Today, nearly one billion people (about 1in 8) lack access to clean water. More than 3.5 million die each year from water-related disease; 84% are children. Lack of access to clean water and sanitation kills at a rate equal to a jumbo jet full of kids every 4 hours. $25 can supply a person with clean water for life. The more people know the more we can make a difference. If you see this, please like it/copy and paste to another vid and give any amount you can.
I don't understand this video. It's a 5 minute concept stretched out to 50. The speaker keeps rephrasing obvious, simple things over and over as if he's trying to pad. Did Google mess up and require him to talk longer than he needs to?
Besides that, this also fails to provide a good, coherent analysis of charities in general, and simply advertises their own charity rating site.
Anyhow, people don't give to charity rationally, they give to whatever moves them emotionally.
I came to SMBC for boob jokes. I got linked here, after watching it I suppose this is sort of as interesting. Could use a boob here and there, though.
@BatmenInBlack unfortunately he's right, not everyone has an hour of free time to watch something impractical. I for example could use a transcription of this talk.
@BatmenInBlack yeah, because that'll solve the problem of wasting an hour of my precious time instead of reading exactly the same amount of information in less than 10 minutes?
@danthemango Doctors Without Borders and The Red Cross are good for disaster relief. Non-disaster charities like Village Reach are well researched and important.

and the followup a week later:

Go back to 4chan, with your tl;dr bullshit.
