THIS PHONE IS THE SLOWEST PEICE OF JUNK EVER!!!! i won this phone on MOD up in wistler i switch my plan from my $50 telus phone to this peice of junk and i already switched back after a month of use. If you want a touch phone go with the iphone so much easier and simpler. It takes me 30 seconds to a minute just to see my text messages and its a pain in the ass to add contacts. 3gs, omnia software is too nifty man. My friend has one and it makes you feel like throwing it outside!! Check out other phones instead of these two because samsung wave or sony xperia x10 are brilliant phones, not to mention htc nexus one but android isnt that good :)

The phone now comes with Win 6.5...which is a big improvement over 6.1...and 7 is coming soon too. This is a big improvement over the lag times...much improved.

The lag is probably because it's loading internet aplications/widgets (it's downloading many information at the same time, like the weather, the google search page, etc).

I have this phone, running on the Win Mobile 6.5 (it came loaded with it) and the phone isn't as laggy as it is in this video. Also my friend has it with win 6.1 with the SPB and it runs very smooth. But with me having 6.5, i am very happy with the phone for now. And u cant tell its running windows at all. From how the first Omnia was...i would recomend this phone for some one who wants to try a win mobile phone.

So sorry for replying late. My PC isnt' working and i just dont have time to fix it lol. Well even if the phone is laggy as they say. There are updates from samsung that updates the phone...so i wouldn't worry about that., and yes it comes pre-loaded with teh 6.5 now. So get the phone if you like it. You wont regret it.

The TouchWiz homepage isn't very well optimized unfortunately. Replace that with SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 and the phone will be AWESOME.

The default setting for the CPU is Medium, out of the box as he is using it here. So he gets the lag seen here. The CPU performance can be set to High in the settings menu easily. Pocket now video does has 5 videos reviewing the Omnia 2, one of which addresses this.

Yeah... I think they should have removed the widget screens and the cube. Then they should have focused one the icons screens where you can make 10 screens and then rename and rearrange as you see fit. Who cares if it will look like iPhone... if it works it works and icons ARE the easiest to recognize quickly... They could still keep the "cube" page and change it to the mediaplayer or just media page, which you could then get to by pressing the cube at the bottom.

Widgets are all the rage these days, and it's one the things that sets these phones apart from the Iphone. Great as the Iphone is, it's the lack of customisation of the home screen that stops it from having that Zeusesque status. Samsung are heading in the right.direction; however, they just need to tidy the UI/widgets to bring it on par with the suave appearance of Touch flo 3D/ Sense.

Iphone might be hype up but nobody can deny it has one of the best UI that is not laggy and user friendly. The only lag i've heard of about this phone in ANY other review (about ten others) iswith the widgets. Not the entire Touchwiz UI itself. And the widget interface is easily avoidable. I'm sure if all you have is a digital clock, caldender, and messages widget on ONE home screen, then you can use the rest in the launcher. Zero lag then.

It's definitely a con on the phone but an avoidable one that doesn't really damage the phone at all. It's something that can easily be overlooked. Not something that would put this phone below ANY HTC device.
