  • i have to sing this in a concert, will never ever be able to acomplish this, KINELL

  • WOW WOW WOW WOW... this song... and all those memories.....

  • The girls of the sixties. Hair and all.

  • SOLID GOLD FROM DUSTY XXXX

  • SOLID GOLD CLASSIC...LET HER MUSIC PLAY ON ....God Bless Dusty xxxx

  • wow...love it.

  • lovely <3

  • Most of her songs were soft and "smokey". In this one the last 30 seconds sound like someone's very life depended on it. Rare to get that kind of intensity in a recording studio. Bravo, Dusty. RIP

  • Thumbs up if Doctor Who brought you here!

  • Love this woman so much she is my all time favourite singer of all time, she is my inspiration. When I sing this I always get a standing ovation wherever I sing it......love you Dusty x

  • It's "io che non vivo (senza te)" - "I, who can't live (without you)" and not "Lo che non vivo" which in Italian doesn't mean anything.

  • @matthiaursini Thanks...it was just a typo and I'll correct it.

  • I was the only 7 year old I knew who had a terrible crush on her, I know there had to be more out there.

  • I would love to hear Adele cover this.

  • this song makes me cry...

  • Wow.. Hair .. o_o

  • Wow.They don't make 'em like her anymore.What a voice..

  • I'm crying.

  • A wonderful honor to here this great voice and it is really sweet and loving.Thank you for letting this 73 yr old re-live my past with her voice.

  • Perfect!!!

  • I enjoyed your video!

    --------Ellen

  • There was only one Dusty- and this was her finest!! God rest!!

  • Amazing sound .... xxx

  • @crestaxxx agree

  • God rest ur sole dusty, we still love u

  • The Best Singer On the Planet For Sure!!

  • great song heard she use to live few hundred yards from where i live in high wycombe in late 50s

  • You want to know what CLASS is???? Take a look and give a listen!

  • @kitty3863 This entire era was classy and elegant. I wish i could go back in time. Could you imagine this being a new release lol.

  • I believe you, Dusty.

    That was never in doubt.

  • My Mum's A MASSIVE Fan Of Dusty Springfield!

  • @HowToVidsOfficial well then you should listen to your mum!

  • a 5 personas les tienen que decir que las aman para confiar en su pareja

  • This song tears me up as much today as the first time I heard it. I'm almost tearing up now!

  • always reminds of my mum ,who played her constantly I guess she was feeling pretty bad but as kid it went all over your head .

  • My favorite Dusty song!

  • This song still breaks my heart

  • Doctor who - what??

  • the voice that launched a million hearts and kisses will be remembered for eternity.

  • Burberry!!!!

  • great music

  • This was in a Tarantino movie?

  • what a great voice!

  • One of the great feminist lyrics this, isn't it ?! Only joking, I love to hear Dusty singing.

  • Up to 0:18, used in the start of Ludacris' "Last of a Dying Breed"... and then proceeded to let it ride on from there.

  • I think it is uncool to comment on other singers when this page is obviously for Dusty Springfield. This is the first comment I have ever made. You see how I have turned it around to be about me. lol

  • i think her music will go on living even if she is dead.

  • R I P always loved you're music and the hit from the Pet shop Boys

  • I know it is seriously uncool, but I do like the Amy Winehouse and Adele music. However, this lady is one of the great key originators - classic and very powerful.

  • I came here from Elvis Presley's version

  • the best british female singer of all time R.I.P. XXX

  • @carlogambino76 Yes she was really special, I grew up listening to her and the great Shirley Bassey,,the music goes on and Dusty is still with us in many ways.

  • @jeanmunn thank -you for your reply.being in my late 40's i like all sorts of music but all i can say like shirley B

Dusty& a few others they had a real gift for singing not like some of people in music of today.

  • @jeanmunn Dusty was a great gift.

  • Nice to hear again.

  • im not sure why homosexuality still has to be exposed, who cares what ya like.

  • @LisaSpringfield I do aggree with that. I think if you ask anyone honestly most people fall into that grey area.

  • Wow, this song sounds JUST like There Are Worse Things I Could Do from the movie Grease

  • r.i.p. beautiful lady ,we will forever love your music,r.l.s

  • Was she gay?

  • The most EPIC first 30 seconds...

  • @Taietzel Definitely! One of the best background bands of songs of that period. If only they'd start doing it again...

  • Thumbs Up if Sarra Manning and her amazing book, "You Dont Have To Say You Love Me" brought you here. :D

  • I love Dusty's music. Her voice is so amazing, my parents raised me on this generations music and I raised my 3 girls on it as well...nothing today beats the emotion and talent singers of this era had!

  • The song was composed by Pino Donaggio he was an Italian singer is entitled " Io che non vivo" (1965).

  • Good sad verses, but the chorus is so out of place. Sounds too loud, bright & happy for a sad song.

  • @UpwardsFallings I think she's pleading too much for it to be bright and happy, but that's Dusty, she didn't shy away from emotional complexity. Listen to "Breakfast in Bed," it's both incredibly sexy and incredibly sad at the same time.

