  • I've seen Queen Mary 2 in Southampton on the day when I was going to Titanic's museum. It was massive. Im gonna go some time Southampton-New York with QM2 just to see what it felt like for the people on the titanic;) I wonder if they're gonna announce the place where titanic sank whilst going by it... that would be awesome... xD

  • How long do you think it'd take for the QM2 to sink after hitting an iceberg?

  • @SBernardoni1991 IF her hull was penetrated by and iceberg the crew would try and patch the hole, if that failed one section would be flooded and sealed off so she could continue her journey or make her way to a port under her own power.

  • @SBernardoni1991 she wouldn't sink she has 57 watertight doors 25 compartments with the bulkhead going up to deck 10 also the possibility of her meeting an iceberg is very slight as she is on her world cruise in the months it is commonly know to encounter berg not saying the possibility is impossible its just unlikely with all the equipment onbord for her to be in 15 miles of one

  • @TheTraveltube They said that about titanic... It sank bro...

  • @megadog103 actually the question was how long would it take for QM2 to sink and was that where titanic was docked i know titanic sank i had family aboard lost 2 set of family 1 in 1st class and another in 2nd

  • @TheTraveltube God rest these people in peace;( Im sorry to hear this but it must be quite fascinating. Its quite strange that the family of the first class didn't get saved too. You must've had a rich family too;) I mean first class?! Makes me think sometimes what these people have been through on that ship... Horrible... QM2 is almost 100m longer and a little taller than titanic. I think that with the casuality like the one on the titanic it would take 3 maybe 4 hrs to sink...

  • @megadog103 QM2 is an amazing ship hopeful it will be around longer and not be sunk and it is fascination yet wierd knowing that i had family aboard titanic in 1st class not sure of their wealth but i do know they were big shareholders in american companies and were travelling over to one of their many residences suppose it help as it was my great grandmothers 3rd cousin who was married into a branch off the Rothschild family shame nowadays my family doesn't have as much as we did back then

  • @TheTraveltube This is terrible;( R.I.P. Sometimes it makes me think what if I was there... Fuck... I'd probably sink with the ship... Its quite a shame that she sank. Im quite fascinated by the titanic itself. It was really a few weird facts because of which she sank. Stupid facts too. I mean SS Californian was within 9 miles of Titanic and they didn't help cause the "radioman" was asleep. Also with the fire between 5-6th section of the ship.

  • Thats where Titanic was docked

  • @robloxlumber123 ...Queen Mary 2 was docked at 38/39 berth which is called dockhead and the berth that Titanic left was 44 and was 5 berths to the left called ocean dock.

  • i can't wait to hear those horns again in October

  • That cruise was awsome : Southampton- NYC

  • that says queen marry 1

  • can't believe it's left southampton! :)

  • Not sure if you were getting confused with the QE2 or not but its the QE2 which left Southampton for good not QM2 as shown here which will be back in the very near future, at the moment she is somewhere near Guam, Pacific Ocean.

  • I'm going on her in May. Can't wait! :)

  • I love how the horns sound :)

  • cant wait to see QM2 when she comes to Halifax,NS on 10 October I will be filming her as she leaves port. and the prick below you really are a cretin to say such a idiotic fucking thing its actually human lives you are talking about okay stupid ffs

  • Great Video, 5 Stars! I went on this great little train the other day, and really enjoyed it!

  • I love the QM2 voice!

The only passenger larger than the QM2 is RCCL Freedom class and Oasis class. The is still longer, wider and maybe taller than the

Freedom class. She a true oceanliner that take clues from the oringinal QM, QE2, Normandie and France/Norway into her design. She very much my favorite ship in world!

  • I was on It !! I LOVE QM2

  • 0.38 RED FUNNEL!!!!

  • you got to love red funnel shows up justed on time lol

  • not as good as a dingy.lol

  • wot a noise fab (cunard)

  • Hey, this is the same spot as Titanic left!!

  • yup.

  • It's the same place that a lot of ships leave from lol

  • Queen Mary 2 is an ocean liner-capable of crossing the North Atlantic in all types of weather and at high speed (over 26 knots average). Other than the soon to be retired Queen Elizabeth 2, very few cruise ships are able to do that. A few reason she cost so much is because of her higher speed power plant (w/4 propellers) and stronger hull w/thicker steel. She is a true ocean liner (that also does cruises).

  • For those who doesn't have any ideas:

Queen Mary 2 is the BIGEST, THE MOST EXPENSIVE (here comes a tricky one) "LINE SHIP" in thw world. Forget other ships, there are some ships bigger, but not in this category. LINE SHIP

    Wanna spelling?

  • P&Os Ventura is bigger than the QM2!

  • ...No its not

  • Imagine if that sunk. Cool video

  • louder is better

  • The ship's horn is kinda loud..

  • out standing!

