  • Pantera sucks

  • this song is so fun to play on drums. i love streetlights drummer. Who couldn't like beautiful music like Streetlight.

  • @SamJoeBillyBob Assholes who only listen to fake mainstream music thats all about expensive jewellery that you'll never be able to afford, cars that you'll never drive, drugs youve never done and skanky girls you'd never want to get with.

  • @sanctuaryforthelost well...true

  • @sanctuaryforthelost I admired your loyalty to Streetlight, but I don't think that targeting other music was really necessary.. In addition, I'm pretty sure Streetlight supports musical diversity.

  • @CrapInATray true, I guess I should have elaborated, what I mean was that people who listen ONLy to mainstream music would hate this music. Streetlight is all about diversity in music but I'm sure they'd share a similar view with me that very little originality comes from mainstream music today.

  • @SamJoeBillyBob As a drummer, I agree 100% :D

  • @Cerby24 woot!

  • I remember skipping school to smoke up at my best friends place listening to music like this.

  • i love the bass in this song man its amazing like the rest of this album (including this song smart ass lol jk :p )

  • my boyfriend said this makes me think of me <3

  • @KilljoyCrushedDreams I thought emo kids were extinct.

  • @leahjonze nah we're still around

  • Ben *Gibbard* actuall, and he's the lead singer of The Postal Service so its their song. He and Jimmy Tamborello wrote all the tracks on that album, and Iron and Wine's cover was released in 2004 making that the first cover

  • @ashagh1 nooooooooo ( im being sarcastic )

  • If you feel like hating life for a few minutes, search for Confides cover of this song. It's really quite tragic.

  • I DIDN'T EVEN BELIEVE THIS WAS REAL UNTIL I HEARD HIS VOICE AND NOW... I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO

  • This is the best version out there.

  • you do know Postal Service also covered this song. its actually originally by Iron and Wine

  • @Zackplanet42

Actually, no, the song was written by the postal service. Iron & Wine did a cover for PS EP, titled "Such Great Heights", so you could say he was the first cover, but he didnt actually write it.

  • @Zackplanet42 :( research is your friend. Such Great Heights was written by Ben Hibbard.

  • @Zackplanet42 Wrong, Iron and Wine covered Postal Service's song..

  • this song is as good as the original, maybe even better, but in a different way

  • ah they have a style no one can match :3

    <3

  • hahaha love these guys

  • whoooooooooa wtf LOL this is some funny shit

  • @sharkpunch53 what do you mean this is funny ... this is amazing!!!!

  • Confide did way better, !

  • @asdfg21hjkl HAHHAHAHAH what a fucking joke. Confide has no skill compared to Streetlight Manifesto, plus they're two completely different genres of music.

  • @asdfg21hjkl Yeah they're so hard and cool by screaming and stuff...

  • @asdfg21hjkl Is that a joke? Haha

  • @asdfg21hjkl HA GOOD ONE XD

  • the postal service kills it these guys not so much

  • The song doesn't sound quite right at this tempo. I prefer the slower versions.

  • I like the Postal Service but what the Eff ever to those who say their version is better then Streetlights. This is the best version of this song, don't care who wrote it. The beginning on this one the the best.

  • I like ska but I dont like a ska version of this song

  • this song is the Bomb-diggity!

  • @vonbonzai its the bees knees

  • @neoanarchobeatpunk sounds better than the original, no doubt

  • they were so amazing i saw them twice in one week....greatest week of my entire life. so great that i don't think anything could ever top it.

  • Going to see them Dec 4 at Bogart's in Cincy and can't wait!

  • Saw them and RBF 3 months ago, and I'm seeing them again in 6 days. They put on a hell of a show!

  • Honestly, I think it takes a musician or at least someone with experience around wind instruments to truly enjoy this version of the song.

  • @DibuMeister yep. I noticed of all the people I told about ska punk, the band geeks were the ones who were drawn to it.

  • Yeah, they totally raped the original but that's the beauty of it. I mean come on, Such Great Heights as a Ska song? I love and appreciate both versions.

  • When ever i hear this song i think if all the great times i had growing up.

  • @IDesp4rted20 so it's not just me,,, i do that constantly xD must just be how the awesomeness...goes..into..our brain?

  • its the first time i hear this song

    it made me cry ):

  • way to rape a song... not gunna lie it's not that bad though :p

  • how unfitting, the word "gay" is hidden in the address bar

  • @T3hAaron i cracked up when i read that! i actually looked in the address bar to see if you were lieing,, and sure enough you werent.... sad, untrue ( that there gay ) , but..funny :))

  • Such Great Heights... one of my fav songs... redone and done very well! One reason that I love Streelight Manifesto :)

  • wow taking a shit song and making it awesome Streetlight pwns

  • @TheFacelessK Except...the original isn't shit.