  • This is such a sad song, but it's honestly amazing :3

  • @123mrwillwtts She was bi and too right hun.

  • @Mrspixiebaba I think she was gay who had a slight siding towards men. That's still a lesbian in my book.

Elton John and Boy George also claimed that they were bi, but then they came out again as gay because they preferred men the most even though they had slight attraction towards women. You are not 100% gay or straight. Even a straight person (like Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore, etc) will have a slight attraction towards the other sex but they still will have opposite sex lovers.

  • @LisaSpringfield Drew Barrymore is also Bisexual btw :]

  • @funnyfan93 I know, even Jolie is supposedly bi. But Barrymore and Jolie are heterosexual I believe who'd have a slight attraction to women. Look at their relationships: mostly men and are STILL with men. I think they're those straight people who'd do the same sex even though they prefer to the opposite sex. True bisexuals are Anne Heche and Cynthia Nixon, who at least had LONG relationships with women (Ellen DeGeneres).

Drew and Angelina's relationships with women were shortlived.

  • hi so what if she was gay thats life love and be loved we all get one go at life rip dusty

  • To recap: Dusty Springfield was lesbian and some folks can't handle it; Dusty Springfield was a damned good soul singer for a white girl; Dusty Springfield died needlessly from a disease many women survive. You're up-to-speed on all the comments. Now can't we just sit back and enjoy the bloody song?

  • @therealjoebloggs

    For a white girl?

    That's racism.

And white girl is like another girl who are black or yellow or what she might be.

And you cant say that many women survive cancer but some does and some not.

And she was a damn great singer!!!

And i dont think she really thought of her skin colour....

  • @TheEmsann Obviously you missed the point that I tried to make, which was that too many of the posts were about those particular subjects and not about Ms. Springfield's talent. You know what? From now on I shall preface such comments thus: "{*IRONY*}'To recap, etc...'."

  • I came only here because Boy George sang it some months ago at the Royal Albert Hall in a "Dusty Tribute" concert. It's a very beautiful song.

  • Dusty Springfield could sing the Cleveland phone book and make it sound sexy.

  • @preagle60657 Which is a real challenge with all those difficult foreign last names in that book!!!

  • @u7alll no but i'm watching it because of The Boat That Rocked. Man.

  • @u7alll I hate those comments.

  • @u7alll You're missing out.

  • @u7alll nope because of The Boat That Rocked.

  • since first time i heard this song i always like to hear it again .....

  • FANTASTIC SONG! BELIEVE ME

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME, JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN!

    BELIEVE ME!

LOVE THE WORDS TO THIS GREAT SONG!

  • I dedicate this song to my cousin Steve that recently passed away.

  • What a song, what a voice, what an era. If I could go back in time...

  • This song will forever creep me out. "The Gangers aren't animate-" *Dusty Springfield starts playing*

  • my first love... dusty!

  • Beautiful woman!

  • I miss Dusty. No one can sing like she sang. People covered her songs but they couldn't produce the same like her. It's a shame that she's gone but her legacy will live on forever.

  • timeless........oh Dusty

  • Ludacris-"Last of a Dying Breed" from 0:00-0:19

  • I'm here because it's a great song.

  • Dusty was hot!!!!!!!!

  • She was a true class act! What a voice~

  • I absolutely LOVE this song by Dusty! She also does a fantastic version of "24 Hours From Tulsa"! If you haven't heard it by her, you should treat yourself to a listen!

  • @jleegivens I agree with you: both are beautiful songs that I used to listen when I was a teenager

  • Im here because of "BURBERRY"

  • going to see a local production of her life in Napier soon believe young woman taking her part does an incredible job.....Janeene Ryder. Just looks like her too. Booked out already and does not start until 25th Aug. Says something for Dustys po[ulairy after all this time too.

  • @emmett756 I'm working backstage for that! Janeene and the cast are doing a fantastic job. I hope you enjoy it. :)

  • @iammugget Not surprised to read your comment I am sure we will enjoy. Hope you enjoy the experience too.

  • przepiękna piosenkarka , jedna z najpiękniejszych piosenkarek na świecie

  • I ain't watching this because of "Doctor Who" im watching this because its bloody great! And Dusty was truely beautiful :)

  • I did not know that is what Sweet Dusty died of...gosh. I too was diagnosed in Sept. 09 & yes.@ bubbless40...I shared your fear at this terrible news...but @ you & @ Nocaro...this IS a New World we Live in & Science & Medicine has improved & where even 5 Years ago could have meant the loss of a breast or even your Life...IF you catch this Evil early as I did then you will be Fine! but GET the Screenings & check ups! We found it early, acted fast w/surgery & radiation for 6 1/2 weeks & I am A OK!

  • I'm watching this because she's amazing.

  • judging voice only because i don;t have the right to judge anything else about this artist .She was one of the best . with sorrow I use the word was . GREAT GREAT !!!!!!IS ALL I can sat is the world suffered great loss true artist.

  • @TheBirthOfFilm There is no need for name calling. My comment was made in general and not at you. If you read through the past comments you will notice you were not the only one referring to her sexuality. My point, it should not be important, period. And judging by your past comments to others, you obviously are 'offended' easily, lol. God bless...

