As a Sydney bus driver, I can only agree with you! The rules state you shd ALWAYS maintain a safety buffer . . . as much as 3-4 secs if possible. That's not always possible in city traffic, but this guy's a real dick!

atanas747, in Perth, as in the rest of Australia, people drive on the left hand side of the road. The driver's seat is the front right one. Leach Hwy is a triple carriageway, the bus is in the slow lane.
My problem here is that the footage appears to having been taken from the RHS - is it the driver, or the rear RHS passenger. If it is the driver, he is in the wrong, and also a hypocrite.

that only works if the car he's tailgating is bigger than the bus, which it clearly isn't. also, slipstream works best if the vehicle is actually further back from the one in front of it. Regardless, even if the bus could somehow manage to create a slipstream from a vehicle smaller than itself, the benefits of being fuel efficient from using slipstream are so low that they wouldn't counter the risks of driving so recklessly.

'keep left unless overtaking', and there is also a rule, passing on the lefthand side is 'under-taking', and this IS illegal.
There is also laws for tailgating, which is what this bus driver is doing, quite dangerous.
