Everyone whos taking shit about the blow dryer, this works. I had the "red ring of death" and my friend fixed it with the blow dryer and some other things that involved things such as sand paper but it worked. The catch is that it will give your console another year of life until it dies completely.

this is not the way to do it, it may work but you have the chance of damaging it even more... take off the Xclamps and clean out the Thermos paste and the heat sinks as well at the gpu and cpu then put new thermos paste and I recommend to put a slim tiny square piece of aluminum between the heat sink and the gpu and cpu. once your done put everything together and it should work perfectly.

this is know by alot of people and I am not taking any responsibility for anything.

E-74 might be fixed by GPU re-pasting. The best way for me was the gluegun "idea'. But i never used the gluegun. I baked my xbox in the oven for about 5 mins at 425. I did the normal re-pasting and it worked for another few weeks then had to do it again.Granted you must remove everything from the mob. It beats not having an xbox (saving for a ps3). I only suggest doing this if the X-clamp fix has failed after time and you already have the gear (and also desperate).

E74 error has to do with the HANA chip, aka the GPU chip. Why are you blowing on the heatsink?