  • souuuthampton

  • I love this vid, and gees her horns are really low pitched. Hey, she's a big ship with big horns. Nice vid, it's definitly going into my favorites!

  • This ship is fast!

  • Yeah, I think she can travel at 24 knots at full speed. And that is fast for ship her size. :)

  • acually she can reach up to 30=)

  • Wow, that's even better!!! XD

  • wow. your comments were helpfull.

  • This ship kinda looks like Poseidon.

  • yes the old poseidon movie was filmed with the Queen Mary 1 and the new one was filmed with the

    Queen Mary 2

  • Wrong! The old Poseidon movie was filmed with the R.M.S. Queen Mary, but the new one is NOT with the Queen Mary 2. It was a made up ship design.

  • POSEIDON was filmed a very tiny bit aboard the QM2.

  • i am proud to live in southampton this boat is quality and has made southampton well known and i went on a cruise the aurora but not as good as queen mary

  • Beautiful ship! I agree with some others here though that the old school four stacked steamers (Titanic, Aquitania, etc..) had a simple and elegant beauty unlike anything built before or since. But regardless, the QM2 is an awesome ship! I plan to take a voyage on the QM2 soon.

  • yes, i have to agree, the QM2 is another great british designed ship, but the titanics lines were much more prettier! the titanic had the hull design similar to that of the old sailing ships! nice...

  • titanic was the biggest ship of her time and QM2 is the biggest ship now!

  • Royal caribbean is building a ship that will be 220,000 tons....and that will knock teh QM2 right off:(

  • *falls on knees* Oh nooooo!!!! ;__; Oh well, the QueenMary2 may not be the biggest anymore, but she is still my favorite.

  • Yes, The Independance of the Seas, And ive booked my tickets to go on her!

  • me too, its got to be the best way to cross the atlantic!

  • dude boats are the best way to get to everywhere (apart form space and up a mountain :D )

  • looks nice but i prefer titanic

  • Me too. She (Titanic) will always be one of the most beautiful ships, to me. :-D

  • @haywoodbadman10 you miss the chimney stacks, aye?

  • wounderful

  • fantastic video the best queenmary

  • Who is bigger? Titanic or Queen Mary??

  • Both RMS Queen Mary and RMS Queen Mary 2 are larger than RMS Titanic.

  • Are u shure?? Cuz in the movie Titanic was DAMN HUGE!!

    Remember?? :)

  • Of course, Titanic was and is damn huge. But Queen Mary and Queen Mary 2 are even larger.

  • Titanic was (roughly) 45,000grt.

    QE2 is (roughly) 72,000grt

    QM2 is (roughly) 148,000grt.

QM2 and QE2 are far larger than the Titanic, sorry but ships have come a long way since 1912.

  • but queen mary 2 is´a but taller than titanic.

  • that's a fuckin huge ship

  • Is it in the docks often?

    I am from Southampton.

  • You can see it on 24/04/07 when its next due in and due to leave at 5pm on that day, you can see it from either Town Quay or a better view from Hythe it berths at 38/39.

  • Thanks alot for the info!

I shall try to film it myself and you should probably see my vid on here after that date, maybe I could send it if you can't find it.

So does it leave from down near Mayflower?

Where is Town Quay? Ya see I'll go stay with my gran if I can..who lives nearer.

  • If you are on the Southampton side best to view from the end of town quay as you will see it ok from there but not Mayflower Park or if you are able to get to Hythe then you will have a better view as it passes the end of Hythe Pier. Yes I will look forward to seeing your video, many thanks.

  • Ok, its planned lol, my mum's bf is going to drive me after I finish school and I shall go with my camcorder..

From down in Ocean Village-Town Quay?

Are you going to be seeing it?

  • thats one hell of a beautiful ship wish I was on it

  • I'm fully aware of the two Tyfons, I'm wondering if there are any more horns on the ship besides them.

  • No not that I am aware of.

  • Does the Queen Mary 2 have smaller air horns as well as the two steam horns?

  • QM2 has 2 Tyfon horns installed and one of them is from the original Queen Mary which was launched in 1936 which is now 70 years old.

  • Queen Mary 2 is an amazing achievement by the members of the White race. Let us therefore embrace ourselves in our boundless greatness!

  • your welcome hoppy82. is that the exact spot were Titanic was docked before she left South Hampton Peir back in 1912?

  • I have just posted another clip this time a view from Town Quay just opposite where a Red Funnel Vessel leaving and you see in background a Royal Fleet Auxillary Ship which is laid up at berth 49 and just the other side of that berth is Ocean Dock where Titanic sailed from berth 44 for New York in 1912 and as camera pans also you see a Car/Truck ship and just in front of that looking towards Dock Head is berth 38/39 where QM2 and other passenger ships leave from.

  • great video^_^ she docked with the queen mary 1 in Long Beach City twice.

  • Well thank you very much for your kind comment. This video I took was from Hythe near the New Forest, which has great views up and down the Solent and Southampton docks.
