I´m thinking about buying a Lilliput monitor just like yours, the problem is that i have a Indisystem shoulder rig, and it is to mutch heavy to plug more heavy gear.
The question is: Your monitor it´s heavy? The DVI mode on t2i and 5d solves the blink problem in any lilliput monitor that has this function? Can you make some review about this stuff? Thanks bro.
I own a t2i and I was confused with why my lilliput 667-GL wasn't showing up on the DVI mode but after playing around with it, I figured out the solution. When in HDMI mode, I press the "DISP." button on my t2i and somehow it resizes it to something that looks 4:3. after that, try going into DVI mode on your lilliput monitor. It did the trick for me.
I bought a CVFQ-E157 monitor from ChinaVision Hong Kong which is really an unbranded OEM Lilliput 7" monitor and it has a AV button on it. Pressing the AV button will also toggle the DVI mode. Thanks for the tip! The blinking HDMI is driving me nuts, it also crashes my Magic Lantern.
Have you ever had problems getting the DVI mode to work? I've hooked up my 550D and lilliput to my rig, but when i turn it on to DVI mode it says "No input signal". However in i switch to HDMI mode it works. Occasionally I can get a signal through DVI but mostly never. Am i doing something wrong?
I would also like to know as well. I'm looking at getting the 5" version and i wouldn't be able to use it if it blinked like that.. (will be using 55D/60D w/magic lantern)
Anyone ever tried the above combination or similar???
@onelonedork I tried this exact Lilliput 8" with the 60D. Changing to DVI does not fix blink issue...in fact, it says "no input signal" when using DVI mode and then screen goes blank. Same thing w/ PC, Video 1&2. Only HDMI mode shows an actual picture on the monitor. Furthermore, when you hit record in HDMI mode, the picture aspect ratio changes and gets completely squashed into a long, flat image...way different than the correct aspect ratio of LiveView on the montior.

Hey there! I just wanted to say that if you own a Lilliput 7" 668GL-70NP/H/Y like me you have to enable DVI in a secret menu to get it rolling. You access this menu by holding the powerbutton for like 5-6 seconds. A new menu appears, press the menu button for the next menu to show. There you can scroll down and enable DVI.
when i'm recording with my new lilliput the image gets squashed when in DVI mode and it sometimes doesn't come on. Only works properly on HDMI mode. Does magic lantern offer the ability to view 2 sources at once, ie view the video on the T2i's LCD and the Lilliput?
Hi which model of Lilliput monitor is this? Not sure if i'm being blind. Also do you know if this life saving trick will works on other lilliput models?
@onelonedork That's incredible, for me this put the lilliput above the pro brands by a quite a way (even if it wasn't an intentional function!) Just ordered one - thanks for the info :-)
what setting on your lilliput do u use as far as brightness, color, tint ect. im finding myself unplugging the hdmi to view the lcd making sure everything is ok. then pluggin back in
Hi there, would you recommend this specific model of the lilliput? I've seen that it does not have a tint/saturation option in the menu, how does the colour/image compare to the DSLR's screen?
@StormBoxStudios The color isn't perfect on the Lilliput monitor. I haven't had any problems, but you are willing to spend more money there are better monitors out there like the smallHD.
Hey, how did you get the picture in DVI mode to fill up the entire monitor? I have a lilliput 8" monitor going into my 550D and when in DVI mode, it sizes the picture on the monitor down so that it doesn't fill up the display (not utilizing the full 8" screen).
@macdabby The monitor actually stays at SD in DVI mode as far as I can tell. The DVI mode just changes the way the monitor handles the HDMI input, you still use an HDMI cable.
@sourcekings I think for me the $28 monitor will be used mostly on sliders, steady cam, and odd angle shots. Anywhere that I need something light weight and small.
@onelonedork oh ok thats good what you got coming up any movies or anything?
whats on the calender for you? what do you think would be a good first project to put onto youtube something simple?
do you know of any good ideas for a one man short film where one person has to do everything? something like your doing but something to learn storytelling?
I just received my 7" monitor and it doesn't seem to have the dvi setting. Not sure if its because its the cheaper 7" one or what. And man coollcd.com shipped mine in 3 days to Canada, i was impressed.
@Pickle11523 I've used the older 7" 669GL and If you grab the remote and click through the inputs it has a DVI input in the list. Not sure if thats the model you bought.
@onelonedork I have the 669AH and it doesn't have the problem with the blinking on the 7d. No delay what so ever. I didn't get to test it until today. Thanks for the reply.
I'm slightly considering getting the Lilliput monitor but not sure if I need it and maybe I'm just getting it cause it looks cool haha. I have a t2i so it will only come out standard def, do you think there is much of a point? Because the resolution on the t2i with the monitor X I have from jag35 is really good quality. Would the Lilliput make it any easier to focus?
Question....when I watch playback on the monitor....using the dvi option, it will not play sound. I am not running magic lantern....should I be?

How does the lilliput react with the 60D? Does it blink? Does it use the full real estate of the screen?

Hi! Does the picture show a little too stretched while recording ?
I noticed that when In HDMI while in Live view the picture stays normarl but when hitting record it stretches a little too much?

You aren't plugging anything into another port - is this DVI-thingy just an option of the monitor, or a hardware-plug? I don't get this by now.
But that would explain that I can't find any DVI-plug on that monitors when I'm looking for them at coollcd.com?

@SuperFastHD there is a scale setting of 4:3/16:9 in the menu on the monitor. That should solve your problem.
