  • If people think afghans are barbarians for playing this game, where does that leave the spanish? Have you seen what they do to bulls? They kill them slowly for amusement. Have you seen Chinese people kill animals for fur, or what about american celebrities organizing dog fights? You people need to study your own cultures before you criticise others!

  • Buzkashi for olympic games!

  • very well done . good introductory, good music. keep upthegood job .

  • I don't know why so many people are calling afghans savages for playing this game, animals suffer mistreatment EVERYWHERE. Besides the calf is killed beforehand! What about the chinese skinning dogs alive? What about American celebrities organising dog fights, what about French people eating horses? Savagery is a human characteristic!! F**king keyboard warriors!

  • Americans used to throw around pig skins. how is this any different? They gut the animal, usually a calf because it doesn't fall apart as easily as a goat. They decapitate it and sever the limbs at the knees. They also soak the carcass in water for 24 hrs and stuff it with sand to give it more weight. I find no brutatlity in this, the animal is prepared honorably. And they do not eat the carcass after the game. That wouldn't be a very tasty meal.

  • listen people, mr. zamboor is absolutely right

those people saying, awe look at that poor goat! would u get your heads outta your asses? cmon people, look at the western and european countries with everything leather and fur; nxt someone says look at what they do to that poor goat, just imagine how many animals are killed just to make one fur coat, or pants made of lizard skin.

  • i love the music

  • Love Afghan culture, Buzkashi the Afghan National sport should become international and played in Olympics, may be with a fake calf or goat though, lol

  • oh dear! Please people, respect other cultures! America: Your intolerence of others is one of the main reasons so many people hate you guys. Try to be understanding, compassionate and caring. It costs so little and will benefit you greatly. Others: Try not to hate them. They just need to learn, and they are not all as dumb as some of those posting comments...

  • i want this sport in my country. is it possible imported the Buzkashi in iitaly?

  • kashi ?

    keci ?

    Buz ne ?

Buz Türkcede Suyun Donmus haline denir ....

    Bizde bu oyunun adi Jirit

  • Afghan Warriors. So Awesome.

  • Quite a few countries play this sport. Mongolia does not practice it (this is not to suggest that it did not originate there). Hopefully Afghans can overcome their troubles so that they can enjoy more playing it. Surely playing states will have to come up with a single set of rules and play a championship. This would be great would it not?!

  • Why argue about origin? It is all guessing anyways. It is like arguing about who domestificated horse or who invented a wheel.

  • My friend fro Afghanistan told me about this sport today. It looks very scary but interesting at the same time, I would never play it myself though.

  • Very intereting game and sport! I am endlessly facinated by the central Asian cultures.

And to those who say it is cruel and salvage, try watching flat racing in your own countries, it's thousands times worse for the animals involved.

    Regards -a vegetarian horseowner.

  • I cannot believe that some of people here call this very old, almost ancient game 'a piece of shit culture'!! Such statements are only made by those lacking education. Stop being disrespectful and ignorant to other traditions, this will certainly not get you far in life.

In Shakespeare's words: There is no darkness, but ignorance! how true!

  • ben kırgız Tüküyüm ve videoları cok beqendim qercekten emeqine saqlık cok qusel olmus bizde 1982 yılında Afganhistan dan qöc ederek Türkiye ye yerlersen kırgızların selametle...

  • Wow, so much hatred in the comments guys..

Just because you don't agree with something doesn't make it wrong.

  • great informative video... can you please tell the name of the song being played in the background???

  • Come on, people. The goat is killed before the game starts. It's no different from killing a goat for food, except that they play this game before they eat it. THEY DO EAT IT AFTERWARD. So it's really no different at all from any of you going down to McDonald's and buying a hamburger. And "lack of culture"? The video clearly states this tradition dates from the 13th century and Genghis Khan. Maybe Nyikama,

carlospelaez1, etc. are the ones who need to get an education.

  • please respect to other cultures, the goat is already dead before starting the game, and they eat it together winner and loser.

