@ctyuang my guess is because of the difference in attack sound..upstrokes and downstrokes sound different

@ctyuang Downstrokes give a more precise attack and a different tone. A lot of what he is doing is arpeggios and downstrokes may lend themselves better for his style of playing. Anyway, he doesn't only do down strokes - 06:59 he's got some upstrokes in there
