Ricer can't take it! Muscle to good for import! Face it people! Muscle wins and owns looks better 90 maybe 95% of the time. And they can turn if you build it to turn dumbasses.
@3U4NC4MPB311 you are absolutely correct.. what is your point? its still a muscle car.. this video was ricers vs muscle cars... not imports vs domestics.
Oh dont forget the arguement of "well my car is all wheel drive" but its a shame how my '12 MustangGt can out perform nd out right dog the shit outta ur car with just 2 wheels! Plus wid simple bolt on my car is push over 500 nd thats not even gettn serious. You can throw on all the lights nd pretty color but the only light i care about is my tail lights when i blow pass you. Lmao
we know where you import fucks come from by your back rounds i saw planet of the aps compared to muscle car owners where we scare the shit out of people with a v8
This was funny for the first few minutes but then got stupid :/ I love muscle cars throught and through but it love my import cars to, as of now i have a 87 Chysler Conquest(Mitsubishi Starion with Chrysler badging) and i love it to death RWD can throw you back in the seat and has more torque than hp. But in your video you say all imports are ricers pretty much did you know there are mid 6 sec 4cyls? some even had to be tuned down to be legal to race. Dont be so biased against imports dude.
@DSMeclipsegst First of all, a 6 sec 1/4 mi car with ANY engine isn't a road car which is what was depicted in this vid. Do you really think you could drive any car that fast from stoplight to stoplight without vaporizing the clutch, the tires, or your patience? And again, I'll tell you what I've told countless other people. I don't hate imports, I hate ricers, there's a difference.
@DSMeclipsegst Have you ever heard of John Sheppard? He has a 7 Sec Eagle Talon that is actually street legal 4cyls btw there is also a Nova or somthing like that that runs 6s and is still street legal so you cant say there arnt any 6 sec cars that isnt street legal
@DSMeclipsegst I didn't say 'street legal'. I have no doubt they're street /legal/, but do you really think you can drive them around on the street? Do you even know what high horsepower numbers feel like? 400-500 is as much horsepower that's enjoyable to drive around with typically. 600, 700, etc is just too violent and it's not fun to drive around. The clutches you have to use will wear your leg out in a couple minutes, you can't even breathe on the throttle without wheelspin. It's a pain.
Nice car bro I have a 4 year old little girl named corvette, I also like the way you got all the kids that have seen the fast and the furious to many times crying about how fast their first car is, nice car, nice vid, well done all the way
anyone who says "imports suck" is a fucking fat, inbred white trash bitch who knows not worth shit about cars and drives a rusted piece of shit Chevy Corsica.
@xXCannonXx Well actually A 351 can be a small block and a big block, if its a 351 windsor its a small block if its a 351 cleveland its a big block. (But thats ford talk, i mean im all for muscle cars in general but im a chevy guy)
i don't hate muscle car, but this video is kinda bias....a gtr alpha 12 does the 1/4 mile in 8 seconds (with street slicks) and corners the Nuremberg faster than a Bugatti, now show me a funny car or top fuel dragster that can do that. Every type of car has its pros and cons, you are just too fucking bias
@ps3thrumpsanDAMthing Of course the video's biased, it's in the title. And the thing I keep telling people is that this video isn't against imports, it's against ricers, there's a difference. A GTR isn't a ricer, of course if someone bought one put stupid wheels, body kit, exhaust on it, then it would be. And you should know that the Bugatti doesn't handle for shit, it's a 4,000lbs bus with 1000 horsepower. The first test driver Bugatti had got injured in it because of chassis instability.
@Acronexuz Nice choice, any preference on the engine you'd have in it? Or just care about the car's style? I mean all the engines for those cars are stout, so I can't blame you if you just like the body.
OK it is a rice excuse to say!"I get better gas mileage" OK dumb ass of course you do even though by the time your done supping up your Honda to be as fast as a muscle car its only getting 20-25 mpgs but with enough brains and money you can make them fast
@nathanlam654321 Yeah, there are some trashed domestic ricers. A Ricer isn't a Japanese car by default, a Ricer is any car that's been tastelessly modified as far as body kits, exhaust tips, stickers etc. I've seen riced Corvettes, Mustangs, Mercedes, Ferrari, etc. But 90% of Ricers due tend to be imports because it's what the high school kids buy and butcher.
I don't hate imports, they make some cool stuff. But the fucking 2jz was not forged by fucking god. Back in the 70s we had 4 bolt mains, the 2jz is 2 bolt. No race engine is fucking two bolt! I hate fucking ricer people that talk shit out their ass and can defend a motor for what it is. An iron block with a turbo, how cheap.
@ybafool2 Well here's the catch-22 for that. A 2-bolt main is stronger than a straight 4-bolt main block as the straight 4-bolt design weakens the webbing for the crank. But racing blocks are usually what are called Splayed-4-bolt mains. Meaning that the two inner bolts are straight down into the register, and the outer 2 bolts thread in at an angle away from the center of the webbing to preserve it's integrity. I think the LS-7 is a 6 bolt, though lol.
@weaverracing96 I understand that, all of the LSx motors are 6 bolt. But everyone says the 1jz was forged by god. If i had an MkI or MkII Supra, I would put' in the 1uz, 2uz, whatever. A Uz motor is a 6 bolt, DOHC, all aluminum v8. It is a way better design than the 2jz and not heavy. These people tank 30+ and crap to reach 800whp and more. When your aiming for that power why would you start with a 3.0 when you could have a 4.0 or 4.6 UZ motor?
@ybafool2 It won't need NOS to spool off the line and would need way less boost to make big power. I just think that people are clouded with ricer talk and only think the 2jz is the best, when there are many more options. And the price to find a 2jz is insane! Its an over priced motor and then all your going to have is what, 300whp and then you have to get a bigger turbo and internals later? Its not a great bang for the buck. I can see building it if it came in the car, but as a motor swap?