  • @Valkodu right..

  • This cover is absolutely ridiculous hahahaha

  • AMAZING COVER! Almost love it as much as the original! I like the softness in the original more. Love both Streetlight and Postal Service so no hatin!

  • oh my god. <3

  • I hate the way the original sounds. But thanks to Streetlight, I can completely appreciate the songwriting prowess of The Postal Service.

  • @MoeJillionaire For whatever it's worth the Postal Service's version was a cover of the original by Iron and Wine.

  • @RainbowsandPirates actually iron and wine covered it.lol.

  • @OwlAteMyCracker Oops, I looked it up and it looks like you're right.

  • @RainbowsandPirates its chill.lol.

  • @RainbowsandPirates It's a common, confusing misconception, I thought the same thing for a long while.

  • @MoeJillionaire See what this music does no more hate, I mean look you could have bitched this guy and called him a fag but no you didn't bravo man.

  • none of streetlights' songs ever get old to me.... ever.... EVER

  • @VraiDave Best Ska band in history! Hands down.

  • @soulinite absolutely no one else better than S.M!

  • Anyone else crack a smile when the bari sax comes in? This song makes my life!

  • @saxolove1832 As a bari player (and player of everything else) it is my responsibility to smile like hell at the bari in all of their songs.

  • Comment removed

  • @saxolove1832 Says "saxolove"

  • @havelava Yes? :P

  • i like it, cause i love ska but i like the original better

  • This song is one of the best off of this album, up there with They Provide The Paint and Skyscraper.

  • @kaykeystetter ummm... this song is by the postal service, not death cab for cutie.

  • @bluishfireworks Its the same band.

  • @kaykerstetter Umad?

  • @kaykerstetter YOU ARE DA WORS AT SPELING SHET TAT I WAN TO DELEET YOUU!

  • @kaykerstetter Obvious troll is obvious.

  • this intro is always the best 30 seconds of my life

  • Just found out this is a cover, listened to the original (pretty good) then listened to this and this one just feels better and feels more honest and genuine. It feels like this is the original and the other is a cover.

  • @rainbrolice Sorry but no.....

  • @transltion No to what? The fact that it is a cover?( to which this is a cover of The Postal Service, even says so in the video.) If not then you must be disagreeing with my opinion, which is perfectly fine but you could expand on your ideas a little more than "Sorry but no.....".

  • ...

    ...

    ...

    This. Is. AWESOME!!!!

  • So I saw Streetlight Live recently, in case you're wondering what it's like, first turn your speakers to 11, make everything even more epic start screaming as loud as you can and imagine buying a Streelight shirt... then you're about halfway as amazing as these guys are in concert. Seriously.

  • Streetlight Manifesto really embodies true musicianship, in both their original songs and these covers. Awesome cover, looking forward to Volume 2!

  • I saw this live, and reel big fish, 2 hours ago, BEST SHOW IN THE UNIVERSE.

  • @f0615388 Ah dude, same here, sucha sick concert dog B)

  • @f0615388 im going on the 14th. was it a mindfuck?

  • @ANBUblackops666 It was fucking amazing, bro, best show ever.

  • @f0615388 Fuck yeah im stoked!

  • Comment removed

  • @f0615388 me too!

  • @f0615388 i saw them in philly and the played this song, I was right in the front literally as far up as you can go. aaron barrett threw me his guitar pick and it made my summer!

  • @f0615388 Hell yeah it was!

  • @f0615388 I saw them at Lupos. Greatest. Concert. Ever. I'll be honest RBF's performance was better, but even then these guys are legendary.

  • @f0615388 im gonna see em both live December 16 xD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH 8D

  • @f0615388 i was at that show...

  • @f0615388 Eek! I see in this coming up december!! :D

  • @f0615388 I saw that show twice! Once in Poughkeepsie and twice in NYC. Such an awesome show

  • @f0615388 I WAS THERE

  • @f0615388 im seein em friday :)

  • saw them live last night My life could end and i wouldnt give a fuck they made my life complete

  • HAHA I'm sorry but when the song came on, I couldn't help but laugh. Not that it's bad, just that the way they went about it is pretty comical in my opinion.

In a way, it kinda chills me out. Like I feel pretty relaxed listening to this. Of course it's slightly more "high" than the Postal Service version, but it still kinda works, I guess?

  • Just saw them in concert the other day. Amazing.

  • @duspic77 Why you no thumb me up?

  • :')

  • ahhhh such an awesome song made more awesomeeeeee yeah streetlight live long!!!!!!!

