Coyote, this is true. It was because of this very thing that Blizzard changed the way mend pet works. They made it so that all spell power is nil for hunters. NOTHING benefits from SP anymore.
I do the same on EU-Germany- Mug'thol with my Taure-Hunter on lvl 70 without wotlk on t6 but i have elite beasts (nucleardog) because patch. i need 109minuts to kill azuregos. video coming sone...

You do get achievements for the solo of world bosses...its just they are feats of Strength, the ones that aren't listed till you achieve them(like the brewfest steins or having the collector's edition pets). Either way, its definitely not hard to imagine people other than hunters soloing. It's easiest to imagine paladins, death knights, druids, and shamans over a hunter...
Also, Mend Pet didn't become a Heal over Time spell until patch 2.1, which was released after Burning Crusade. Prior to that, Mend Pet was still a channeled spell for all Hunters, even level 70s.

You can clearly see on his bars he has abilities that aren't available until lvl 61+ (like Aspect of the Viper, which we get at lvl 64). He is also using a white carrion bird. I challenge you to find a pet like that in Azeroth. There is only one in game & he's in Outlands. This Hunter is 70. Mend Pet became a HoT in patch 2.1, AFTER BC.

He is 60, You cannot make out any kind of VIper sting, which is easily any other spell, ive seen a constant serpent sting on him for sections, and maybe Scorpid for others. That was not Steady Shot, that was mend pet being channelled. Also, great job, Pre-Bc, anything is possible

How sure are you about that? Netherstrand has the same skin as MELMORTA'S TWILIGHT LONGBOW, a LVL 68 blue BoP drop from Black Morass. I was still using a lvl 68 bow (although mine was from Shattered Halls) when I hit 70 all the way until I got Valanos off the AH.

lol you're a scrub. I 2 manned Azuregos yesterday with a terribly geared resto druid. The fight took us over 40 minutes (t4 prot warrior & kara resto druid).
Azuregos was also soloed by a warlock - check the screenshots.
The bow he is using is Melmorta's Twilight Longbow from Black Morass. It uses the same skin as the TK bow. You are a friggin moron. This was also before the change to 'mend pet', although I am sure a hunter could still solo this.
i agree that it could be done IF his pet could actually hold the aggro and take that damage wich i seriously doubt that he did. and seeing that he was critting 500's i doubt that he had the hours to hold a 2 hour fight and still kill the boss.
OK im just gonna clear something real fast: Azurgos is a RAID LVL BOSS, a SKULL, so no matter what lvl YOU are hes ALWAYS 3 lvls higher than u. This was done on a normal server, its very possible, just Azurgos can still cause some damage and still resist alot of ur crap. Hunters CAN do this, maybe an afflic or demo lock with good gear and a plan. Just cause its a freakin raid boss does not mean its a freakin private server.

127 minutes = 2 hours and 7 minutes
In the video, you state it took you an hour and 27 minutes.
It's pretty common for people to not calculate hours into minutes properly.
And yes, this Hunter is LEVEL 70. Notice Aspect of the Viper on his bars and his pet. Neither of which is obtainable until after level 60.

nice job downing a world boss solo with the mend pet 1400 healing but your a nub because at 3:50 in the vid you showed its a private server because your using Netherstrand longbow which is a TK legendary which cant be taken out unless its a PRIVATE SERVER!!!! Pwned Noob

How sure are you about that? Netherstrand has the same skin as MELMORTA'S TWILIGHT LONGBOW, a LVL 68 blue BoP drop from Black Morass. I was still using a lvl 68 bow (although mine was from Shattered Halls) when I hit 70 all the way until I got Valanos off the AH.
I hold this video as being 95% credible, I only wish he'd posted his Hunter's name so I can look him up and check whether this is an official char.

lol you're a scrub. I 2 manned Azuregos yesterday with a terribly geared resto druid. The fight took us over 40 minutes (t4 prot warrior & kara resto druid).
Azuregos was also soloed by a warlock - check the screenshots.
The bow he is using is Melmorta's Twilight Longbow from Black Morass. It uses the same skin as the TK bow. You are a friggin moron. This was also before the change to 'mend pet', although I am sure a hunter could still solo this.

i agree that it could be done IF his pet could actually hold the aggro and take that damage wich i seriously doubt that he did. and seeing that he was critting 500's i doubt that he had the hours to hold a 2 hour fight and still kill the boss.

OK im just gonna clear something real fast: Azurgos is a RAID LVL BOSS, a SKULL, so no matter what lvl YOU are hes ALWAYS 3 lvls higher than u. This was done on a normal server, its very possible, just Azurgos can still cause some damage and still resist alot of ur crap. Hunters CAN do this, maybe an afflic or demo lock with good gear and a plan. Just cause its a freakin raid boss does not mean its a freakin private server.

its still old world tho. he (the boss) is geared to take on much weaker things. a lot of its attacks are now much easier to resist, dodge, and block, plus it will miss more often.
i would have respect for it, but its a BM hunter, so no.

You don't even need to be BM to be badass. I'm MM and I solo'd the Stockade at Level 28-29 and Razorfen Kraul at Level 31-32.
