  • just bought a vg30et for my 1985 200sx project . how tough was the swap and would the stock 5 speed work with it ? ? p.s. nice ride much props

  • it came stock with it. 1987 200sx SE

if you want to swap a vg30 into it, its as hard to swap as any other engine. you need custom everything. unless you somehow magically find a whole SE car basically.

  • so what made you go with a VQ30e? j/w

  • some came tock with vg30e's I think the SE right?

  • oh yeah, dumb me x)

i forgot the R200 had the VQ30 and FJ20 that came with the limited slip diffentials

  • the fj20 was not availible in america and the engine was a vg not the vq. no limited slips were availible on american 200sx's

  • i miss mine so much!!!

  • Me too. I had mine for 13 years with NO problems. Would've still had it if my ex-husband hadn't set it on fire. Damn best long lived car I've /ever/ owned.

  • its got way over 183k miles. The odo broke in 2004. driven HARD for the last 50k+ miles, since 2003. I would say its built better then a z31 300zx.

beat a few stock iroc 350 Camaros and h22 preludes with it.. my car has frontpipe back exhuast/ 65mm t/b + intake, msd ignition and advanced timing. tokico illumina struts and springs. fresh bushings

  • WOW! Far as the odo- they seem to always break no matter what you do. That and the speedometer. I agree, it was in many ways built better than the z31.

  • like where you put the guages lol I have mine in the same spot but on the other side oh and quit humming lol
