  • Does the engine take longer to reach higher rpms now or is it peaky? I'm guessing that you're slowly opening the throttle in this video. Are you too scared to just go straight to WOT?

  • Wow that is awesome!! Not sure about glow engines but wouldn’t it be better placed before the silencer? I.e. pipe it straight from the engine into the turbo then have the silencer after the turbo? The exhaust gas would have more energy then as it would still be exploding out of the engine. Or do the glow engines need the exhaust for back pressure or something?? Totally awesome !

  • I highly doubt your turbo is making any boost... it's probably adding a restriction to the escaping exhaust gasses and the intake as well. Air does not have the same dynamics the smaller things get. I also doubt the tolerances in the turbo are high enough to be efficient or that the turbine profiles are even efficient. If you want to stop guessing then hook up a boost gauge to the compressed side then do a full throttle negative pitch run on the ground.

    He may be right on about the exhaust gasses into the intake theory. If your cold compressor side is eating exhaust, could explain the really long spool up time and the constantly emitted stream of unburned exhaust gas.

  • @jojothedog1234 He says the intake pipe heats up. If thats true, that means the intake air has to be compressed (Adiabatic heat process). All he need is a reading of ambient temperature, and charge air temperature, and if the charge air is hotter, then its pressurized. The temperature difference lets he calculate boost pressure aswell.

    Ich habe einen Kompressor (fast das gleiche) in einem 2-Taktbenziner (HPI Fuelie 26) und einen Turbo in einem 4-Taktbenziner (20ccm Typ Saito FG-20 Turbo). Der Turbo war beim Saito FG-20 SERIENMÄßIG dran. Da frage ich mich, warum gibt es bei meinem 2-Takter erhebliche Leistungssteigerung OHNE RESOROHR...

    schalldämpfer erhöhen.

    WIE? Beim ansaugen (um den Motor besser zu spülen werden frischgase in den Auspuff gedrückt. So bald die Überströmschlitze verschlossen sind wird durch den Resonanzdämpfer über den Auslassschlitz

    die gespülten frischgase zurück in den Zylinder gedrückt.

    Das bringt was nicht so ein möchte gern Turbo.

  • In the description of the video says that it is full gas with - 12º pitch..

    I think he´s still trying it, and could be dangerous for the heli to fly it. It´s better on the floor..

  • You should hook up a boost gauge, you can probably get one for 20-30 bucks. That will tell you if you are creating boost and how much. Post a video when you get one.

  • Actually it should already have a waste gate actuator so that it does not over-boost. So what that it's a mini helicopter. Tell me how will he know if it's even boosting? Please, don't try to make yourself sound smart, it's not working.