@ybafool2 . And from what I've seen on the web, I see that it is a straight 4 bolt, not the splayed one. But I have not seen the motor taken apart in person lol
@ybafool2 It's all subjective and there's no 'perfect world', so the engines alot of people end up with are just what was available to them at the time. Really, one of the points of me putting up this video is that the average builder isn't going to have 50,000 dollars to put into a car. And I think with 5,000 dollars, you can have a domestic car that is alot more fun than an import. Alot of that is because of price/availability, JDM perf. parts are pricey.
For example, with a 5,000 dollar budget. I paid 4,000 for that stingray at the end of the video, I've since sold it since it was a bit too small for me, I'm 6'7. And I bought an '81 Firebird (last year of Smokey n Bandit style) for 3,000, so with a 5,000 dollar budget, I'd still ahve 2,000 to put into the 350(5.7l) in the firebird and have a pretty unique, fun car to drive. Much moreso than if I went an import route and gotten a Silvia or 300zx (Nissan is my make of choice in imports).
To weaver...I hear ya there were some nice domestics built through the 80s and it's good they can combine emissions with horse power now, I still like the oldies. How about this comparison...“A Ricer has his buddy film their speed while he tries to eccelerate...A muscle car owners buddy can't film speed, he's to busy holding on to something other than a camera when driver bangs gears” Hope ya like it.
@myNifty350 How about, "A ricer has his douchebag friend film his speed with a cell phone while he accelerates to 70mph through a school zone. A muscle car owner needs a mounting bracket and a pro-grade camera,"?
AWESOME VIDEO!!! It's good their are younger red blooded real Americans that appreciate these old classics. When I was in high school a guy would have got his ass kicked and laughed out of school for putting loud exhaust on a fucking Honda. Anyone who thinks Americans can't build cars..these old beauties are coveted and sought after the world over. Stick that in your 4 cylinder artificial muscle cars chrome sewer pipe and smoke it!!
@myNifty350 I think I was born a few generations too late sometimes lol. But if I was born back then, I wouldn't have been able to grow up with the 4th Gen F-body Trans-Ams and Camaros, and see the C6 Corvettes that debuted in 2005. Anytime from the mid 60s till 2011, I can find at least a few American cars that I love. Hell, the 80's were considered the worst generation for American cars, but we had the Monte SS, the GNX, the Iroc-Z, and Foxbody 5.0s
i love this video i have a 78 malibu with a 350 and there was always ricer tring to race me i would just look at them and laugh i would be driving it know but there a header gasket out and an oil leak but when that gets fixed she'll be on the road again
my great aunt up in idaho (who is like 85 years old) has an all original 70challenger r/t with a 340 6pk with 2500 miles on it...all quater mile passes...its never been licened...EVER..she also has an all original (minus the motor..it runs low 11s) 68 camaro ss once again with like 3000 miles all quater mile passes never licenced she starts em up once a year and drives em around the block and changes the oil in em periodically
@bad65stang Pretty cool, kind of a shame in my eyes, though. I'd love to see cars like that cruising on the road or at the strip. But to each their own.
i don't care if your a GM,Ford,Chrysler or AMC guy the only thing that matters is if you drive a worthless JDM and think it's the best thing in the world.
I'm a Chevrolet guy too!!!!!!!! I also work at a Chevrolet dealership!!!!!! I made 65 sales!!!!!!!!!! I really want our brand new Camaro SS and Silverado 1500!!!!!!!! Screw the piece of crap rice Toyotas!!!!! We must DESTROY TOYOTA!!!!!!!!!
@weaverracing96 I'm glad you're a Chevy fan. I really want the new 2011 Camaro SS!!!!!! I'll swap it with a NASCAR V8 with twin turbos, twin inercoolers and twin air intakes!!!!!!! I also want the new Silverado 1500!!!!!! I'll lift it up, give it 66 inch tires, powered by a Detroit Diesel 8v71!!!!!!!
@MrChevrolet94 None of that's really feasible, to be honest lol. The engine utilized by NASCAR Chevrolet teams is the R07 package, it's a carbuerated pushrod engine with very high compression and is honestly not good for the street since it's cam causes it to not make good power till 5000-6000RPM. And you can't twin turbo or anything of that sort to an engine like that. The Camaro SS comes with the LS3, 6.2l that makes 435hp, it's a good enough engine from the factory.
But if you really wanted, you could swap in an LS7, 7.0L engine from the Z06 C6 Corvette, 505hp and very good all around package. Then there's always the LS9, 6.2L Supercharged engine from the Corvette ZR1. I like your enthusiasm and all, but you have alot to learn about engines yet. You're young, though, and you have plenty of time. There are alot of sites that can teach you a good bit regarding the basics in performance, all the way up to the professional level of understanding.
I love this video im glad there are people that share the disgust in ricers like i do. Cant stand ricers with 3 foot spoilers or wings on them (like they need them) and radio systems and rims cost more than the p.o.s ricer or put on fart cans on their cars to make it sound like they have an engine. My friend owns a 1971 Chevelle with a 383 stroker and i wish that cars are still built like that and actually have the power and the looks than a poor ricer
@rich6955 Appreciate it, been thinking of doing a video of vintage indy 500s, old nascar, old 24 hours of le mans, just alot vintage motorsports. even some slingshot dragsters and such
I know a 240sx in my area with a 2jz swap (work done by Mudpit Performance in Princeton Texas). I was next to him doing about 80mph, he stomped on it and was about 1/4 mile away from me in 4-5 seconds. That's his "80-whatever" acceleration. White 240, black hood. Stickers. Huge "ricer" muffler. It would stomp a zr1 SO badly. I see a few ZR1s here in Dallas/Plano Texas. My fiero can't beat them, but they can't pull like that 240 did.
@psychoninja911 ZR-1 isn't a drag car. Take the 240 and take the ZR-1 to the Nurburgring or Circuirt de la Sarthe. You can't put enough money into a 240 or Supra, or anything like that to make it as good of an all around performer as the ZR-1. Braking, Acceleration, Handling, the C6 chassis is just without equal for the price.
