  • Nice. Very helpful.

  • That's cool, but you need to slow down a little bit when demonstrating your stuff! folks watching this are going to get dizzy - joking

  • i dosent work

  • it didn't work...

  • all this did was make me dizzy

  • Haha it actuelly worked!

There are SO many videos on youtube that show you how to make an icon, but in those videos, you'll have to download photoshop and a pack FOR photoshop, it takes alot of time, but you can just use PAINT!?

    Haha nice, nice ;-)

  • I did just need to see which name it use to be or somethin YAYA i knowwwww its damnd .ico

  • "We'll just use the HTML folder... I don't know what that is."

  • 32 32 64 64 128 128 like family guy

  • not worked for me whyyy?????

  • @nakllatit Make sure that the save type is "24-bit Bitmap (*.bmp;*.dib)". I'm not sure if the poster forgot to mention it, or if it was not known as it was the default when paint was first attempted to be saved. Hope that helps.

  • Excellent video. I've watched about five of these in the last thirty minutes. Yours laid out the foundation perfectly. Much appreciated. Don't let these less fortunate knuckle draggers and their self humiliating ankle bites get you down. You'll be a Millionaire by Thirty, and they'll be getting your coffee.

  • va se fuder seu otario eu so brasileiro pau no cu

  • why do you sound like ellen degenerous? O_o

  • NOOB

  • You must add most peoples computer saves the file as jpg right under the file name you must change it to 24-bit Bitmap... or it will not work.

  • Where can I download this Paint?? I had it but then the stupid guy that cleaned it erased it!

  • one day i made an icon with the same steps u using... then on my 2nd chance didnt work -.-;; good work btw at least u trying to help, maybe me and u missing some steps or dunno, but ur video helps a lot ;)

  • shaky and dizzy

  • Any decent ico should contain images of various sizes in order to look the way they are intended when being viewed using different settings to the operating system . I prefer to do from 32px to 256px as that covers anything that's likely to be used at the moment.

  • it works really

  • Dude - don't post videos if you have no idea what you're talking about. Changing a bitmap file extension to .ico doesn't make it an Icon file.

  • That's a bmp file with the name pict.ico but it still's be a bmp file

  • I tried it. TI DON'T WORK!

  • must change right under the name you change file to 24-bit Bitmap.... for it to work when you save it@jrdsjr

  • Great work. thanks for sharing keep it up

  • YES! You have Diablo in your disk drive. That's GREAT!

  • Thank you so much i at first thought i had to download a picture converter program!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude awsome, but how do i make a transperant icon m'kay?

  • This doesn't work...when I try and assign the new icon, it tells me that the ico file contains no icons...

  • Cute Voice

  • Heh, heh, thanks, You've got a cool voice.

I like how you knew exactly what you were doing and how you were right to the point, but explanitory

  • You can change the icon of practically everything on your computer.

  • thanks heaps dude

  • LOL, cute voice. (:

  • found this by accident but... this is the most basic way to create an icon and it is not complete. Yes Paint saves BMP format, which used to be the standard for .ico. But not anymore. A complete icon is a set of icons of multiple resolutions. usually 16x16, 32x32, etc. in BMP format and with Vista you have high resolution 256x256 *PNG* format.

You need a real icon editor to create these.

  • so confusing

  • Cool! I'v been looking for info on how to do this!

  • no offence but your not a kid are you?

  • kool ty that rocked but speak louder

  • thank u thank u thank u

  • OMG teach me how to make a mouse!

  • I LOVE YOU IRA

  • man u talk fast

  • good stuff, i always wanted to make icons but i did not want to download a program. to think all it came down to was .ico, i feel so stupid. thanks for the video and it was great.

  • is there any way to make the icons background not black

  • hmmmm...

you could try puting a little grey dot in each of the corners of the pic. it still looked balck as a stand alone icon in the list type menu but when i added it ti wasent black. other wise i dont know. ill try to see how to fix that

  • @wildweelz

acutally u can if u use real workd icon/cursor editor and put image there and save it cuz it makes non painted parts transparent

  • ty m8

  • Nice informative video..i did not know that. Some feedback would be to zoom out a bit. but if you cant do that dont worry about it.

In answer to your question...my matrix paint video took more than 50 hours. I'm not quite sure how many tho.