  • I really don't believe i was being overly harsh with MY opinion of this. I don't think it was an overly brash comment to be honest. I apologize if it offended anyone. It was simply that... an opinion.

  • they sound like SUBLIME :D

  • i actually really liked CONFIDES cover <3

  • streetlight rocks!!!

  • I think I found a new favorite band.

  • the Section Quartet... my bad.

  • Worst version of this. Covers in order from greatest to least greatest. Confide, Street Corner Symphony, Iron and Wine, Streetlight Manifesto. It sounds like Sublime... which is NOT a good thing.

  • @justin882013 Yes because everyone loves to listen to scream-o -.- it's all about preference, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's the worst...

  • @justin882013

Why must you complain? No one cares, but its okay. Everyone has different taste, I agree confides cover if definitely the best though.

  • @justin882013 Damn man, we are quite the opposite, and i even have 20 gigs of metal on my ipod. Everything from NWOBHM to Brutal Death Metal. And you know what i have to say?

    CONFIDE SUCKS DUDE!

  • @justin882013 That's just your opinion...Even if you were a professional music critic (which you aren't) it would still be just opinion, a matter for everyone to decide for themselves.

  • thank you for uploading :)

  • lol they are more popcore anyways so yeah they are a little more sissy than say Born of Osiris

  • confides cover is so much better

  • So much better live.

  • @mohawkofsteam i feel they are better live because of the atmosphere in the concert and the fact that every single person at the show knows all the words to all the songs and sings along

  • are they this good in concert

  • @16warriorfireheart YESSSS! I saw them last night, and they were beyond amazing

  • @localgrom52 dam i wan on the top right part of it ....you?/

  • @16warriorfireheart hell no, they're better!

  • @BlitzWalrus17 i found out last nite :D

  • @16warriorfireheart dude, just wait, i think they're playing the same song next.

  • @BlitzWalrus17 enjoy it man....it went by too quick for meee

  • @16warriorfireheart I hear they're playing another show at the staples center!

  • @BlitzWalrus17 when??

  • Saw this last night, fucking beautiful..

  • Ska covers are always better, no exceptions, ever.... Saving Ferris - Come on Eileen, Reel Big Fish - Take on Me, Goldfinger - 99 Red Balloons ( my personal favorite.)

  • intro is good, thats about it...

  • The intro s amazing.

  • catch 22 has not been that good at all since Kalnoky left. The only good song they made since he left is what goes around comes around - Catch 22.

  • damn good

  • This is personally my favorite version of the song. It captured the jubilant energy of the lyrics perfectly in the horn flares, and that intro was SICK!

I loved the original, and I loved this too.

  • way better than the scream cover haha

  • Ive always been a big fan of catch 22, and the postal service. they killed it! great cover.

  • @coppiggy26 No catch 22 here, sir. Only remnant of 22 in Streetlight Manifesto is Kalnoky.

  • i like the Confide cover better.

    LOL JK.

ruined the damn song in my opinion, confide >.>

  • @TheRussianBearr yea the only good part at confide's version was the intro^^

  • seriously the point of the cover is to give a different version if they made another complete copy of the song what would be the point. They are doing the song to there style

  • Gonna learn Bari sax part on my tuba.

  • I think it's great that all the versions are very different, it doesn't sound like the same song at all.

This version makes me happy ^^

  • this song just puts a smile on your face :)

  • im in love with a song

  • no, amazing

  • fail

  • @metaZen

Sorry, you must be deaf. I feel bad for people like you :(

  • Anyone know where I can get a bass tab for this song?

  • damn. sounds like they took the original, raped it, pumped it with crack, then raped it once more.

  • @crazyydemetri postal service is my favorite band and i think SLM did a fantastic job ^-^

  • @crazyydemetri is that a good thing???

  • Who can listen to this song and not smile?

  • @Rawrzoz Sorry, you must have no soul.

But nether do I, And I still cant.

  • @TalkingTadPol i tried and failed...

  • I've heard this one, the original by Postal Service, and the Iron and Wine cover. I don't see why all these people are picking favorites. They just have different feelings to them. This is a more excited version, while the other two are more laid back and slow and quiet.

  • This cover is good in it's own way. I think that the guitar after the chorus is really cool.

  • BUT! (i forgot to add) the intro is ausome..streetlight is uber talented and i love them!!! so don't think of this as me "hatin!"

  • though it's a cover, iron and wine does this song the very and absolute best :)

you're right webcreeper... this version doesn't get the feel of it... it's just not right

  • sorry guys, but i dont like this version. i still prefer the postal service version, and the 'iron and wine' cover. i dont feel this song gets the feeling of the song. the songs supposed to be more chilled out than this. but interesting cover lol

  • @webcreeper2002 I agree but the postal service version is actually the cover
