Both Ray Price and Buck Owens are at the top of my favorite list. Buck Owens wrote this song and it was Bucks first song in the top 10 on Billboard in 1959. Ray's version was also great since both the Buckaroo's and the Cherokee Cowboys knew how to play the shuffles. If I had to pick one as better I would have to go with Don Rich and the Buckaroos. MAN I LOVE This Ive Followed Ray Price all My Life ~This is the FIRST time IVe ACTULLY Really heard the Double Bass With the Bass and the Bass Guitar tht he was SOO famous for~NO BADN could play a Country Shuffle Like Rays BandS Ty SO Much Gator ~Sure wish there was a way we could talk to each other~Steve Paolo
@Gatorrock787 What I meant Gator was that I figure Ray had the best cut on this song but not this cut. Buck had a pretty good version as well. I think the musicians used made the difference.
True story: Buck Owens wrote this after hearing Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell On You" on the radio.

Gotta love Ray but I'd be happy for him to get rid of those damn strings... what's wrong with a fiddle or two?

@Gatorrock787 my favorite was Buck on Hee Haw in 1972, it sounds a lot more natural and smoother