@gordysuggs Lmfao.......Nice fake NOS bottle and Ostrich skin seats in your Camaro.BTW where do they breed vinyl skinned Ostrich? Anyway do us thirdgen guys all a favor and get an import......... Please
@William1987gta you fukin crazy dude the nos bottle is fake anyone in their right mind knows that its just for laughs like when i fooled a mechanic with it and you cant even afford my seats hell you cant even afford a paint job with that busted gta of yours i know more about these cars and any other car you name than you do and your the only one than doesnt appreciate my third gen i take that car to car shows every weekend and sit beside ppl with wayyyy better cars than that busted gta of yours
@William1987gta Ive seen your download of your car and ya its a nice third gen. Id smoke your ass but ya its cool. I dont see why you have a fake NOS bottle in it thats fuckin lame and hardly funny. You say you have Ostrich skin seats when you clearly dont and If you did install Ostrich skin skin seats in that thing since then you should post a video of it...........I wont hold my breath.
@William1987gta nobody cares if ur gta is faster im only 18 i gt plenty of time to make it faster 300+ is enough 4 now i focus on making an all around car unlike other i know + if fast is ur thing i gt a guy in my car club with 93 rx7 tt that can eat that gta up as for my seats u must be blind u know ostrich leather is the stuff with the nipples on it right or u just used 2 seeing that faded ass cloth of yours and my nos bottle is called decoration bringin some color inside u wouldnt understand
Fun video man. Further adds to the joy of driving the 2012 5.0 Stang with a stick shift. The bad-ass-ness is there, muscle icons with long proud bloodlines.
what i think is absolutly hallarious is that our American Muscle Cars are from the 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s and these 2010 2011 cant even compete with them!!!! Fuck ricers ha ha ricers are like the non alcoholic beer or mint chew and our American cars are the jack daniels that has been aged for years and still good
@gunman5566 Appreciate the feedback, man. And love the reference; personally, the 50s and early 60s are bit old for my tastes and I'm not really knowledgeable about most of them, but I still see beautiful 50s and 60s restomods that are breathtaking.
@weaverracing96 And last but not least, the ZR-1 is a 100,000$ car. Likely going to run you a bit more if you finance it, could be looking at 120,000-150,000$ car.
You can make ANYTHING IN THE WORLD faster than a zr-1 with 100,000$. Larry Larson built his world's fastest street car on 100,000$. Super car, is only a super factory car. Hand me 20,000$ and a shell, or hand me keys to a zr-1... If the shell is a car I happen to like (fiero example), I'm going to take the 20k$. Spend only 10k on it.
@MAVERICKHAWKM55 The Japanese may have invented the downhill 'drift', but alot of people seem to think that 'drifting' is the only form of sideways motorsport. And I've seen Civics will around 600-700 horsepower. But if you read what I said in the vid, I said that a sub-2-liter engine will make 300 on it's best day NATURALLY ASPIRATED. I've seen plenty of civics with turbos that push 500 or more. But with no forced induction, you wont get it above 300 without having way too much compression.
some stuff was right on...now its possible for a civic to have like little less than 500 horses...its been done...however finding the parts to do it very unlikely. Also you're wrong, as most of us know japanese did invent the drift (I'm not arguing about it but japanese did invent the downhill drift); us Americans invented the drag. Now there is a time a import car is done right, seriously people look at import tuner or something for look references.
Rediculous amount of Speakers and TV's you can't look at as you drive and other useless crap for the interior including speakers in the back so you can't put anything back there:$10,500
Fart Can:$250
Losing to an American Muscle Car while waiting for your "Vtec" to kick in: All your respect and dignity. -All credit to a member of a page on Facebook that I'm in.
weaver you must be 96 unfortunately for the new generation american cars have become crap and all we have is reliable imports. i agree on how ridiculous they make em look but i keep my 84 corolla stock if domestic cars start being half the cars they used to be i might consider one. on another note safety has come a long way and imports have a better resale value
@fuzzysae86 The 'new' generation of cars (from, let's say, 2000 and up), none of them are 'crap' from the factory. With modern technology that makes the cars from the factory, any new car will last over 200,000 miles if it's taken care of, maintained, and not driven hard all the time. You're on the wrong video, anyway. This video is about performance, not what makes feasible daily drivers.
True enough the twin turbo chevelle is great, my old man had one, but the turbo lag on some cars is the reason i would stay away i guess. Thing with superchargers is that they need to take in order to give. The studebaker Avanti was an awesome superchargered car. The L67 is a force to reckon with. sleeper cars, all of them
@LordQuantumJew Turbo lag isn't much of an issue with modern set ups. In the past, you had small turbos that would spool up quick, but wouldn't produce much boost in the end. On the other hand, you had bigger turbos that would produce higher levels of boost in the end, but they wouldn't spool quickly and throttle response suffered because of it. Some of the more innovating tuners of years past would use a sequential twin turbo setup where they'd feed a quick spooling small turbo into a high -
output larger turbo and gain good power through all of the RPM range. But you couldn't have a parallel twin-turbo setup on both headers. Technology has advanced though, as it always does, and now we have variable geometry turbos in which the vanes of the turbo charger's pitch adjust and give you good boost through low, mid, and high RPM ranges. And since you get the full band with one turbo, then you can have parallel twin turbos and really put out high horsepower. (NRE has a 2300ish HP TT 427)
@DaneLimmish Not stock, no. But it's much easier/cheaper to get them into that horsepower range than 2l engines with natural aspiration. N/A 8 vs N/A 4 with $1000.00 invested in each. The 8 will win every time. Turbo 8 vs Turbo 4 with equal investments again, same outcome. Look at what it takes realistically, no Need For Speed or Fast n Furious bullshit, to get a 4 cyl to 500 horsepower. Definately forced induction (most likely a turbo), probably a cam if the engine was originally a mild-streetC
