  • what head do you use?

  • The kick head is a remo powersonic

  • can someone tell me what to do with the mics like where to plug them in at after you set them up on your drums? i have no idea how, i never did this before

  • You use the same snare mic as me, so you're practically my brother. ;) Anyway, I just had to comment on how tasty your cymbals sound! :D

  • listen to the kick..

youv''e kinda reached to a Metal-kick sound.. very boomy and very tight.. but your other percussions sounds pop/rock like.. the kick drums sounds out of mix.. but nice ..

  • It's true. I've since learned to mix the kit to sound like a single instrument, but this tends to be a little unnatural sounding.

  • @spiralout1618 what kick head is that? and how many turns are your toms tuned to?

  • do you like the powersonic?

i just want a head that i dont really need to tune, that is dark and is muffled enough to allow me not to put anything inside the drum.

    powersonic or emad?

  • cool *_* others videos please!!!

  • Hey i have the same kit in black

Are you using the rydeen snare with the st dry?

I use all rydeen drums but my snare is a sonor with the st dry on it.

  • Yeah, I'm using the stock snare on here. It's a little thin sounding, but records nicely. I've since switched to a homebuilt stave snare (bought the shell from Unix drums, then finished and attached hardware), quite a bit fatter and louder.

  • Does your BD sound so nice also with other skins?or its also beacause of Powersonic?

  • Tuning and mic placement is alot more important than head selection.

You should be able to get that sound with any decent kick head, provided it's tuned, muffled and mic'd properly.

  • whats the mic placement on your bass drum? i have a powersonic but i seem to get too much attack.

  • How do u get that bass drum sound i've been trying so long to get it to sound like yours but i can never do it......BTW good drumming and nice sounding drum set.....plzzz reply to me

  • Basically, you achieve the right sound through mic placement, tuning, and effects.

I used a Shure Beta 52, and placed it inside the drum, two inches from where the beater strikes. You can get a similar sound by placing the mic just inside an off-centre porthole, pointed towards the beater impact.

I used a plastic kick beater, and tuned the drum to a medium tension -- higher than you'd think.

    I then added EQ (-6 dB @ 400hZ, +5dB @ 3000 and 7000), and light compression with a slow attack.

  • ty that helps a lot :)
