  • Your switch is amazing. Very strong and fluid. I think this is your best post yet...good work, u give me hope!!

  • @rkken2009 Thank You very much!!

  • I love your work keep it up

  • @iloveheiniken Thank You!

  • Joel you are amazing!

  • @Rise0rdie Thank You!

  • @xooropa I hope things are looking up soon. By the way, I'm not sure if you are on Facebook, but I'm there as my real name--Joel Lessing. I've actually been fairly distracted lately...lots of crazy s*** going on in my life right now, so I don't put up as many vids as I did before!! Take care!

  • @kwalker1987 Thanks!

  • Fabulous Joel! Your transitions are becoming so smooth! Your cupid is solid and your switch... ugh I am so jealous! Well done. =)

  • @PunkyJessie Thank You!! ...yes, now if I could just find the time to say focused on the pole thing long enough to stay in practice......lol! It's just been so busy lately, but I'm glad I'm still making a little bit of progress!

  • Your switches are getting SMOOTH and the overall posture of your moves has improved heaps (your gemini is really something!).

My cupid looks exactly like yours - I too hook my top knee too high and end up hanging by the top leg rather than engaging my legs, bringing hips forward and having a cool 90° angle at the hip. The first step is always just being able to hang in there, perfecting can come later ;)

  • @inapole Thanks! ...one problem with the short pole is not having enough time to play around with how the move OUGHT to look before the whole thing slides to the ground, lol. Yes, I've been trying to figure out that knee hook thing. I suspect more stretching would help, too. I'm convinced the stretching also helped in just GETTING the move. Sometimes I think I make NO progress in flexibility at all...but the two pieces of tape I use as progress markers have moved about 2 inches!!

  • Wow Joel you have had a sudden spurt of progression. It's great that you are linking tricks together. Flexibility and confidence in your ability seems to have grown ten fold. Hugs!

  • @dollyknockers Thank You! Some day I'd like to at least be able to do some decent combos. I doubt I'll ever have the endurance for a long routine, but it would be great to string at least 4-5 moves together before getting tired, lol!

  • Great cupid, especially that last one! You have good stability in that one. Also really liking your inverts Joel.

  • @Trena543 Thanks, Trena...I'm trying to be a little less "clunky" on the pole!

  • Wow! Amazing Joel! You get me so happy watching your pole videos! Congratulations for the advances and for the example that you are!

  • @PoleDanceArt Thank You very much!!

  • @xooropa Heyyyyy...long time no see!! What have you been up to? I miss you, hope life is going well!

  • Very nice cupid! Looks like your flexibility is improving too. :)

  • @spinbunny Yes, I did about an hour of stretching with the giant rubber bands pulling on my arms and legs trying to get this move. I still can't even get close to a split at all!!

  • great work Joel. You're starting to look very elegant :)

  • @dirdybirdy101 Awwww. you are so sweet, Miss D!!! I am watching your tutorials for tips, too!!

  • you are improving so quickly! im jealous! Can I ask how often do you practice??

  • @knackerpig I was off the pole for about a month dealing with legal and court issues caused by my mom's Alzheimers, so I got really out of practice. But generally, I practice every third day. I do bike riding, health club, then pole--it's a three day rotation. But of course if the weather is good, I want to bike ALL THE TIME!!!

  • @Poledancefan I understand what you mean about being out of practice, Im in italy at the moment teaching childrens summercamps, and i have no space for my pole! had to leave him back in Ireland! every three days and your that good! when im home, im on it almost every day, but I find it hard progressing with no teacher or dvds (not exactly abundant in rural ireland :-P )

  • I think your ready to enter competitions, how about coming to England and entering Mr Pole dance in October. ;-))

  • @poleyeti LOL, I am FLATTERED...not sure I am ready for copetitions--but it WOULD be a great excuse to travel, wouldn't it? I AM going to pole camp in Canada in September, so that should be fun! Thanks for watching the video!

  • Great job Joel! You've come such a long way since the beginning and have accomplished so much! Outstanding work, keep it up =)

  • @Metallichik Thank You!!

  • yeah, I see you are getting nice leg extension Joel! really sweet combo, looking great; "Dream Big!!"

  • @Hoddska LOL, thanks Alex....I've been really distracted lately with so much craziness going on in my life..but it has been nice to get back on the pole now and then!

  • Loved the lifting inverts........ been trying to do those for a while now, bascially cos my climb to invert is pants......... whereas yours looks fab!........ although I am improving so I'm sticking at it :o)

I also giggled at the 'no exit' bit........lol!

  • @Ange70x Thanks, Ange!!

Well, the video is for a Pole champion and dance major whom I admire. She's French...and American. She made a decision to finish her education in healthcare, but has (possibly?) had a dance related offer (not sure, exactly). She's been a little mysterious about it, and so have I. I haven't had the courage to link this to her page, but it is a kind of message.

  • Very nice leg switches. Cupid is looking really nice too. You are really coming along nicely.

  • @SimpllySweet Thank You, Tiff!!

  • wow joel!! i havent seen a vdo from you in a while.. this was amazing!! wow joel... im sooo proud of you!!!! i want a scorpio handstand ugh!!!! and i giggled at the no exit strategy =D <3

  • @castleoutsider LOL, Thanks!! Well, I got various "parts" of the whole picture in there. So here is my idea for the whole shebang: Imagine the whole combo again, but after coming down to the Scorpio handstand, I would Cat back upwards to the Aysha...bend the leg around to the Brass Monkey.....hook the leg...sit--up into the pole sit...and slide down. That is my idea for the whole thing. Another reason I need a taller pole!! Thanks for watching, Chelcie!!!

  • Yay joel your cupid looks great! Wish I had your strength for the arial invert, so jelous x

  • @benicebehappy Thank you!

  • hey joel, at 0:57 they were the perfect pointed toes . 1:30 is what ive been trying, its harder than it looks eh ? but you did better than im doing.i am very jealous of 3:58 and 4:58 ,they were perfect !

  • @thatlarawoman Thanks Lara....the Cupid eluded me for a long time. The Scorpio handstand was kind of an accident of falling or sliding to the ground. Thank you for the compliment on the pointed toes...ordinarily I like to wear shoes, but the Cupid seems impossible unless you can move/grip your feet!

  • good work joel i am love the hanstand and the switch leg *****

  • @Lorenzia777 Thank You, Gabriel. The leg switch is one of my favorite moves!

  • How do you work out beside poledancing? I admire you!

  • @annine913 Hi Annine. I go to the local Bally's Health club and lift on the weight machines. In the summer I like to do a 35 mile bike ride every day the weather is decent. I leave Forest Park, ride down to the lakefront to Mavy Pier...loop around the path...and come back. Thank you so much for the nice things you said!!!

  • Great work joel your leg switch is really strong and your handstand is looking fab well done you :Dx

  • @lilly020106 Thanks, LeeAnn...I see you've got a new video up, also. I am sooo behind in watching vids lately. My wife is away for the weekend (on a ladies only long bike ride and overnight stay ! ...hmmmmm...wonder what they are up to right now, lol!! Thank you so much for watching the video, your support and encouragement has meant a lot to me!