C-set up. Then intake and exhaust just so the pressure the turbo is creating has a way to get into and out of the engine efficiently. And by this point you're either having to buy or re-flash ECU, PCM, and whatever other individual processors there are. And given the amount of sensors that the modern 4 cyls use for efficiency to get everything they can out of 2l, look at all of the wiring there is in a true 4cyl build (again, no buying shit on NFS with the X button). One crossed wire somewhere C
C and you can end up wasting hours trying to find and diagnose it since you most likely didn't catch the mistake till you had it all buttoned up and went to fire the engine. Or worse yet, you fry one of the processors. Plus the exhaust/intake duct work that turbo'ing an engine entails. And if you want one of those engines to live for over 10k miles with that much power, then you sure better have updated the rotating assembly. Now look at a 5.7l engine. If you get an older one with decent C
C compression, then you can probably get to 400 horsepower or so with a properly tuned carbuerator, intake, and exhaust set up. And if you wanted 500 horsepower, then a set of street h/o heads which had decent compression and came on thousands of 305 h/o engines in the 80's G and F bodies could put you around there. I had a stock 350 with late model GM bottom end and block, put a set of Chevrolet Vortec heads with 1.94/1.60 valves, Hooker headers, and Holley Intake/Carb. And was at 440'ish HP
Well aware of that, I just have a bad habit of correcting statements that seem a bit incorrect, I'm a dork that way. Although, modern V8s are getting close to having 400hp stock...hell, we have V6s that can make what V8s made ten years ago
@DaneLimmish Ford has a 305 horsepower V6 n/a, and 6 cylinders have been coming well over the 200hp mark for years now. I remember alot of people being impressed when Hyundai unveiled the Genesis coupe and it was like 300+/-. And being a Chevrolet Corvette fan, I'm confident in giving numbers on the LS series engines in them, the LS-3 6.2L N/A in the Z51 Vette (and Camaro SS) makes 435BHP, The LS-7 7.0L N/A in the Z06 makes 505BHP, and the LS-9 6.2L SC in the ZR1 makes 638BHP
God I miss the days of huge 6.0l plus engines and the shake of an american in idle. All the ricers today have to call in power with turbo chargers. The supercharger is a more american way as it gives more get up and go. My dream is to own a Plymouth GTX with a 440 Mag. Man 4.0 0-60. fuckin 1973 oil crisis
@LordQuantumJew Ricers can use turbo chargers and get 500 horsepower or so, and we can get 500 out of a smallblock V8 with no turbochargers OR superchargers, just natural-aspiration. Honestly I'd like a twin-turbo LS7. I know Superchargers are known to give more responsive power since they're positive displacement. But variable-geometry turbos give the same, plus they use the heat expansion in the exhaust without drawing power off of the crank.
No offense taken bro, I'm being careful with my build and not cutting corners, this thing has about 365k on it and still runs smooth and holds 20psi hot. So when I rebuild it as a stroker I will want it to last at least half as long. My main reason for going 331 over 347 is the supposed cooling issues the extra cubes cause. Either way I've got a cousin with a 347 in his 73 stang for a daily driver and hasnt let him down for the last 45k. Whichever brand one chooses, I'm just happy it's American!
Haha I feel the same way, 90% of Mustang owners are pompous idiots. They, along with the DUB Magazine Expedition and Excursion owners, make the rest of us look bad.. As far as the Comet goes, I am in the process of buying parts for a 331 stroker(frpp x heads, scat crank, forged flat tops etc.) With either a custom Isky( I live right by them in CA) or an off the shelf mutha thumpr. Currently its a bolt on car( Accel ignition, shift kit, edelbrock carb, intake, hooker headers, etc)
@71Merc Nice, I'll be totally honest. I don't like stroker engines for myself. I know they make great torque at low-mid RPM (3000-5000), but I just don't like the geometry. When you put a stroker crank in the engine, you have to make the connecting rods shorter to keep the piston at deckheight. And shorter connecting rods put more lateral pressure against the sidewalls of the cylinders, thereby increasing friction and decreasing overall efficiency and putting quite a bit more strain on your
bottom-end. Now don't take this personally, but that problem is kinda compounded with Ford configurations since Ford has generally had a shorter deck height (measured from snout of crank shaft to block-deck) than other manufacturers which gives Ford small blocks, especially the 5.0L, not-so-great angles to begin with. And when you stroke it, you really bind up your rotating assembly and block. You lose efficiency because with the connecting rod bound like that, it loses leverage on the crank.
@71Merc Awesome. To be honest, Fords aren't my favorite, but alot of that stems from seeing 15-20 late model Mustangs everyday I go out lol. And 90% of those Mustang owners think they really have something special and go out of their way to act like a douchebag about their 'stang even though it's no different than the dozens and dozens of other ones I'll see that week. Comets and Mavericks are pretty awesome, though. What kinda powertrain packages you got in them? And you got any dyno numbers?
@jms18jms18 Yeah, it's kinda funny because in a way everything is a 'for now' part. No matter what we put together and how much we love it. There's always that evil lil portion in the back of our mind going, "This is nice.. but what'd be REALLY awesome would be-", lol it's just a curse lain upon people like us.
@jms18jms18 Thanks, man. I enjoyed making it and I have no problem admitting my Firebird can't touch your Satellite lol. I doubt my Stingray could've either, I don't think it was putting out much over 300, if it was even getting /to 300. Both the Stingray I had and the Firebird I have now have 350s with nothing that special done to them, the Stingray had Edelbrock intake/carb, and the Firebird doesn't even have that lol. Still the stock quadrajunk on it for now.
finnaly someone who makes a ricer vs. muscle car vidio who knows what there talking about, but the only thing is that not all imports are bad once in a blue moon there is a nice one but that almost never happens
i dont mind imports i like a nice s200 a gtr a good supra well tuned 240sxs nsx and stuff but i would over look them for some musscle or a pasta rocket (nothing better)
oh and my 82 vette (350 +/- hp) record agenst ricers 9-0 i got my lisence couple months ago and my dads 75 trans am man that is slick to
hahaha, love the video man, amazing song to go along with it by the way, Motley Crue is hard-ass American to the core =P
Im a muscle guy through and through, its just in my heritage, my family (uncles included) has seen a 67' Camaro, 69' Cuda 340-S, 67' Impala SS, 71' Cougar XR7, 79' Trans Am, 81' Turbo Trans Am, 87' Buick GNX, 72' Olds 442, 88' Firebird, and my 91' Camaro.
