We are so sorry about your boy. Our 10 month old blue Dane died last week out of nowhere. We were told he had either an aneurysm or some kind of sudden cardiac event. How old was Hagrid? It's been an upsetting week. We just can't get our heads around what's happened because our pup was so young.

Hagrid is the most beautiful Great Dane I ever seen. Especially, in a way, and in a sense, the next Scooby Doo.

Why I say that is because everyone knows Scooby Doo was a talking Great Dane, and because he looked like and sounded like he was talking to you when you were talking to him, that made him almost sound like the next Scooby Doo. Anyways, he did a good job the way he was talking.

Very sorry for your loss, I had a blue great dane just like Hagrid called Rubble, I used to play with him like this and he made the same noises, he was the most loving and affectionate dog ever and we were inseparable. This video brings back some cherised memories for me as Im sure it brings back even more so for you. Sorry to announce this but Hagrid died 4 weeks ago. He was playing in the yard with our other dog, came inside, and died instantly. Did CPR, but the vet thinks he had a stroke or massive heart attack. We miss our beautiful Dane & his funny antics.

@NaturalXSuper I had a brindle dane many, many years ago who died of what was termed "runaway heart" (I'm assuming some form of tachycardia)...he lived to within 3 days of his 9th B-Day (somewhat older than the average for a dane)...even after 30+ years, I have dreams about him (maybe a few times per year)...my heart goes out to you for your loss...if getting a new dane can help you get through your grieving process and ultimately restore (or simply make you) happy - then I say, "Go for it"...

I wrote a comment before about ppl saying Hagrid was not purebred. That was prior to my getting my own puppy. But now, I have a 5mo old Blue Dane named Bentley and I have to say that he looks like Hagrid, so I guess I have a mutt dane like u! ;) Anyhoo, I got his ear cropped, but when he puts his ears down (like he does during car rides lol) he looks just like your dog. He even had the white on his chest like Hagrid. Beautiful dog. I cant get my puppy to talk tho. :(

He's a purebred, coming from an owner of one. Blues come in all shapes and sizes. And they do have white on their chests. He is gorgeous! I wanted a blue but found them too expensive, which lead em to my "first son", he's black. After having him, we are a Great Dane family. An Amazing breed!
