In a world of oppression, it is inhumane to ask teaching to be 'neutral'. Indeed, it is impossible to be neutral: not talking about/discussing issues only serves to perpetuate them. There is no indoctriation in critical pedagogy: teachers do not 'force' opinions onto learners, but encourage learners to think about the world and how they could change it for the better.
You are so right in your observation. America has had enough of the anti-banking methods that simply do not work. Our students need a base before they can read and do basic math, for example.
When they are more mature and have the basic skills, then these Freireians can attempt to inculcate their Marxist hate.
