can you find another singer like this. its very dificult. here in Perú many people enjoy the style and quality of Dean Martin . thanks for share this and more.
I love Dean Martin, he had it all going for him. My mom use to dance to his songs when she played his music. A very sweet memories....................
It just seems so unfair that i will never see the great ones perform live. People like Dean that have given others so much joy should be rewarded with coming back 25 years after they die ! but thats just a selfish thought i guess.
@tamerswan What I like about YouTube is that there's a renaissance of this kind of music. When I was a teen in the 90s, it was kind of a "dark ages" for oldies in that teens usually would do anything to avoid listening to oldies. When oldies played, I was usually the only one that enjoyed it (though I remember at a dance a few other kids liked Rock Around The Clock). Now I see lots of young people (born 1960 and later) getting into those oldies but goodies.
I've been listening to Dean Martin since I was seven years old and loved him since! THanks Nannan for introducing me to this perfect example of real music.
Thank you, Celtic Frost. Two songs, two distinct moods, one constant: Both give me beautifully rich mental images!! I will listen to these tracks until the moonlight turns to dust :)
@holmansmashbros I don't know if you consider me a peer, since I'm 26, but you can count me among the young people that appreciate good music. I grew up on a lot of oldies thanks to my Baby Boomer parents that grew up in the 50s and early 60s.
What a voice !!!! one of the favorite songs of my mother who gones to heaven the 06 august 2010, god bless you mum, i always thinck of you and love you, makes me cry when i listen to this song, one of the best singer of all times, god bless you dean !!
Does anyone know or remember if this song was in a soundtrack from a 1960's movie? I am sure it was,but I cant recall the name of the movie??!! Thanks!
* "In the Chapel in the Moonlight" (1936) - words & music by B.H. Hit, Rec'd first by Ruth Etting, then Shep Fields, Kitty Kallen (1954), and Dean Martin (1967).
Many other artists, both country & pop recorded it also including Kitty Kallen and Faron Young just to name a couple.
i louv dean martin he is the best, and that voice of his is like he's been touched by an angel, he was so talented. To bad they will never be another like Dino.R.I.P. Mr Martin
My favorite Deano song....Does anyone know what movie this song was used in?Parents took me to a movie when I was a kid and this was in it,like mid 60s?Thanks!
Just one of the many songs that Dean did an excellent job with. I recently heard what was probably the original version of this song. It was from 1954, by Sonny Till & The Orioles. I had been wondering how old it is.
My Mom had all of Dino's albums with this song being one of the songs on one of them.. I never tired of Mom playing his records. His voice was silky and soft and wonderful to listen to .
This song has a version from the european black metal group called Celtic Frost. It´s really bizarre and i like the group more for their diversity in music tastes.
I know it sounds corny but my dad went out slowly listening to his favourite tape of his favourite man..Mr Dean Martin... What a drag lovely people have to pass on..
I remember riding in the car in western Kansas as a child at night on the way to Colorado for a family vacation and hearing this on the radio. The song brings back nice memories, and my father always loved this song. Dean always made singing seem so effortless.
I remember this when I was about 10. when I hear it I think of my sister Debbie.r.i.p. sis.

How I love to hear the organ in the chapel in the moonlight
While we're strolling down the aisle where roses entwine
How I love to hear you whisper in the chapel in the moonlight
That the lovelight in your eyes forever will shine.
Till the roses turn to ashes, till the organ turns to rust
If you never come I'll still be there till the moonlight turns to dust
How I love to hear the choir in the chapel in the moonlight
As they sing "Oh Promise Me" forever be mine.
