My god---this is incredible stuff! Does this girl have any CD's out yet? This stuff makes me cry--I just can't help it! As a beginning trumpet player myself, and a huge fan of Herb Alpert, Chuck Mangione, etc, this is SO different for me! I LIKE what I'm hearing here---proves what I've known alo along, even as a drummer--trumpets are beautiful played right--and this is right as rain! Beautiful tone! I've seen videos of this girl and her tone is unique to her, the vibrato is part of that and is played very tastefully. I'm a jazz lead trumpet player that lives in a totally different world, but this is very well done. However, get that horn up :) Even if you are say compensating for an overbite, grab a custom mpc to do it for you and stand tall for airflow mechanics. Again, very beautiful!

I wish I could play Euphonium half as beautifully as she plays trumpet when I was that age... Granted I can now, but I'm a college student with a few years of training under my belt now.. This is why schools should not cut music programs.. We would not have such young virtuosos like Ms. Venema to listen to and be amazed by.. Young players like her inspire others that anything is possible.. It's just stunning to hear a 14 year old play like that. BRAVO!

Absolutely elegant... her playing is unlike other trumpet playing I have heard. There is not a harsh note in all she does. Beautiful tone, best I have heard. Her slow (wide) vibrato is what I find most sensitive for a trumpet.

Just beautiful. I was a cornet player in a brass band for 5 years, and always thought trumpets were too harsh, but her tone is amazing. If I didn't know any better, I'd say it was a cornet, it's so lyrical, just perfect for this song. Amazing talent, and I wish I was as good as her. x

I will have to say her tone is absolutely beautiful. I myself played for 16 years and even performed for 4 years in the United States Army as a professional musicianand I can say this is one of the best young artists I have ever heard. Only one thing that rather bugs me, but then again it is my opinion, is her vibrato. To me there is simply too much of it maybe if she slowed it down or not made it as wide it would sound better I think. Otherwise excellent sound you should be proud.

I totally agree with you about the posture thing thats important, but some people have a naturally off setting amature...i go to sam houston state university and i am a trumpet player in the studio here...and i have to say that since i have a off amature as well, once u get used to playing that way u shouldn't change it unless there is a serious problem with ur playing...and the way she plays for her age, i wouldn't mess with success
