This group is called the Prairie Rose Wranglers and if you can get some of their CD's, do so. They are a wonderful singing group. I have not heard Randy Travis' version so I can't say, but these fellows are great and I love this.
The Prairie Rose Wranglers ceased to exist in 2007 when they changed their name to the Diamond W Wranglers. The current members are: Stu Stuart, Jim Farrell, Steve Crawford, and Chip Worthington. Stu sings the lead vocal with Jim singing harmony. The song is found on the album "FULL GALLOP"
Bob. Jessica is right. It's from the Prairie Rose Wrangler's 2005 album, "Full Gallop." At that time the Prairie Rose Wranglers were Stu Stuart, Jim Farrell & Orin Friesen. They recorded 10 CDs before leaving the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon in 2007 and changing their name to the Diamond W Wranglers.
@Ranger15231 The Prarie Rose Wrangler where amazing, we went there all the time. my Dad has atleast % of there Cds and this is my favorite song by them. I also think they where called the Flyin' W Wranglers at some point too.
@follower355 Two different bands. The Flying W Wranglers are from Colorado Springs. They've been around since the early 1950s. The Prairie Rose Wranglers started in 1999 near Benton KS.
@Ranger15231 The Prarie Rose Wrangler where amazing, we went there all the time. my Dad has atleast 5 of there Cds and this is my favorite song by them. I also think they where called the Flyin' W Wranglers at some point too.
I am 100% sure, there's no way to mistake my own dads voice. I've been listening to it for 32 years!! Call the Diamond W Chuckwagon Supper in Wichita, ks and they will send you a cd so you can be 100% sure yourself. :)
No disrespect, but I really do not think this sounds like Randy Travis at all. To my ears it sounds like Red Steagall or a cowboy poet from the Tx Panhandle named Ed Montana.
I can't hear it real well on these lousy laptop speakers, but it sort of sounds like Ranger Doug from Riders In The Sky. When I get home I'll listen to it on my PC. Maybe then I can tell for sure.

@Goodolcountrymusic1 Which is why I said you're entitled to your opinion.
This also means that you'll have to respect other peoples opinions.
Even if they don't agree with you. :)

Now that's a nice gesture. It certainly is a beautiful song sung by a beautiful voice.
Thanks

I tried that but without the actual song, it's almost impossible to be 100% sure.

They have a lot of music on here so you can listen and compare.

Unfortunately I don't have any way to compare this version with that of the Prairie Rose Wranglers but thanks for giving us your opinion Ranger.

It's the Prairie Rose Wranglers from their Full Gallop CD. Stu Stuart is the lead singer.

Nope. Definately NOT Ranger Doug.

This isn't Randy Travis, or Clay Cooper, who both recorded this. It's driving me crazy -- who is this? A way better version than any of the others
