@p0lar0id Thats really cool. Have you seen the new 50000 S. Korean Won? The yellow one which is the first to feature a woman on it...or is that just a joke. I have heard about it and I have seen pictures of it. If its really real then I want to get one. lol
@Money15Collector Good. I want to get one then. Let me know when you make an updated video. Also, where did you find that Oblivion music for your video? I think it really fit the "korean style" if you know what I mean. In other words it sounded like korean music...
@Money15Collector I got the music from the Oblivion computer game CD. I believe I just copied it straight from the data files. Yes, it does sound very "korean." :)
@p0lar0id Oh alright. I looked it up on line and it kept coming up as a computer game and I did not know what it was talking about. Well good video. And go Korean Won! haha That was probably very dorky, but still its cool money.
That is an awesome video! I just loved how you did it! :) I only have the 1000 Won though...my friend from Korea is bring me back both the 5000 and 10000 Won when she comes back to school this coming year.
I'm an American numismatist (that means "coin collector"), and I am currently collecting S. Korean coins (1W, 10W, 50W, 100W and 500W coins).
I'd like to know WHO designed the coins at the Bank of Korea (especially the coin designs of 1966[1, 5, 10Won], 1970 [100Won], 1972 [50Won], and 1982 [500Won]? In the USA, we know all about the designers of US coins (Longacre, Brenner, Gasparro), but it seems that there is not much info on the Korean designers of S. Korean coins. Could you help?
And part of the reason I say that is because the notes really are attractive. Any new additions apart from being easier on the wallet would also be great works of art.
Korean currency denomination has too many zeros and only three levels of bills. They should come out with new currency denominations similar to US Dollar or Euro, because these are much easier to deal with and much easier on your eyes.
Are the Korean currency denominations the remnants of Japanese colonial era? They are very much like Japanese Yen.
Hey, um, any Koreans in the house? I'm a Malaysian. My counrty's currency is Ringgit. 1 ringgit = 383 won. So now i'd like 2 know, if in Malaysia i can buy a loaf of bread for RM2, how much would it cost 2 buy a loaf of bread in s.Korea? I'll b goin 2 Seoul next yr 4 sports.
Where did you find this music? I don't know why but it fits the Korean theme well!

Its time the Bank of Korea produced a proper 50000 and 100000 Won notes. It might be time to make a 1000 Won coin now too.

if a 1000 won bill is a dollar, would the 500coin be a half dollar or 1 uk pound
southviet890 3 years ago
If the exchange rate with the dollar was 1:1 (currently $1=1300won), yes the 500 won coin would be a half dollar.

I don't remember where but i red that soon there will be brand new one 100.000won ticket, do you know about that?
sarangkorean 3 years ago
I know that Korea already has a 100,000 won ticket. I'm not sure if that's the one that you're talking about. I don't know if it's new or old.
p0lar0id 3 years ago
it must be. but why did i never saw it? did you? if it's official, it must be everywhere...
sarangkorean 3 years ago
It's official, you can get it from ATM's but it's not really a bill, more like a check you have to sign on the back.
