  • i want a time machine!!!

  • it doesnt seem like 5 year wow...

  • Sugar ray was the shit

  • I owned this CD as a kid back in 1999, but sold it years ago, these days I solely buy vinyl records and was happy to pick this up for $15 still sealed. I was surprised it even had a vinyl release. Took a toothpick to it and enjoying it right now....I really didn't remember but some of the stuff on this album is actually pretty heavy compared to the more poppy hits. Definitely a classic album. I also got Offspring Americana, and RHCP Californication on vinyl today, was a good day!

  • I - IV - I - vi/V

Well kids it starts there, some roman numerals. These have been put to good use year after year, song after song. Oh let me count the songs. I tend to start at the 60s and from then on, even now, the Roman Numerals. Some secret code?

Digging deeper exploring the myths and mysticism of the Roman Numerals. It starts there. Tempo, the Numerals best friend. And Harmony. Where would we be without you? Oh harmony, make it a Triad. Now let us pick a key.

    E.

  • i'd tap that O.o

  • Inspired, and quite beautiful.

  • did it ever occur to anyone that the reason you like this music compared to today's is because you yourself were young....a time where you were still learning, still being made into who you are? i swear, people don't ever grasp that concept.

  • I like this song, and i like Nofx as much as Johann Sebastian Bach.

  • El vacío no es nada que no se pueda compartir. En otras palabras: El vacío se puede compartir. Emptiness is nothing you can't share. Like a stupid woman's brain, holding up, leaving today.

  • sugar ray is by far the best break up, depression, fighting with your gf or bf, everything else in between it just sounds so good. me and my fiance are on the verge of breaking up and this just sets my heart soaring. it feels good to feel swept away

  • Every generation seems to say their music sucks. Nostalgia works in funny ways

  • 90's music sucked.. but sugar ray changed it alllll

  • love every riff and strum of the guitar..... absolutlely amazing.

You feel like falling apart every once in awhile............even if u r married........

  • I remember playing this CD while I was mastering my playstation skills and preparing for y2k I was 10.

  • I've been trying to figure out who sang this song for like eight years after I heard it in a store.I looked it up a few times but apparently there is a million songs with the words run away in them and I had no clue which one was this one.All I remembered was that word and then finally I heard the whole thing again.Lol had a confusing time getting here but good song!

  • @celebrateyourlife21 We went on the same ride then, lol. I found every other song with the words 'run away' BUT this one until I heard it again in McDonald's a few months ago

  • damn they had some GREAT songs

  • my girl said she luvd me to this song just an hour ago... when we kissed it felt like 1999 all over again x)

  • man, I wept a little...I hated high school when I was in it...now I miss it

  • have you noticed the their Album (14:59 ) in the description is a time marker lol

  • @PediBaba It has something to do with 15 minutes of fame. There 15 wasn't up.

  • @kevin080592 hey Im 15. This is the stuff I grow up with, and unlike others of my generation, I hate todays music. I was just looking around for the good ol tunes, and Ive foundem!

  • speak for yourself i hated the 90s and my school years

  • Favorite Sugar Ray song! So many good memories. God I wish i could have the 90's again! It seems to me everyone is in agreement, they just don't music this good anymore. WHAT HAPPENED to people's soul, their passion?

  • @mario1136 yea it sure does. to be young and dumb. i would relive it all over again if i could my friend.

  • @TheSwagbuckshottie Yeah man. Same here. People don't know how lucky they are to grow up in the 20th century. I was born in 1997 unfortunately :(

  • @mario1136 don't worry man - everyone wishes they were born 10 years earlier when it comes to music. I was born in 79, and wished it was 69! In 10/15yrs people will be saying they wish they were born in 1997!

  • @TheSasn Haha wow. I never realized that!

  • @mario1136 Hold you tomorrow but you're leaving today : )

  • @666kpittack funny man! kids today dont have to take the risks we did in the 90s. they can just steal an album on the internet in the comfort of their own homes now : (

  • @TheSwagbuckshottie LOL, so did you buy it?

  • @mrtemper85 no i never bought it. The album is worth it, i like pretty much every song on it.

  • @TheSwagbuckshottie i lived behind a Kmart in '99 and would also go and hit them up at least once a week for a cd. i like to believe that i'm the one behind them closing all those stores in various states, lol.

  • I don't like Sugar Ray... but I love this song. :)

  • @farkas419 now that just doesn't make any sense. these dudes made some great music!

  • @underlinedbluetext I know it doesn't make sense. Their music has just never appealed to me, apart from this song. I tried listening to them, really. Didn't like them.

