I've heard sony makes good video programs, but I can't afford any right now, if you can, you probably should try sony vegas.

I'm in the same boat no cash flow at all we had a similar crash in Ireland like the States I had a job in a Blockbuster (called Xtravision here) but it sucked and they were putting way to much pressure for my liking but back on topic, I found a free program called avidemux gonna give it a shot tomorrow but looks like a fairly complete free tool :)