  • that's sickening and repulsive. i have respect for the afghan culture, but i can't imagine enjoying a sport that involves the meaningless slaughter of an animal and the tossing of the decapitated corpse from hand to hand. it's primitive and savage.

  • So you prefer your animal wrapped into a neat shape, stuffed, stitched & ready to go? I believe you call it football & basketball?

Coming from the land of the world biggest consumers and wasters that sure is a bold statement. Leather jackets, leather couches, leather car seats, leather masks for your gimps..the list goes on.

We might kill goats but your country kills babies.

  • SALVAGES....... BTW I'm not Mexican or you are one of those ignorants monkeys that think that all Spanish name is Mexican, what a piece of shit culture you bunch of wild apes. fucking taliban

  • Do they kill the goat before star playing with it?

I think these people are animals and cruel, they should be brag by the streets ... they need some education, it is nasty, what a lack of culture... they are just salvages, and disgusting for the human race

  • Salvages? It sounds like you are the one who needs education. Learn to spell, asshole. It's just part of their culture.

  • regardless of that misspelling, that Is a piece of shit culture with no values and nothing to learn from, they are less than animals just like you alvelleroy people like you all should be dead and treated like they are treating that poor goat.

  • Piece of shit culture...what ever beaner. Go enter your mother in one of your disgusting donkey shows. Hows that for savage you dirty mexican.

Just google it...I don't even think you can google the words donkey & mexican together without seeing a picture of a mexican whore getting nailed by a donkey.

  • Thank you for sharing.

It's a beautiful music, by the way!

  • this is a boring video.

  • i love the song playing in the background whats the name of it? does anyone know?

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful and authentic afghani music. my compliments.

  • I wish you would have written the words in the video in the discription

  • Turk pride world

bız çok mutluyuz çünkü tanrı bizimledir!

  • that is afghan NATIOANAL SPORT ,the only country,so take ur pride some where else.

  • infiltratorr how did leanr adgans to ride horses ? hahah turks teached them moron ! horosan turks ! idiot :D:D:D afgans our friends but morons like you never cant got it hehehe ...

  • Thank you for the clarifications. WE Afghans also see you as our freinds...but 'infiltrator' is unfortunantely an EXCEPTION.. LOL

    Ma'Sallam

    NN

  • What happens to the carcass after the game? Is it eaten or kept as a trophy?

  • Just a representation of our tradition and Afghaniyat, I don't think the music has anything to do with the actual game. It is a slide show so that puts it out of game context already.

  • dont judge without knowing anything mr.I KNOW TOO MUCH

the song is the afghani attan loser!

  • Hahahahha you know too much... That already proves you know nothing because people who know never say they know.... Get a life moron...

  • lmao u need a life seriously shit head

  • Dude, what are you getting so worked up about? Nobody's fucking yelling at you.

  • dude why dont you like mind your own business?

  • Because trollin YT is more fun.

  • it doesnt matter who played it first, it matters who is best at it and afghanistan is no 1!

  • Beautifoul horses, good people, great game!

    Greetings from hungaryan horser.

  • afghaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanistan

    long live afghanistan

  • Nice video and thanks for uploading. But may I suggest to replace the background music as its style is from a different region i.e. south Afghanistan and does not go up well with a game from the North and I am sure a background music from the same north region will make the video more harmonious and naturally sweet.

  • hey thanks for sharing your idea :)

  • I wanna play :(

  • buzkashi is a turkic game... ist a national game of turks...

  • It's a game that was once common to all Mongol nations. Has a horse rider, I can tell you it takes a lot of riding skills and upper body strength.

  • dont u knowthat mongols r turk to... turks nd mongols has some kultur some war tkniks and some trust be for islam... if hve knoelwdge about mongols then u shold know about turks to...

know its afghanistans national game no mater but first this game played by turks...

