I am 52 and I will always remember listening to this with my (at the time) 7 year old son in the car on the way to swimming lessons. We both loved it, and I still do. My son is now in a hip hop band in Kelowna - rock on Kyle!
What a delicious little song... I hadn't heard it in years up until 6 months ago and I just caught the tail end of it getting in my car after work tonight. Thanks for scratching this particular itch!
Lol i remember when i was in year 6 at primary school, we had to analyze this for music. i rediscovered it and showed it to all my classmates who were like OMG. crash test dummies ftw
I love this really much... My mum played this song and I was first like: Oh, no... stupid music... come on, who listens to this?!
But then I found this on the Ipod of my cousin and I... burst out in tears... so many... stuff fell together with this song... I love this! My absolute favourite! Together with mmmm mmmm mmmm and God shuffled his feet
@BigMloveskairi this song does have a very strong emotional connection with me too, as do most all songs on this album. I can't really put my finger on why though...
When i listened when was young I didn't really understand very much...still is ambiguous (in a good way).
song inspires such a feeling of "it's all going to be ok"
@heartjump22 - I agree this is an upbeat song, and very good too. The theme is a bit depressing though. I won't tell ya any of it but I will say that if you like that 'ok' feeling then don't read the lyrics.
Some people are so critical of this band, but I love their music! It is great on so many levels. This is not my favorite song of theirs, but this thought just hit me...
Damn it, I feel old listening to this but who gives a shit, it brings back good times.

did anyone catch that this is an allusion to t.s. eliot's "the love song of j. alfred prufrock"?

Anybody else notice how the guitar solo at the beginning sounds amazingly like Gordon Lightfoot?
