@LeonardThynn That's right, it's by John Denver. And the one Ghibli used in "Whisper..." was performed by Olivia Newton John.

@SANNAFABICH Actually, only the opening lyrics were performed by Olivia. The ending credits were performed by Yoko Honna, with different words. (This might differ in the subbed version, I wouldn't know. I never watch the subbed versions...they irritate me:3) I think they didn't use John Denver's performance because it's a movie about a girl, not a boy :P It gives a different mood.

@LeonardThynn Well, not to be pedantic but that was kind of obvious :D. In either case, both renditions are awesome. One of my favorites Ghibli movies, and yeah, dubs suck and should never see the day of light.

The Rose is written by Amanda McBroom, and they translated it to Japanese and used it for the end credits...It's strange. Studio Ghibli used two of my alltime favourite songs for their movies.

Though I'm 23 years old, Miyazaki's animations never seem old nor limited to only childrens.

His imagination and creative minds touch everyone's heart regardless of age.

Along that, music seems like an unnoticed gem, simply wonderful.

I love Miyazaki's work recently. Though I have founded in 2010, his works never look old or limited.

His work of animation perceives truth to me when it never ages or bounded by age.