Most muscle guys dont pick the lifestyle, we're born into it ;-) and an amazing lifestyle it is
@Ratmouth66 Hell of a collection. I've had an 87 Monte Carlo SS, 74 Corvette, and now an 81 Formula Firebird. My parents had some camaros and chevelles back before I was born, but I never got to ride in them. I wasn't really born into the muscle lifestyle, but rather the local dirt track lifestyle with sportsman cars made out of old camaros, and now full tube late models. I just love classic american cars, though. It always amuses me to see the punk ass white boys around here driving weak
ass hondas with JDM stickers all over them, japanese kanji tattoo'd on their arms, every damned thing they have HAS to be Japanese. They don't seem to realize they're in America lol. I mean, if you're not gonna support the home team; then leave the stadium, if you catch my meaning.
@weaverracing96 haha, well yeah actually most of that collection was before my time, the only ones ive seen in person are the 81' T/A, 88' Firebird, and 91' Camaro, my bro also had an 86' Camaro before that Firebird too i think, not sure of the year though. Hey i hear ya, we have that same stuff goin on around here with the dirt track racing, ive been thinkin about taking on old Monte or somethin out there and tryin my hand at it, great way to make your cut into a career
@Ratmouth66 Yeah, Monte's are pretty popular for street stock/pure stock classes. Though the best front clips you can get are from late 2nd gen z28 camaros, they share the same geometry in the a-arms, springs, shocks, camber, caster, etc with the corvettes of those years. And since most tracks require stock front end components apart from hubs, spindels, and tie-rods, that's the best stock package you can use. If the track'll let you, I'd say use an entire 2nd gen camaro for the street stock.
see heres the thing you put a line up of beautiful muscle followed by ricers made out of cardboard and what-not... put some supras and evos on the video too. show the best of both worlds. not the best and worst... "beaner ricers" is what those are... lame...
@kolorz309 Because not all Supras, Evos, Skylines, etc are 'Ricers'. That's why they're not in the video. It's a vid making fun of 'ricers', not a vid making fun of 'legitimately quick cars'. Honestly, there aren't many 'ricer' Supras out there because the vast majority of Supra owners tend to be car-savvy enough to know is efficient. The same can be said for Skyline owners, and /some/ Evo owners. Honestly, between the cars I mentioned; Evos are riced out more than Supras and Skylines.
@weaverracing96 small mistake: i meant that you should of added the badass imports in the "good" side. and later make a video of "the best of both worlds"
@weaverracing96 lol all im sayin is y hate on imports so much? i respect and love american muscle too but u dont see me bashin all the idiots that drive muscle who think jus cuz they got bigger engines that theyre faster. lol grow up
@spoonfedek9 I'm not neccessarily bashing on Imports, I'm bashing on ricers which are imports that are butchered; have a stupidly aggressive body kit, park bench wing, fart cannon, etc. There are some clean imports out there, and I have no issue with them. I just get tired of kids in stock honda civics that make 90 horsepower, yet they have them dolled up to look ridiculous and in their mind, 'fast'.
@weaverracing96 american cars can have that in common too. im talking about v6 mustangs, neons, aveoses, cobalts, impalas (in some cases). ive even seen some 300Cs with giant ass wings and roof scoops and kits with no preformance modifications n such.
and if you added the badass imports aka. the supra, r34 specV, rx7, silvia etc. you wouldnt have people bashin n the comment section. so therefore, this videos should of been "American/Jap Rice vs. American Muscle and High tech Japanese Machinery
@crazypHuzz I said just saying, it's the beat combo ever, take the 427 and the gt40 both brittish with American engines
3U4NC4MPB311 2 days ago
Ricer can't take it! Muscle to good for import! Face it people! Muscle wins and owns looks better 90 maybe 95% of the time. And they can turn if you build it to turn dumbasses.

DSMeclipsegst 2 months ago
@DSMeclipsegst First of all, a 6 sec 1/4 mi car with ANY engine isn't a road car which is what was depicted in this vid. Do you really think you could drive any car that fast from stoplight to stoplight without vaporizing the clutch, the tires, or your patience? And again, I'll tell you what I've told countless other people. I don't hate imports, I hate ricers, there's a difference.
weaverracing96 2 months ago
@DSMeclipsegst Have you ever heard of John Sheppard? He has a 7 Sec Eagle Talon that is actually street legal 4cyls btw there is also a Nova or somthing like that that runs 6s and is still street legal so you cant say there arnt any 6 sec cars that isnt street legal
DSMeclipsegst 2 months ago
@DSMeclipsegst I didn't say 'street legal'. I have no doubt they're street /legal/, but do you really think you can drive them around on the street? Do you even know what high horsepower numbers feel like? 400-500 is as much horsepower that's enjoyable to drive around with typically. 600, 700, etc is just too violent and it's not fun to drive around. The clutches you have to use will wear your leg out in a couple minutes, you can't even breathe on the throttle without wheelspin. It's a pain.

i don't hate muscle car, but this video is kinda bias....a gtr alpha 12 does the 1/4 mile in 8 seconds (with street slicks) and corners the Nuremberg faster than a Bugatti, now show me a funny car or top fuel dragster that can do that. Every type of car has its pros and cons, you are just too fucking bias
ps3thrumpsanDAMthing 3 months ago
@ps3thrumpsanDAMthing Of course the video's biased, it's in the title. And the thing I keep telling people is that this video isn't against imports, it's against ricers, there's a difference. A GTR isn't a ricer, of course if someone bought one put stupid wheels, body kit, exhaust on it, then it would be. And you should know that the Bugatti doesn't handle for shit, it's a 4,000lbs bus with 1000 horsepower. The first test driver Bugatti had got injured in it because of chassis instability.

