Hey a question, at around 2:13 how come when you were using your E it wasn't a skillshot but a *click the champion* instead?

@Blazirucon I think we put it on smartcast. In case you don't know, you just put your cursor on top of a champ, or however it's cast, press the key and it's cast. I think you can edit it in the interface section. Default smartcast is either alt+spell or ctrl+spell

People don't realise how powerful this champion is. It's ridiculous how underestimated she is, but at the same time it's good because those who play her get that surprise effect. This is probably the best bot support in game with Alistar, and a tremeduous counter to Blitzcrank and any other support without heal. I was very lucky to buy her before any other champion because there's rarely any bottom lane I lose when I play Leona.

I skip the heart of gold and just rush sunfire. Usually I get enough assists out of w to make a pretty penny. It also killsteals like a fuckward of times. frozen heart gives her ult a 30-40~ second cooldown. Sometimes you can use it twice in a fight, especially during chases.

@Neoblitzer Trinity force isn't worth it. Leona is played with fire cape, frozen sword, warmog, aegis, randuins omen, shurelya, and other tanky items. In end game or if they have a lot of AP you get abyssal sceptre so you can participate in dealing damage and resist magic.

I'll probably try her out in her free-week, check out 3 different builds, tank, heimerdinger and ap..

other than the fact that my heimerdinger build makes heimer a magic damage dps and a tank at once, essentially two champs (in every way, one can be killed while the other stays too) as long as the fight stays in a decently small area (it is common). leona seems to be decent for my build aswell, a tanky aoe caster, with decent scales and cc.. and ofc I go for assists as both..

I don't understand the exhaust choice. She has three stuns and awesome initiate, the exhaust just seems unnecessary. It seems like taking ignite would synergize much more with her passive and give her some killing extra killing potential, which she needs. Stun+ignite+passive pretty much guarantees your team will kill your target and a team fight becomes 4v5.

@auatarch Summoners aren't super important on her, but exhaust is a spell that atleast one person should carry it team games. Champions with hi-dmg output and escape mechanisms like Tryndamere are hard-countered by a well timed exhaust. If someone already has exhaust than it might be more wise to pick up clairvoyance, fortify, teleport, etc.

@Sunundrade Her AP ratios are too low for her to be an AP DPS champ. To me she gets really effective once you get that trinity force because it gives her some great synergy to play with with all her CC. You can build her damage but her attack range is too short and sticking to targets is not easy without boots of swiftness I'd say. Once she pops all her CD's it gets messy to be dealing a lot of damage imo.

i'm not saying she is Bad or anything, but with Tanks like Shen, Mumu, Ram, Jarvan that can initiate so good and actually do some damage, why take leona?

i bought her and she is fun but IMHO there is way better out there.

I've mostly seen Leona go solo top, starting out with something cheap and boots :) Also I consider her to be more of a tank then a support, so solo top does fit extremely well, since otherwise you won't have a proper support char.

the only way to play her is tank... toplay her on ap is fail because her ratios are like nothing... i see some leonas they buy sheen but thtey failed hard against me.. (leona vs leona solo top) so i prefer my tank build with her... she deals enough dmg to support the team in teamfights and her passiv is one of her main dmg spells.. x'D

I love having 40% cdr on her. Also I think people are underplaying her passive, yeah her base damage and ratios are pretty meh, but consider this:

If you have someone around to activate your passive on your targets it essentially increases her q's damage by 87.5% (160+140 = 300 base), her w's by 53.85% (260+140 = 400), her e's by 63.63% (220+140 360) and her r's by 40% (350+140 = 590).

All values are based off max rank skill base values and level 18.

It feels like she could be a good tanky ap since all her skills are ap damage and 2 AoE. Her shield could work like Sion's she could just go in the middle, blow up shield, and ult to do tons of damage. Gonna try that out :)
