Trying to start the 78 F250 with dead cheap walmart batteries.

Yes Walmart batteries are cheap and the ever start battery only lasted a year. I brought three batteries from them in the past three years and I have learned my lesson.

dad said its my first car and we are concerned about gas so we downgraded. Its a cammed 302 bored .60 over (to a 310) were puttin a holley 650 on it and headers :D it should be nice :)

@paulerbear119 They're no fun when you try to get good gas mileage haha! Not bad. The 302 will run pretty hot for a small engine, specially cammed with a big 4bbl. I'm not concerned with gas, my f150 with a 302 gets around 15 an thats the best. My jeep truck gets about 4mpg lmao!

Yeah we are thinking anywhere from 15-17 depending on parts and how i drive. lmao nice mpg on that jeep :P

@paulerbear119 With an auto trans and if you keep your foot out of the gas (hard to do at times, when the power is there its hard not to use it lol) you should be able to manage 16mpg. Haha thanks, that's why I don't drive it alot. After I finish it I'll have to show it off though.

i just got my 78 F-250 dream truck! just got done giving it a tune up, tach, volt, temp, oil pressure, and oil temp gauges in it. its sweet, ill have to put a video up of it now, it looks pretty good compared to when i first got it.

i say put it back on the road! :) this looks like one sweet truck! :) all this truck needs is a yellow top optima battery and whats the problem with the cooling? is a water pump ? or rad? either way thats a easy fix to have such a sweet truck back on the road :) good luck with it and hope to see it get back on the road again :)

Needs a radiator and heater core. Yeah I know, it looks so sad just sittin there. But it still gets used and ran. It runs awesome.

My brother has a 1978 ford f250 4x4 xlt lariat with a 514 in it, it has the c6automatic id rather have a manual, my dad bought it new in 78 with a 400 v8, and the 514 has the starter motor from the 400 on it still, hopefully I can get it from him in a few years, it will always stay in the family.

yeah tell me about those crappy wal-mart batteries in 2009 on our riding mower were going to have to find a different battery somewhere else becuase of those piece of junk ever start lawn mower batteries last a year for else and thier dead were thinking about trying a diehard battery on it in 2009 after we get the deck fixed

Them damb things are so cheap, I bought one of them to put in a subaru, didnt last one winter, I paid 90 bucks for one and it lasted me 8 years