nathanlam654321 5 months ago
@nathanlam654321 Yeah, there are some trashed domestic ricers. A Ricer isn't a Japanese car by default, a Ricer is any car that's been tastelessly modified as far as body kits, exhaust tips, stickers etc. I've seen riced Corvettes, Mustangs, Mercedes, Ferrari, etc. But 90% of Ricers due tend to be imports because it's what the high school kids buy and butcher.
weaverracing96 5 months ago
I don't hate imports, they make some cool stuff. But the fucking 2jz was not forged by fucking god. Back in the 70s we had 4 bolt mains, the 2jz is 2 bolt. No race engine is fucking two bolt! I hate fucking ricer people that talk shit out their ass and can defend a motor for what it is. An iron block with a turbo, how cheap.
ybafool2 6 months ago
@ybafool2 Well here's the catch-22 for that. A 2-bolt main is stronger than a straight 4-bolt main block as the straight 4-bolt design weakens the webbing for the crank. But racing blocks are usually what are called Splayed-4-bolt mains. Meaning that the two inner bolts are straight down into the register, and the outer 2 bolts thread in at an angle away from the center of the webbing to preserve it's integrity. I think the LS-7 is a 6 bolt, though lol.
weaverracing96 6 months ago
@weaverracing96 I understand that, all of the LSx motors are 6 bolt. But everyone says the 1jz was forged by god. If i had an MkI or MkII Supra, I would put' in the 1uz, 2uz, whatever. A Uz motor is a 6 bolt, DOHC, all aluminum v8. It is a way better design than the 2jz and not heavy. These people tank 30+ and crap to reach 800whp and more. When your aiming for that power why would you start with a 3.0 when you could have a 4.0 or 4.6 UZ motor?
ybafool2 6 months ago
@ybafool2 It won't need NOS to spool off the line and would need way less boost to make big power. I just think that people are clouded with ricer talk and only think the 2jz is the best, when there are many more options. And the price to find a 2jz is insane! Its an over priced motor and then all your going to have is what, 300whp and then you have to get a bigger turbo and internals later? Its not a great bang for the buck. I can see building it if it came in the car, but as a motor swap?
ybafool2 6 months ago
@ybafool2 . And from what I've seen on the web, I see that it is a straight 4 bolt, not the splayed one. But I have not seen the motor taken apart in person lol
ybafool2 6 months ago
@ybafool2 It's all subjective and there's no 'perfect world', so the engines alot of people end up with are just what was available to them at the time. Really, one of the points of me putting up this video is that the average builder isn't going to have 50,000 dollars to put into a car. And I think with 5,000 dollars, you can have a domestic car that is alot more fun than an import. Alot of that is because of price/availability, JDM perf. parts are pricey.
weaverracing96 5 months ago
For example, with a 5,000 dollar budget. I paid 4,000 for that stingray at the end of the video, I've since sold it since it was a bit too small for me, I'm 6'7. And I bought an '81 Firebird (last year of Smokey n Bandit style) for 3,000, so with a 5,000 dollar budget, I'd still ahve 2,000 to put into the 350(5.7l) in the firebird and have a pretty unique, fun car to drive. Much moreso than if I went an import route and gotten a Silvia or 300zx (Nissan is my make of choice in imports).
weaverracing96 5 months ago

myNifty350 6 months ago
To weaver...I hear ya there were some nice domestics built through the 80s and it's good they can combine emissions with horse power now, I still like the oldies. How about this comparison...“A Ricer has his buddy film their speed while he tries to eccelerate...A muscle car owners buddy can't film speed, he's to busy holding on to something other than a camera when driver bangs gears” Hope ya like it.
myNifty350 6 months ago
@myNifty350 How about, "A ricer has his douchebag friend film his speed with a cell phone while he accelerates to 70mph through a school zone. A muscle car owner needs a mounting bracket and a pro-grade camera,"?

myNifty350 6 months ago
@myNifty350 I think I was born a few generations too late sometimes lol. But if I was born back then, I wouldn't have been able to grow up with the 4th Gen F-body Trans-Ams and Camaros, and see the C6 Corvettes that debuted in 2005. Anytime from the mid 60s till 2011, I can find at least a few American cars that I love. Hell, the 80's were considered the worst generation for American cars, but we had the Monte SS, the GNX, the Iroc-Z, and Foxbody 5.0s

I also want the new Silverado 1500!!!!!! I'll lift it up, give it 66 inch tires, powered by a Detroit Diesel 8v71!!!!!!!
MrChevrolet94 7 months ago
@MrChevrolet94 None of that's really feasible, to be honest lol. The engine utilized by NASCAR Chevrolet teams is the R07 package, it's a carbuerated pushrod engine with very high compression and is honestly not good for the street since it's cam causes it to not make good power till 5000-6000RPM. And you can't twin turbo or anything of that sort to an engine like that. The Camaro SS comes with the LS3, 6.2l that makes 435hp, it's a good enough engine from the factory.
weaverracing96 7 months ago
But if you really wanted, you could swap in an LS7, 7.0L engine from the Z06 C6 Corvette, 505hp and very good all around package. Then there's always the LS9, 6.2L Supercharged engine from the Corvette ZR1. I like your enthusiasm and all, but you have alot to learn about engines yet. You're young, though, and you have plenty of time. There are alot of sites that can teach you a good bit regarding the basics in performance, all the way up to the professional level of understanding.

I love this video im glad there are people that share the disgust in ricers like i do. weaverracing96 8 months ago
@weaverracing96 I would take the supra. Its more rare
Jah2070 7 months ago
@weaverracing96 Yes. Multiple reasons to this.
My fiero can't beat them, but they can't pull like that 240 did.
psychoninja911 7 months ago
@psychoninja911 ZR-1 isn't a drag car. Take the 240 and take the ZR-1 to the Nurburgring or Circuirt de la Sarthe. You can't put enough money into a 240 or Supra, or anything like that to make it as good of an all around performer as the ZR-1. Braking, Acceleration, Handling, the C6 chassis is just without equal for the price.

