Woot, new Al vids! Is that Al playing JM?? OMG What a hottie! LOL! This song is hilarious, nevermind the youngsters who don't get it :P Long live big Al! :)
I remember it , as if it were yesterday.... " Come on baby light my fire, come on baby light my fire, let's try to set the night on fire" blaring from That Grad student's speakers for the love of Bollywood, will it ever stop? I hope not , because it's embedded in my Mind 25 hours a day - 8 days a week.... for the love of exaggeration !!!! My word.
When i was a little kid,(like anyone cares) Our wild crazy neighbor from India used to blast Doors music 25 hours a day.I can still hear it for the love of GOD. I can't get it out of my mind. Of all the things i've lost, I miss my mind the most !!! Excellent work Ray and Weird Al.!!!!
He and Ray Manzarek, the Doors keyboardist are parodying the overall style of the doors sound. Some examples would be Soul kitchen, my eyes have seen you, When the music's over, riders on the storm, light my fire etc. It is amazing !!! I love it !!!

it's not funny because it's absurd, but rather because you can go on craigslist right now and see some posts that are exactly like these lyrics. btw, whats the name of the song he's parodying?
it's not a parody of one in particular like he normally does, but I was racking my brain about it too, so I looked it up and Wiki says it includes nuances of "When the Music's Over", "The End" and the obvious "Light My Fire"...he is such a genius...I used to make parodies of songs-still like to when I am making fun of a song- I seriously considered contacting Al about them, but never did...wow-I could have hit the bigtime collaborating with him...oh well....:)
haha! that's cute....I always though the TCF was a neat play on words...anyhoo, that is my nickname an ex gave me and I now use it for email and stuff-I have always been a cat purrson (people are always telling me I look like I have cat eyes, 'cause they are green and unusual looking) and my middle name is 'Renea' ...when I was younger I used to go by 'Catnip' , and had it on my car tag for years-boy, did I get some crazy comments about that one! God Bless! :)
MAN! That was awesome. Bravo. Also, I'm trying to sell a used Pong system, still good no history in a still-legible box with 2 joysticks and 1 dial if anyone is interested. Also 5 games but I can't read the labels because they belonged to my dad in the 70's so they're kind of beat up but they are still good, I know that because my stepbrother in whose in Iraq told me that they were fun so I'll take his word for it.
you got that right-really love the 'yeah baby' stuff -he is so talented and hilarious-I think he deserves more credit than he gets-I get disgusted with all these egotistical, sleezy, vulgar singers out there making big bucks singing garbage-Wierd Al has always been an original and he can really change like a chamelion when he is doing different genres. I think anyone that doesn't appreciate this man probably has the personality of a dry sponge and they take themselves too seriously.... :)

I didnt get the coffee shop sequence until I watched some old footage of Jim Morrison in concert. In the middle of songs he would just rant about something random that he observed/experienced. That's what Al is doing too.
A famous recording star once said that it didn't matter how many of his singles or albums went gold or platinum, how many concert tours he made, nor even how many Grammys he won.
He said that no musician can ever be truly sure that he's really "made it" in the music field, until he's been parodied by Weird Al Yankovic.

Yeah, okay. This was only put up a few months ago too. So, no, they are not better, nor will they ever out-sell Al. Lastly, although I like Lonely Island, there songs are generally about the same shit. It gets old. At least Al has stuff that isn't the same overdone, retard-level, crap. yes they are his own but are PARODIES of other songs one way or another. I can sit here for 15 minutes write a parody song. not too difficult. The guy's 50 years old, he needs to grow up a bit.
No, as a matter of a fact close to half the songs on every one of his albums are complete originals, and NOT parodies. you really should know something about what you're talking about before you go spouting off. And for that matter what albums, parody or otherwise have YOU written? If you've never played the game, don't go talking about how it should be done.