  • Yes, I do know Turks can be Mongols too. I'm a Khan after all. ;) But I don't know if it was first played by the Turks because it's been played in Afghanistan since Genghis's time and they still play a form of it in Mongolia.

  • its no matter who has played first mongols and turks are some nation... but it can be afghanistans national game it doesnt matter too. know in afg turks and other nation play this game whit each other and i think its good... but we have to say first it was an turkic mongol game befor islam and after islam... now all nation play this game.

  • Get out of here, Jangis Khan introduced the sport to half of the world but it was obviously played in Afghanistan first, there were no planes back then.

  • I just got introduced to this interesting game while reading on the book 'Bookseller of Kabul' and now after watching it I feel it is one of Afghanistan's cultural heritage that must be completely preserved. Greetings from Singapore.

  • not only do they use dead calf's, sometimes they use the bodies of dead russian soldiers!! during the 80's!!

  • stupidest thing ive ever seen. thats why they are the way they are. idiots...

  • usaf...so predictible response from a dumb fuck living in his bubble... usaf? it means u like war and shit? yet ur a fag

  • Army now. haha. Thats why we gotta go give them soccer balls. They'd end up cutting kids head's off...

  • I would love to play a game of Buzkashi with your moms carcass. You know we used to used decapitated prisoners, does that scare you little girl?

  • tight sound like it

    afg foe lyfe

  • This sport is the spirit of Afghanistan and its people. For it symbolizes Afghan bravery. Courage and Warrior past. People from the west may see it as barbaric but look at football in comparison and rugby? Afghans may consider that savage and in humane.

God willed that Afghans and Uzbeks this game for it is his will that it came to be..

    As it is his will.

    Allahu akbar.

  • football and rugby are played with balls. this is played with a headless, disemboweled calf carcass. what sounds more barbaric?

  • bamf28 u sound more faggish

  • yeah what sounds barbaric isn't necessarily what is more barbaric. both sports use peices of dead animal for what they throw around.

  • I'm Afghan and you're right, it is barbaric. But how BORING would the world be if everyone played football and rugby??? There are OTHER cultures out there besides the West's. Learn to appreciate other cultures.

  • i have shirt that i made that says on the front GOT BUZKASHI and on the back, "if Buzkashi was easy it would be called rugby"

  • where u get that shirt bro

  • i made it in my class because we r learning about Afghanistan history

  • does anyone who where i can find this attan song for myspace??

  • this game also played by many Central Asian countries like Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and etc...

Sometimes called a "devils game" because of its cruality and pain...

  • This is a game a real man would play, baseball is for females and faggots

  • original name of thise game is not buz kashi

    its;

    ULAK TARTISH

KÖK BÖRÜ CHINGIZKAAN di Atalarimizdi oyunu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • buz kashi isnt a afghani game

ITS A TURUK TURKIC ALTAIC GAME

    ITS GAME OF CHINGIZKHAN

  • That's disgusting...

  • yes it is disgusting, barbaric and cruel to animals.

  • and yet, possibly the most interesting sport I've ever read about

  • GabrielStefan and ffj26 are just fags. i mean do u know how many animals we kill in the west to eat them and how they are emprisonned in cages.

Jesus fuckin crist just open ur eyes and stop living in ur comfortable world

  • killing an animal for food is different then decapitating an animal and dragging it's carcas through the dirt in order to entertain yourself. Eating in natural, if we didn't eat we would die, yet there is no practical reason to do this.

  • footballs are made of pigskin

  • The winning team usually eats it. Apparently all the pulling of the carcass makes the meat tender.

  • i saw this in Rambo 3, i thought it didn't really exist until i saw this. very nice!

  • cirit oyunu gibi birsey ama bunlar keci icin kapisiyorlar hehehe

  • Benim Dedelerimde oynarmis

We Afghans share the same cultural values wherever and whoever we are (Tajiks, Uzbeks, Pashtuns, Hazaras, Turkem and etc). The mixture of traditions from all these ethnic groups made Afghanistan very special.

    Good luck for you all,
