Love the vids! did you have experience with using a clutch before you started trucking? im thinking about getting my CDL through a private school, and thats really the only thing i am worried about. Thanks in advance!
Hey Mike. Thanks for the vids . . . they are actually quite interesting to watch. I have one request though - whenever you stop, can you please make sure to say where you are? (closest city is fine). I like to have Google maps open while I watch your vids and actually input the places you mention . . . it's kind of neat to see all the places you've been - like a perpetual road trip! Keep on truckin'!
Hi Mike, I've read a part of your blog, and especially your Q&A, and I have an additional question for you : you said you are on the road for 4 to 8 weeks at a time before returning to home. Given that you wear a different t-shirt everyday (mostly brown ones, it seems), that's would make a lot of clothes to pile up in your truck. How do you handle it ? Do you wash things on the road ?
Thanks for these videos. I'm about to start a career driving and although you show the challenges that driving offers your videos confirm this is what I want!
love your videos, your laid back approach will serve you well in this industry. Happy to see you get good rest, you put a whole new face on trucking, be safe and thanks for a great series. I'll look forward to many more.
@freightguy100 Thanks for the great words! I'm a real laid back guy. So many truckers let the little things get to them. And they wonder why their blood pressure is so high! Get cut off? So what? Reefer quits working? Get it fixed! Just roll with it. Thanks for watching!!
hey awesome vids man 5stars makes me wanna just go trucking right now but i cant i got two more years of high school lol oh yea and do you think you can post a vid of the outside of your truck if you can thanks if ya cant thanks
@WigWagProductions "Might have to get a new one soon." If u ever decide to get a new camera get a Sony HD with a hard drive (HDD), mine has 80 GB and in the best HD quality, 1080p, you have 600 min of continous recording, also you have lower quality choices for up to 4,000 min of continous recording, also you can divide videos, keep the good parts and delete the boring ones, plus HD cameras cost now way less than before, maybe Santa will think of u in a month!
@joruss6676 The OTR lifestyle is something that can't be explained unless you've done it before. Like a scratch that you just can't itch to satisfaction. But family first...be safe out there, driver.
@WigWagProductions Avoid getting personal info, aka trucking comp you work for, over the net, anybody can use it against you, maybe a co-worker who doesnt like you're better driver than him.
Always drive safely and talk 2 u over the cb.
Again, excellent videos, showing everybody that WITHOUT TRUCKS AMERICA STOPS.
@Lostsheepxpress Thanks man. The company I'm with is forced dispatch, so wherever they send me I go. I can't quite pick one place as the "worst" to pick up or deliver. Most of them are pretty bad!
Another great video thanks! More questions though...does dispatch ever send you on a trip that you DO NOT legally have enough driving hours to complete? If so what do you do? Also how often do you have to back up on your blind side? Looks tough!!
@29Hammers Good questions. If I can't make a run legally, I advise my dispatcher before I accept the load. My dispatcher will then either reschedule the appts, set up a trailer swap with another driver down the road, or take me off the load completely. Being on electronic logs, I can not be forced or persuaded to drive illegally. Blind side backing is very tough and dangerous. I avoid it at all costs and very, very rarely have to perform a blind side back.
As with your last series, love this one also. Keep them coming. Damn technology, just when you want it to work it quits. Hope you get it fixed without it costing you too much and then you can carry on with more vids.
@gameover340 Yeah, he would have been fine without my help, but it gave me a reason to stretch my legs and gave him a little added assurance. It's a tricky place, and he got the hardest door. Thanks for watching!
Oh I'm rattled now! Just kiddin'! Great Video's man, Hope to see more soon!

Nice video! As always Mike. Does your company offer no forced dispatch?
Also, I was surprised that other driver didn't have his four ways on when backing into the dock! LOL
Where, may I ask was the worst place you ever had to pick up or deliver to?
Talk to you soon!!