weaverracing96 8 months ago

MAVERICKHAWKM55 9 months ago
@MAVERICKHAWKM55 The Japanese may have invented the downhill 'drift', but alot of people seem to think that 'drifting' is the only form of sideways motorsport. And I've seen Civics will around 600-700 horsepower. But if you read what I said in the vid, I said that a sub-2-liter engine will make 300 on it's best day NATURALLY ASPIRATED. I've seen plenty of civics with turbos that push 500 or more. But with no forced induction, you wont get it above 300 without having way too much compression.
weaverracing96 9 months ago
like 470 horses (i meant for the civic)
MAVERICKHAWKM55 9 months ago
some stuff was right on...now its possible for a civic to have like little less than 500 horses...its been done...however finding the parts to do it very unlikely. Also you're wrong, as most of us know japanese did invent the drift (I'm not arguing about it but japanese did invent the downhill drift); us Americans invented the drag. Now there is a time a import car is done right, seriously people look at import tuner or something for look references.

weaver you must be 96 unfortunately for the new generation american cars have become crap and all we have is reliable imports. i agree on how ridiculous they make em look but i keep my 84 corolla stock if domestic cars start being half the cars they used to be i might consider one. on another note safety has come a long way and imports have a better resale value
fuzzysae86 10 months ago
@fuzzysae86 The 'new' generation of cars (from, let's say, 2000 and up), none of them are 'crap' from the factory. With modern technology that makes the cars from the factory, any new car will last over 200,000 miles if it's taken care of, maintained, and not driven hard all the time. You're on the wrong video, anyway. This video is about performance, not what makes feasible daily drivers.

I just love that whine in a gtp. perfect v6 engine even w/o the super on it.
LordQuantumJew 10 months ago
True enough the twin turbo chevelle is great, my old man had one, but the turbo lag on some cars is the reason i would stay away i guess. Thing with superchargers is that they need to take in order to give. The studebaker Avanti was an awesome superchargered car. The L67 is a force to reckon with. sleeper cars, all of them
LordQuantumJew 10 months ago
@LordQuantumJew Turbo lag isn't much of an issue with modern set ups. In the past, you had small turbos that would spool up quick, but wouldn't produce much boost in the end. On the other hand, you had bigger turbos that would produce higher levels of boost in the end, but they wouldn't spool quickly and throttle response suffered because of it. Some of the more innovating tuners of years past would use a sequential twin turbo setup where they'd feed a quick spooling small turbo into a high -
weaverracing96 10 months ago
output larger turbo and gain good power through all of the RPM range. (NRE has a 2300ish HP TT 427)
weaverracing96 10 months ago
just saying dude, most 5.7L don't make 4-500 hp. The old SBC don't anyway, I don't know about the LS engines...or ford....or hemi.
DaneLimmish 10 months ago
@DaneLimmish Not stock, no. But it's much easier/cheaper to get them into that horsepower range than 2l engines with natural aspiration. N/A 8 vs N/A 4 with $1000.00 invested in each. The 8 will win every time. Turbo 8 vs Turbo 4 with equal investments again, same outcome. Look at what it takes realistically, no Need For Speed or Fast n Furious bullshit, to get a 4 cyl to 500 horsepower. Definately forced induction (most likely a turbo), probably a cam if the engine was originally a mild-streetC
weaverracing96 10 months ago
One crossed wire somewhere C
weaverracing96 10 months ago
C and you can end up wasting hours trying to find and diagnose it since you most likely didn't catch the mistake till you had it all buttoned up and went to fire the engine. Or worse yet, you fry one of the processors. Plus the exhaust/intake duct work that turbo'ing an engine entails. And if you want one of those engines to live for over 10k miles with that much power, then you sure better have updated the rotating assembly. Now look at a 5.7l engine. If you get an older one with decent C
weaverracing96 10 months ago
C compression, then you can probably get to 400 horsepower or so with a properly tuned carbuerator, intake, and exhaust set up. And if you wanted 500 horsepower, then a set of street h/o heads which had decent compression and came on thousands of 305 h/o engines in the 80's G and F bodies could put you around there. I had a stock 350 with late model GM bottom end and block, put a set of Chevrolet Vortec heads with 1.94/1.60 valves, Hooker headers, and Holley Intake/Carb. And was at 440'ish HP
weaverracing96 10 months ago
@weaverracing96
Well aware of that, I just have a bad habit of correcting statements that seem a bit incorrect, I'm a dork that way. Although, modern V8s are getting close to having 400hp stock...hell, we have V6s that can make what V8s made ten years ago
DaneLimmish 10 months ago
@DaneLimmish Ford has a 305 horsepower V6 n/a, and 6 cylinders have been coming well over the 200hp mark for years now. I remember alot of people being impressed when Hyundai unveiled the Genesis coupe and it was like 300+/-. And being a Chevrolet Corvette fan, I'm confident in giving numbers on the LS series engines in them, the LS-3 6.2L N/A in the Z51 Vette (and Camaro SS) makes 435BHP, The LS-7 7.0L N/A in the Z06 makes 505BHP, and the LS-9 6.2L SC in the ZR1 makes 638BHP
weaverracing96 10 months ago
God I miss the days of huge 6.0l plus engines and the shake of an american in idle. All the ricers today have to call in power with turbo chargers. The supercharger is a more american way as it gives more get up and go. My dream is to own a Plymouth GTX with a 440 Mag. Man 4.0 0-60. fuckin 1973 oil crisis
LordQuantumJew 10 months ago
@LordQuantumJew Ricers can use turbo chargers and get 500 horsepower or so, and we can get 500 out of a smallblock V8 with no turbochargers OR superchargers, just natural-aspiration. Honestly I'd like a twin-turbo LS7. I know Superchargers are known to give more responsive power since they're positive displacement. But variable-geometry turbos give the same, plus they use the heat expansion in the exhaust without drawing power off of the crank.
weaverracing96 10 months ago
No offense taken bro, I'm being careful with my build and not cutting corners, this thing has about 365k on it and still runs smooth and holds 20psi hot. So when I rebuild it as a stroker I will want it to last at least half as long. My main reason for going 331 over 347 is the supposed cooling issues the extra cubes cause. Either way I've got a cousin with a 347 in his 73 stang for a daily driver and hasnt let him down for the last 45k. Whichever brand one chooses, I'm just happy it's American!
