If you're judging for messiness, I have to go with the borzoi. Look at that tail, it's got at least 5 lbs of mud in it! I used to have borzois and lived in the same kind of red dirt as you. I was always amazed at how they'd come in the house looking bright pink, and a half hour later they'd be back to white again. Their coats really shed dirt. My house, not so much. Oh, and their turbo shedding, it smothered or strangled every appliance or machine I owned! Even my computer.

My friend had one. It got in a fight with a mixbreed that was smaller. The mix got underneath and ripped the belly open on the Wolfhound. His dog unded up with major surgery to close the wound. Being tall or big won't always win. The mix beed was a stray, don't know what ever happened to it.
