He may or may not have had that disease but the burns he suffered in that Pepsi Cola commercial could be the reason he attempted to give his skin a consistent coloration. Vitiligo generally causes loss of pigment in patches. So he may have had burn scar tissue and a case of Vitiligo for which he may have decided to suppress the level of Melanin and attain a consistent skin tone. I doubt that he had much choice in the matter.

MJ makeup artist said that they used dark make up to cover the light spots but when the disease accelerated, they began using very light make-up to cover the dark spots. In all, MJ decided to go ahead and get it evened out, since there is no cure for advanced vitiligo!
My cousin and aunt have Vitiligo, if you guys do your research and actually look up interviews you would know that he used makeup to hide the transformation, that way he wouldnt look weird, but my aunts has already spread all over, she used to be dark brown now she is very pale, and my cousins is still spreading, but yes this does look like vitiligo

He never "bleached" his skin. Before it was so bad they would put dark make up on the white patches, and then it got so bad that they couldn't do that and had to put light make up on what was left of his dark skin.

There's no doubt that Michael had vitiligo - there are dozens of photos out there which clearly show the condition. I think people didn't believe him because it was just another opportunity to hate him. He could have been more open and showed the world his discoloured skin but why shoud he? It was a very personal, embarrassing condition which he tried desperately to keep hidden and he should have had that right without being ridiculed or doubted. Shame on those who continue to call him a liar.

People who bleach go paler and paler, and evidently their goes in patches, finally very fair, this is no proof, it just confirms his whiteness was not a birth condition but an obsession to change. He could afford it and was scared of getting skin cancer because of it. no one i know uses a umbrella to protect them from the sun but skin bleachers hide from the sun wrecking their skin bleaching, JUST some FACTS sorry. He may or may not have had that disease but the burns he suffered in that Pepsi Cola commercial could be the reason he attempted to give his skin a consistent coloration. Vitiligo generally causes loss of pigment in patches. So he may have had burn scar tissue and a case of Vitiligo for which he may have decided to suppress the level of Melanin and attain a consistent skin tone. I doubt that he had much choice in the matter.

Close, Micheal had to have been extremely strong, stubborn, higly intelligent - because he gave us all the joy in the world despite everything. And he even was working on come back after all he had been through. When someone opts to have the rest of the skin match the depigmented portion of the body, a person can take a shot, which will destroy the rest of the pigmentation. MJ makeup artist said that they used dark make up to cover the light spots but when the disease accelerated, they began using very light make-up to cover the dark spots. In all, MJ decided to go ahead and get it evened out, since there is no cure for advanced vitiligo!

My cousin and aunt have Vitiligo, if you guys do your research and actually look up interviews you would know that he used makeup to hide the transformation, that way he wouldnt look weird, but my aunts has already spread all over, she used to be dark brown now she is very pale, and my cousins is still spreading, but yes this does look like vitiligo

@canthit396 not true. patches are initially small, they often enlarge and change shape. in non-segmental vitiligo (NSV), there is usually some form of symmetry in the location of the patches of depigmentation. new patches also appear over time and can be generalized over large portions of the body or localized to a particular area.