  • Sumtimes we'll feel around n diz dance instead can't b down

All da sound of me on ma own

  • why do i suddenly feel old, but i really don't mind :)

  • 50 people think 14:59 is a link in the timeline.

  • The 50 people who dislike this didn't grow up in the 90s and like Rebecca Black.

The 2,244 people that like this grew up in the 90s and knows what good music is.

  • Omg I have been trying to remember this song for YEARS. I'm so happy I found it.

  • SeXxY SUGAR RAY , DAMN HE WAS EYE CANDY BACK THEN!!!!!!!

( in my opinion LOL) wnder what it would b like to party with him bck then

  • I love every beat, every strum of the riff, scratch of on tune table, and go go 70 dancers.

I can listen to him all day!

  • I love every beat, every strum of the riff, scratch of on tune table, and go go 70 dancers.

Me: Nirvana, Sugar Ray, Matchbox 20, Smashing pumpkins etc.

    Girl: Who?

    Me:....Fuck you

  • right now were living in one of the worst centuries ever for music

  • @RockerJack15

there are some good artists ya just got to look hard and overseas (alot). Mostly I agree thought too much crap is coming out of the American music scene

  • @RockerJack15 You do realize that this really is not that different than rock today, right?

But I know, it's cool to say that music today sucks and everything before 2000-whatever is good.

  • @RockerJack15 Says you but instead of saying today's music sucks I would just look a little harder because good music is out there.

  • @solesurv yea but if lived 20 years ago i wouldntve had to look harder. back then good music was fairly mainstream.

  • im only 16 and late 90's music is the best? didnt even know music was till like 2004? haha sugar ray , 311 , greenday , sum41 , BLINK -182 FTW :D

  • "Emptiness is something you can't share" beautifully put

do you guys remember wallflowers, one head light? best music ever......"SAN ANTONIO HOLMES HIGHSCHOOL IS THE BOOM!!!!!" hahahaha...class of 2000

  • 90's is TALENT and 2011 is AUTOTUNE =(

  • @elvis90s The pop stuff is, but there is a lot of good indy rock/alternative out there that isn't autotune.

  • @elvis90s most people don't listen to the radio anymore.

  • @elvis90s then Explain groups like OneRepublic and Panic! At The Disco.

  • @akiira69 Explanation: Neither of those bands are AT ALL as successful as Sugar Ray.

  • @elvis90s I hate to break it to you, Autotune has been in use with pop music since the 80's. it hit peak in the 90's and early 2000's with a large shift away in 2006-2011. At the moment pop music has moved away from autotune almost completly... that being said, pop music is and always has been shit. Remember radio in the 90's? Backstreet boys and Celine Dion was all they fucking played. Not a damn thing has changed, music is still as good and bad as it was in the 90's, you just need to look.

  • @S0ryiu dude just shutup

  • @emxkryptic I do believe I have more right to speak since I'm promoting artists that you overlook and showing that popular music during any era is never what is remembered. You on the other hand are spouting notalgic half truthes in an attempt to gain sympathy.

  • @S0ryiu if there has been a shift away from autotune it's because there's been a shift back towards lip synching. popular music was not always shit. look at the bands that dominated the radio stations during the early to mid nineties: pearl jam, nirvana, radiohead, foo fighters, blur, alice in chains, tu pac, notorious big.... the list is long. i do agree with you that popular music now is dominated by shit, but like you said, there's still good music out there, you just gotta look.

  • @07foxmulder See, I remember the 90's differently. I would turn on the radio and be assaulted by shit like celine dion, madona, backstreet boys, ect on every damn station. Good music has never been on the radio where I live.

  • still awesome today 2011 !

  • Did people like the album "Floored"? because I bought it the other day, having only heard "Fly" and was... surprised with the sound of the rest of the album.

  • @Jolamarajami Floored is good, but in a different way. "Fly" is where Sugar Ray found their sound.

  • @Jolamarajami what do you mean suprised

  • This was when Napster was king! The dot com bubble was well on its way to reaching the point-of-no-return.

  • VISIT SUGAR RAY'S NEW OFFICIAL BAND PAGE(RAN BY THE GUYS THEMSELVES) ON FACEBOOK! IT WON'T ALLOW ME TO POST THE LINK SO GO TO FACEBOOK AND SEARCH SUGAR RAY.

  • oldschool!!!!

    fuck niggers!!!

  • 0:14 Is that the stage for the show "Don't forget the lyrics"? I swear it is! AND he's the host of that show too!

  • proud be born in 1990. too bad I rarely hear these guys on the radio anymore.

