Well your's is the server edition so of course you would have full use of all 4gb, but mine is the vista ultimate version. And in reality he was speaking about the vista thing about the ram. What he stated (about VRAM taking away from your regular ram is true I ended up testing it myself, kinda fucked up if yah ask me) was true in any such case. The OS we use are two different codes.

Even if you managed to open it up and replace, say, the video card or something-- Mac OS is designed to work only on the limited hardware they give you and nothing else. Ok, this is a long explanation but everything past Vista SP1 has reporting of ram installed, it is not what is available. OS X (32 only) has the same issue, check out wired ram all systems map memory for devices, kernel and so on.

OS X has a hybrid situation but still has mapped memory, but from the same link "Unlike earlier versions of Mac OS, Mac OS X includes a fully-integrated virtual memory system that you cannot turn off. It is always on, providing up to 4 gigabytes of addressable space per 32-bit process and approximately 18 exabytes of addressable space for 64-bit processes." Its all swapped if read further as I stated in my vid.