wow. ok. even if that might be true his "music" is shit. i actually play in a band and i'm the lead singer/ songwriter. I take a lot of pride in writing ure own music, and i hate people that get famous off of making a parody rather than doing there own thing.
WTS: why shouldn't he continue to make parodies? Unlike you, he's made millions of dollars and made millions of people happy. Having tried my hand at parody more than a few times myself, I will say it's a very special skill and talent to not just fit random words to someone else's melody, but to actually retain the overall feel of the song being parodied in a humorous manner.
True parody is hard, and Weird Al is one of the few masters.

you probably suck anyway - with such an original name like "Wu-Tang Shogun" - just because you "actually play in a band and you are a singer-songwriter" doesn't mean you are any good at it.
You are also calling Ray Manzerik "Shit" because he was in the Doors as their keyboard player and he is playing on this track...that says it all to me...What is the name of your hit song again?
Al writes many original songs and he's famous, while you are just another wanna-be nobody.

go look at the new craigslist for jobs only. Looks way better and it's free just went online today it's at listojobs dot com . Dumb you cant post urls here.
YEAH DUDE TOTALLY, Music is all about how many people know the name of the band! It has nothing to do with the talent of the musicians or the quality of their music! YEAH!
Dude u r a major tosser. of course it has something to do with their music, first off they have to have good music to be recognised and get higher in the industry and more popular, if there was a bnad with an awsome name and a shit hole song thats crap all noone would give a shit. its not wat its all about
The Doors are the best band Ever, in my Opinion. Even though this is a Parody, I look at it more of a tribute. I mean, the clothes... And Manzarek helped out with the song.
The odds are that you have heard them. If you have watched Apocalypse Now, you have heard. Also at least one of their songs appears in the film Forest Gump.
You have prolly don't listen to classic rock if you can't recognize them.
Doesn't matter if i've heard their music the important thing is to know their name.
A band you don't know the name of can't be classed as being the best. It's basic logic.
If anything a good band is one that's well known and that if you said to the random on the street their name.. then they'd know it and naturally if they were known for good reasons then that's a + if it's bad then obviously it's baad.
So according to your 'basic logic' if YOU haven't heared of a band then they can't possibly be good? Is it possible that maybe a band was one of the best bands years and years ago and YOU just haven't heard of them? Or, are you declaring yourself the end all be all of musical knowledge and what bands are good versus which ones aren't? The Doors were very very popular in their day and age and just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean anything does it?

YEAH DUDE TOTALLY, Music is all about how many people know the name of the band! It has nothing to do with the talent of the musicians or the quality of their music! YEAH!
devgrust6 2 years ago 2
Dude u r a major tosser. of course it has something to do with their music, first off they have to have good music to be recognised and get higher in the industry and more popular, if there was a bnad with an awsome name and a shit hole song thats crap all noone would give a shit. its not wat its all about

A combination of Soul Kitchen, Lighy my Fire and When The Music's Over by The Doors

The Doors are the best band Ever, in my Opinion. Even though this is a Parody, I look at it more of a tribute. I mean, the clothes... And Manzarek helped out with the song.
ronkrisin 2 years ago
That it is. I completely agree with you.
loqutor 2 years ago
If they are the best then why haven't i heard of them? ;)
Joppsta360 2 years ago
Because you probably don't listen to old Music
ronkrisin 2 years ago 3
The odds are that you have heard them. If you have watched Apocalypse Now, you have heard. Also at least one of their songs appears in the film Forest Gump.
You have prolly don't listen to classic rock if you can't recognize them.
Karegador 2 years ago
Doesn't matter if i've heard their music the important thing is to know their name.
A band you don't know the name of can't be classed as being the best. It's basic logic.
If anything a good band is one that's well known and that if you said to the random on the street their name.. then they'd know it and naturally if they were known for good reasons then that's a + if it's bad then obviously it's baad.
Joppsta360 2 years ago
So according to your 'basic logic' if YOU haven't heared of a band then they can't possibly be good? Is it possible that maybe a band was one of the best bands years and years ago and YOU just haven't heard of them? Or, are you declaring yourself the end all be all of musical knowledge and what bands are good versus which ones aren't? The Doors were very very popular in their day and age and just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean anything does it?