  • @rthrbcurling i always here them in stl its that clasic 90s sound

  • comment about how this generations music is better than all others

  • Meh... I had such a mean crush on his cocky ass!!! Who didn't???!!!

WHAT HAPPENED TO MUSIC LIKE THIS???!!!! SAD!

  • I've been looking for this song EVERYWHERE. It's been stuck in my head for years, but I could only remember bits and pieces of the chorus...not enough to find it on google.

Walked into McDonald's tonight and what do I hear on their radio?

    I just about freaked out

  • everytime i hear this song. i remember my high school life

  • i love 90's music. i can listen all day and never get tired. completely relaxing. Love sugar ray. heroes to me

  • And It Goes "Runaway Runaway!!!!!!" Catchy Song..90's Is The Best Era Not Like Music/Life Nowadays Just Predictable.... No Orginality, Auto-Tune Music, No Life or Exitement, Not Innocent, Horrible Fashion Sense Just Everything Out Of This Freaking World!!!!

  • anyone else thin that the beginning sounds like the start to best around the karate kid song.

  • ah, grew up in the 90s

  • Going to see these guys June 26 at The Pavilion here in Charlotte cant wait

  • How come I can`t listen to 2000s music on XM Radio on Direct TV without feeling gay?

  • sugar ray got played out but ill always come back to songs like this

  • @TheSasn yes that's true but even people still doing stuff today- U2, Madonna, Moby, Weezer- their stuff in the 90s was way better! But for all the Justin Beibers of the world, we still have an Arcade Fire or an XX. The best test of a good band is still whether they sound better live than in the studio. Boycott autotune!!

  • yep 90's teens had it good....wish music was so good now

  • @bravo6388 There are sooooo many, dude... "No doubt - Don't speak", "Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss me", "Oasis - Wanderwall", "Alanis Morissette - I'm a b***h, I'm a lover", "Natalie Imbruglia - Torn", and a very long so on... My favourite one: "Eagle Eye Cherry - Save tonight".

  • @vitolpa Meredith Brooks sang the song Bitch, good song and Alanis Morissette's music rocks. Bush, Savage Garden, New Radicals and many more rocked..Does anybody remember Whitetown-Your woman?

  • @beatlebeltran67 Ah! I love Whitetown!!!!

  • sugar ray really knows the music :)) love it :)) <3

  • I fucken love Sugar Ray. To bad there's not many good bands like them today :/ fuck you Justin Beiber. Haha.

  • Bring back the 90's please im sick of this lady gaga and justin beiber bullshit

  • love the 90's....... i miss the songs back then.

  • DAMN I MISS THIS GROUP.COME ON MARK MCGRATH GET THE GROUP BACK TOGETHER AND MAKE A NEW ALBUM.

  • @MrJSU2010 and please don't try to autotune

  • Ah! I feel like 12 again! back in 1999 it was sugar ray, Lit, the offspring, Blink 182, smash mouth, weezer......

  • this song felt so intense at the time!

  • i feel like im 15 again in the best way

  • Remember Barenaked Ladies

  • This song is so beautiful. It's so awesome that a lot of people can relate to this song. Take me for example.

  • wel 92. so i stil remember al this awesome stuff almost lyk it was yesterday.. and i definately listen to it alot.. much more that the majority of my generation that listens to crap like (in my opinion) bieber, gaga, katy perry, and other stuff lyk that.

  • @anubisnave

bieber gaga katy perry generation was born in 95-96

  • when they showed the girl dancing on the fountain, memories started rushing back at me

  • @billyball2......hell yea we had good music!!!!!!!!! this song came out 4 years after I graduated high school. It was a much easier time then too!!!!!

  • lets not forget smashing pumpkins, the cranberrys, candle stick, the goo goo dolls etc.

  • I'm wandering weren't they featured in a Barbie cartoon?

  • mmm anyone care to try and sum up the/a meaning behind this song?

  • Reminds me of my current f'd up life^

  • this song and Story of my life are my favorites from the 90's

  • Sooo many things got spilt. What a mess

  • this is only one of many, many 90's rock songs which has that 'growing up', 'never gonna be like this again' type of vibes

  • Love the 90s

  • love...love sugar ray :)

  • 90's... Nostalgia.

  • McG! Class.

  • What happened to good music like this? I miss music of the late 90s

  • @starcon6 what happened is you grew up and stuff stopped being nostalgic and magical to you. This song was actually quite crap to us who were adults at the time, stuff from your childhood always seems magical.

  • @starcon6 Hannah Montana, and all the other people who ruin music, happened.

  • @starcon6 dont forget early linken park limp biskit korn, and nirvana!! everything good
