@Jtalianoo I think Americans just get it wrong alot unintentionally--confusing Baverian with the rest of Germany (irritating?)--I'm sure there are other german dance regeions as well. Back in WI with numerous German dance groups--we are all aware of the difference, there being so many german=americans there.

@11Apr19Apr I can tell you one---the Pomeranians---they're costume totally different from this. There are about 10 german dance troupes in WI---the Baverians get all the press cuz they're dances are so spectacular. I'm just glad, though, that people are still dancing!!

The first dance is the "Eckerischer aus Dorfstetten" from Lower Austria. The name of the village must be added, because there are completely different dances named "Eckerischer" in Austria and Bavaria.

Dance #2, horribly played, is the "Untersteirer Landler" from both sides of the Austrian-Slovenian Border. In Slovenia the same dance is named "Bohinj Stajerslo" after a town in Slovenia.