71Merc 11 months ago
@weaverracing96
71Merc 11 months ago
@71Merc Nice, I'll be totally honest. I don't like stroker engines for myself. I know they make great torque at low-mid RPM (3000-5000), but I just don't like the geometry. When you put a stroker crank in the engine, you have to make the connecting rods shorter to keep the piston at deckheight. And shorter connecting rods put more lateral pressure against the sidewalls of the cylinders, thereby increasing friction and decreasing overall efficiency and putting quite a bit more strain on your
weaverracing96 11 months ago
You lose efficiency because with the connecting rod bound like that, it loses leverage on the crank.
weaverracing96 11 months ago
Thanks for the video! Was worried for a bit that I wouldn't see any Fords in there, glad to see you tossed in a couple engines and cars at the end!
'71 Comet and a '70 Maverick here.
71Merc 11 months ago
@71Merc Awesome. To be honest, Fords aren't my favorite, but alot of that stems from seeing 15-20 late model Mustangs everyday I go out lol. And 90% of those Mustang owners think they really have something special and go out of their way to act like a douchebag about their 'stang even though it's no different than the dozens and dozens of other ones I'll see that week. Comets and Mavericks are pretty awesome, though. What kinda powertrain packages you got in them? And you got any dyno numbers?
weaverracing96 11 months ago
"still the stock quadrajunk on it for now"
don't worry, You'll get it to where you want it eventually...not a cheap hobby...lol
mine still has some "for now" parts on it too...lol
jms18jms18 11 months ago
@jms18jms18 Yeah, it's kinda funny because in a way everything is a 'for now' part. No matter what we put together and how much we love it. There's always that evil lil portion in the back of our mind going, "This is nice.. but what'd be REALLY awesome would be-", lol it's just a curse lain upon people like us.

In case your wondering, I drive a 71 Plymouth Satellite 383....450 horse baby!!
jms18jms18 11 months ago
@jms18jms18 Thanks, man. I enjoyed making it and I have no problem admitting my Firebird can't touch your Satellite lol. I doubt my Stingray could've either, I don't think it was putting out much over 300, if it was even getting /to 300. Both the Stingray I had and the Firebird I have now have 350s with nothing that special done to them, the Stingray had Edelbrock intake/carb, and the Firebird doesn't even have that lol. Still the stock quadrajunk on it for now.

Most muscle guys dont pick the lifestyle, we're born into it ;-) and an amazing lifestyle it is
Ratmouth66 1 year ago
@Ratmouth66 Hell of a collection. I've had an 87 Monte Carlo SS, 74 Corvette, and now an 81 Formula Firebird. My parents had some camaros and chevelles back before I was born, but I never got to ride in them. I wasn't really born into the muscle lifestyle, but rather the local dirt track lifestyle with sportsman cars made out of old camaros, and now full tube late models. I just love classic american cars, though. It always amuses me to see the punk ass white boys around here driving weak
weaverracing96 1 year ago
ass hondas with JDM stickers all over them, japanese kanji tattoo'd on their arms, every damned thing they have HAS to be Japanese. They don't seem to realize they're in America lol. I mean, if you're not gonna support the home team; then leave the stadium, if you catch my meaning.
weaverracing96 1 year ago
@weaverracing96 haha, well yeah actually most of that collection was before my time, the only ones ive seen in person are the 81' T/A, 88' Firebird, and 91' Camaro, my bro also had an 86' Camaro before that Firebird too i think, not sure of the year though. Hey i hear ya, we have that same stuff goin on around here with the dirt track racing, ive been thinkin about taking on old Monte or somethin out there and tryin my hand at it, great way to make your cut into a career
Ratmouth66 1 year ago
@Ratmouth66 Yeah, Monte's are pretty popular for street stock/pure stock classes. Though the best front clips you can get are from late 2nd gen z28 camaros, they share the same geometry in the a-arms, springs, shocks, camber, caster, etc with the corvettes of those years. And since most tracks require stock front end components apart from hubs, spindels, and tie-rods, that's the best stock package you can use. If the track'll let you, I'd say use an entire 2nd gen camaro for the street stock.
weaverracing96 1 year ago
see heres the thing you put a line up of beautiful muscle followed by ricers made out of cardboard and what-not... put some supras and evos on the video too. show the best of both worlds. not the best and worst... "beaner ricers" is what those are... lame...
kolorz309 1 year ago
@kolorz309 Because not all Supras, Evos, Skylines, etc are 'Ricers'. That's why they're not in the video. It's a vid making fun of 'ricers', not a vid making fun of 'legitimately quick cars'. Honestly, there aren't many 'ricer' Supras out there because the vast majority of Supra owners tend to be car-savvy enough to know is efficient. The same can be said for Skyline owners, and /some/ Evo owners. Honestly, between the cars I mentioned; Evos are riced out more than Supras and Skylines.

@weaverracing96 lol all im sayin is y hate on imports so much? i respect and love american muscle too but u dont see me bashin all the idiots that drive muscle who think jus cuz they got bigger engines that theyre faster. lol grow up
spoonfedek9 1 year ago
@spoonfedek9 I'm not neccessarily bashing on Imports, I'm bashing on ricers which are imports that are butchered; have a stupidly aggressive body kit, park bench wing, fart cannon, etc. There are some clean imports out there, and I have no issue with them. I just get tired of kids in stock honda civics that make 90 horsepower, yet they have them dolled up to look ridiculous and in their mind, 'fast'.
weaverracing96 1 year ago
@weaverracing96 american cars can have that in common too. im talking about v6 mustangs, neons, aveoses, cobalts, impalas (in some cases). ive even seen some 300Cs with giant ass wings and roof scoops and kits with no preformance modifications n such.
and if you added the badass imports aka. the supra, r34 specV, rx7, silvia etc. you wouldnt have people bashin n the comment section. so therefore, this videos should of been "American/Jap Rice vs. American Muscle and High tech Japanese Machinery
