Assassin's Creed II came out, and it started to grow more and more. So all those new fans new Ezio, not Altair. Then Brotherhood came out, and at this point it was a becoming huge. Ezio. Then with AC: Revelations came out, and I'd say it's mainstream now. People came to know Ezio first because of this.

Cole is in Street Fighter x Tekken, most of the fans aren't happy about that. Most fans of Soul Calibur were not too happy with Darth Vader, Yoda, and Starkiller, as they didn't fit in very well with the old age look. Link, Lloyd, and Hentachi were perfect, Kratos fit in very well, Spawn in his own way avoided clashing with everything and fit in nicely, but Cole would just make people go "Starkiller with a backpack" and well.. yeah.

Ahh, not another one. Ezio is probably Namco's new excuse of getting recognition. Especially for Assassins creed fans. But hell, they have been successfull at it since soul calibur 2, well except for SC3 (customization first was introduced) and 4(a rather terrible Idea to use Starwars figures, Yoda for the most part). Hope Ezio dosn't fail, because If I buy this I am gonna kick the crap out of noobs that bought this because of Ezio, for the fun of it. XD
