will be posted on here, for all of us to look over in slow motion detail. Prado has too much to lose,he is a wanted rider by much bigger Trainers than Dutrow and throwing a big race like this would cost him his career! No chance!

  • tomcito,(will probably be 60 to 1)as much as he did nothing much here in u.s.,but i know he is verryy good on long distances, makes u wonder,if big browns problems worsen...this belmont triple and super will pay...SUPER...like it did back in 2002,who the hell knows, just shooting ideas...

  • r u kidding me casino drive is overated big brown is the best horse i have seen in a while big brown will win no competition

  • Do you remember a horse named Empire Maker? He was the favorite in the Derby and tried to run on a sore foot? Funny Cide won the race and the Preakness before getting beaten badly by a now healthy Empire Maker in the Belmont. Do you see a similar pattern here? Having a Quarter Crack and an Abcess just before a 1 1/2 mile race is not good. He could heal up, but if not??? Casino Drive has tallent and a rabbit to force a hot pace for him to run at, but don't overlook Denis of Cork either.

  • I'm not sure about any of the horses... I love Big Brown and Denis of Cork, and I am impressed w/ Casino Drive, but the second place finisher in the Peter Pan's best breyer figure was 88, I believe. soooooo, thing is, we just don't know how good Casino Drive is...

  • BIG BROWN Crashes on Triple Crown Bid

Spare the white carnations and Belmont Breeze on this one. And all because of Kentucky-bred, Japanese-trained spoiler Casino Drive. The cold hard facts support that Big Brown is due for a "slow" race, adding anywhere from 1/3 of a second to 3/4 of a second to his last 1 Mile time of 1:35.72 in the Preakness. Big Brown cycles from fast Mile times (Saratoga) to slow (Gulf) to fast (Florida) to slow (Kentucky) back to his recent fast 1 Mile (Preakness).

  • what....

  • dodgesanjeeb is trying to say that Big Brown has a pattern.. he ran a fast time at saratoga then slow at gulf then ran fast at florida then slow in the derby then again he ran fast at the preakness. He is trying to say that statiscally he will run a slow race at the Belmont and not a guarunteed win. get it?

  • A slower mile in the 1 1/2 mile Belmont would only help Big Brown. It would play right into his tactical Speed. If you want a reason to bet against him look no further that his left front foot! An Abcess and a Quaarter Crack are not standard equipment for the Belmont! Watch to see if Dutrow takes him out on the morning of the Belmont for a blow as he did in the Derby and Preakness. That would be a sign he is sound, if he doesn't...box Casino drive with Denis of Cork and enjoy the huge payout

  • cool.