  • She is my friends Aunt and I will not say who. I love this song always did thank you for posting

  • @TheBirthOfFilm please die of something

  • @64fairlane305 ~ I have not read all of this...but that is about the Rudest Comment I have ever read!! To Wish Death on ANYone is just Evil! I hope you some day fine more Peace in your Heart.

  • quelle voix!!!!!! magnifique chanson c'etait une grande dame!!!!

  • Correction, Dusty was bisexual; and why is this even being discussed. She was a goddess!

  • bubbless40, i wish you strength, cancer is not always the grim reaper it used to me, i speak from personal experience....

  • What a fuckin' record!

  • A song that has a story not like todays music

  • did dusty die of breast cancer? i have just been told i have it.

  • @bubbless40 Unfortunately, Dusty did die of breast cancer but most women today don't so I wouldn't be overly concerned with your condition just yet if it has just been diagnosed. I wish you well...Lanny (Nocaro on YouTube)

  • @bubbless40 I hope you recover soon. :(

  • @bubbless40 Medicine has come on in leaps and bounds since then, may I wish you all the best ;o)))

  • @bubbless40 Good luck. Dusty very nearly beat it, and today medical science is about 1,000 times better. Mostly don't worry and don't stress yourself!

  • @bubbless40 Get the best medical help you can and you will be fine!

  • @bubbless40 I wish you well. I had breast cancer 2 years ago. It was caught early & was treated successfully. Do what you need to get better. If you get radiation treatment, make sure you get a Rx for "Xclair" creme. Expensive stuff but worth every penny of it. Use it religiously. Listen to not only your doctors, but your body as well. Get a LOT of rest. If you are having severe mood swings consult with your doctor about SAM-e. It is OTC & works wonders. Be good to yourself. Best wishes.

  • @bubbless40 Good luck, Honey. God bless you.

  • @bubbless40 take care of yourself, and take you treatment....I have known at least 6 women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer as long as a decade ago, and they all are still going strong in full remission and cancer free....:-)

  • @bubbless40 Good luck with your fight. Stay strong.

  • @bubbless40 oh shit...

well if its in the early stages dont worry if its in the middle stages worry if its in the late stages your probably already dead

  • @bubbless40

Take breast cancer very seriously....it can kill in a matter of months...get good care and listen to your body. Sorry Nocaro, but your advice is unacceptable. Love your taste in music tho!

  • @odonneb ignorant twat, you people think you know everything, but in reality you just play with words. Of course you don t have to die if you have been told you have it. I know many breast cancer survivors

  • @killallidols A sad response. A woman has to be totally alert about this terrible disease and take it seriously from the first hint of trouble. I have seen it ravage the unwary, and there is no assurance you may be one of the "most women" who do not die from it. Sorry to have offended you. I agree some people have a way with words...and others no have way.

  • @bubbless40 My stepmother had breast cancer... and hasn't done well.. She is VERY tiny now and the prognosis isn't good. I urge every woman to have a regular mammogram and take care of yourself.

  • Stay strong sister, both my aunt and grandma had it and are still with us today. you will be too.

  • @bubbless40 nocraro is right, today most women survive breast cancer so please don't panic. Try and introduce as many anti cancerous foods into your diet, like red peppers, extra virgin olive oil, broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, mustard greens, kale, and cauliflower. blueberries too. vitamin supplemants are good too. stop smoking, drinking, cut out red meat for a while and no junk food. Get exercise too! Good luck and God bless sweetheart, you'll be ok.

  • @bubbless40 Your in my thoughts and prayers I just lost my sister to Breast cancer at the age of 55 this May. Just remember to keep a positive attitude

  • regardless weather she was a lesbian or not, she had a great voice.

  • @baldy194859

who cares what she was, stop bei n a whore ooohhhhhhhhhhh

  • hey beccaheartsrainbows ! it don,t matter what she was. her voice was out of this world. you know i heard she was the first rock and roll singer that took her music overseas.

  • That yearning voice is epic!

  • a better version than Elvis's...

  • @bradbrooklee hi, of course it is, shes the original singer :)

  • I hadn't heard this song in years. What a powerful, expressive voice! Actually, she sounds a lot like Cher.

  • no she was,nt a lesbian ! just a great singer.

  • @baldy194859 ... She was a lesbian. That is no secret lol I've grown up listening to her, she is one of my inspirations. She was open about her sexuality, she didn't give a fuck. :) xx

  • @baldy194859

Sorry to break it to you, but Dusty was, in fact, gay.

  • @ajdunning63

Nobody, in fact cares. Talent is talent. gay or otherwise.

  • @reith61 - I was merely pointing out to baldy194859 (not you) that she was gay. Homophobia sickens me- and I agree, talent is talent, period. And at the risk of pissing up a rope here, and turning this thread into something it shouldn't be, you'd be wise not to jump to any sort of an assumption about my character.

  • I dont know much about Dustys life I know she has a great voice and she sure sings with soul. Something about her seems very sad. Didnt she have a brother in the music industry??
