  • The power that you guys can take on a chevy 302 in line 6 is drawn from 1500HP?

  • Same engine that came in my Pop's '66 GMC. It's still in there and it still running. Damn thing is a street legal tractor. Others might not get it but that's an awesome engine. No it's now a small block but on the bright side it isn't a small block. It's different has the same torque and better mileage.

  • Very cool man. That 235 keeps it very unique.

  • Love the 235! Great old engine, reliable and tough....even cheap if you hunt hard enough... nice rig!!

  • I'm going to be picking up my '72 250 in a day. I hope what I build will be sounding as fine and this inline.

  • Where is the car? I can only see a pile of trash.

  • @I3eta what do you drive? your mom's vw golf?

  • Dude's right - looks cool but if ya don't run airfilters then ya don't really love it...

  • I LOVE this song!!!! keep it STRAIGHT!!

  • Sounds great

  • great!

  • sounds like an airplane

  • Can I download sound for alarm in the morning?

  • ...She's a rat princess! I luv the way the radiator sits way in back of the front axle

-what a great Sat nite cruzer!! What part of the world are you in?

  • Love it !! awesome car!!!!

  • Bet it gets good damn mileage with that modern five speed and road gears in the back. Sounds nice too, though the camera clips quite a bit.

  • Nothing wrong with those drums but personally I don't care how cool it looks ya gotta have an air filter.

  • Good lord the sound this beast make! What a sound man! I love the I6 sound!

    Very cool rod mate! :)

  • eita porra...ai sim ta cabulosoo

  • SWEET

  • Chevrolet 235 ????

  • @MartinchoDH yes

  • @MartinchoDH yes - check out the other video I just uploaded

  • @cpmotors Great!! I have got a Chevrolet 253 in my Chevy Apache '60!! I'm from Argentine...Greetings!!

  • @cpmotors Why dont you put a 327cui engine or a higher one ? Or are you thinking about this ?

  • @trbossdoggy Over here in the States small block Chevy's- like a 327- are in everything! It gets old seeing and hearing the same thing. This was a good running engine that was installed as is- no rebuild or anything. Keeps the cost down and the bang for the buck high-

  • @FordManMT Fair enough brother, no harm done. I have never under stood people that slag other peoples interests in vehicles other than there own. I am a die hard GM guy, mostly Chev and Pontiac. But i love all cars including Ford, Mopar and the independents. They are all great automobiles and we are all in this together. I own a Canadian 1957 Pontiac with a 261 inline six and a 1974 Chev Caprice Estate wagon with a 400 V-8. Cheers brother.

  • @261longstroke This is true Stroke.

Right now Im building a tube truggy with 38" tires and 4 wheel steering. Im useing a 300ci inline 6. With my new transfer case doubler the final drive ratio is 96:1, should be able to climb anything

  • woha niiiiiiice sound....ilove that. Please more of that!!!!

  • I LOVE IT!!! I am a Ford man at heart, but I am glad to see such a cool truck with a 6 in it! Great job!

  • Love 6-pots. They can surprise some V8's.

  • this muste be fun to drive.the sound already sais it

  • i need ice in my intime!!! im a german, but i still sit there with open eyes and stopped breath when i view this video ;) id dont know, if my english is correct, but i dont care about ;D i love this "blubb blubb blubb" ;) respect!

  • @SuchtUrne Good English my friend! It's cool that you like the old American cars and trucks. I was in the Army in Germany and had an old Ford truck people loved it every where I went! It made me feel good!

  • Great sound!

  • you can't get this sound from a rice boiler engine can you? awsome engine

  • This made my day! If tech was supposed to make life better, why do I fight with all the time?

  • what was the t-5 and clutch out of? did the t-5 bolt up to the 235's bellhousing? thanks Big D

  • the sound is a booming thunderclap. There is a truck in my area with a 250 straight six with a straight pipe. His motor is strong and it pulls hard. 350's..zzzzzzz. i'm glad you went with a motor everyone else throws away.i do the police in your area leave you alone with the safety issues?

  • sounds almost like a big rig

  • Cool car and interesting vid. I've been wanting to take some similar videos from our old hot rods, but my camera is having a hard time dealing with the engine noise.

  • Ford's 300 was the best gas inline 6 ever offered. I own 3 of them lol,

and one is going into my '37 rat rod project

  • @FordManMT Stop dumping on other peoples choice of engine. Enjoy your ford, i am happy for you. Respect others and their choice of engine. We are all in this together. GM, ford, what ever man its all good. Be happy.

  • @261longstroke i wasent "dumping" on his choice of engine. we have a 1954 chevy with a 235 inline 6. I just love the 300 because its nice, great low end power. Just like the 235, but bigger

  • @FordManMT id rather the 235 myself, but just because the ford 300 is more common...

im a chevy fan and in this case with an open engine bay, id rather the slant 6... just cause it looks more crazy lol

  • @FordManMT I'm a Ford guy, and have properly built one in the past, but, your facts need a little adjusting, GMC built a 302, and IH went all the way up to 501 CID.

  • i want a rat rod so bad

  • I love to drive and the ability to see things moving, turning.

  • what is the thickness of the chassi frame?

  • does it pull pretty good with the I6 ?

  • Yes, it does go pretty decent. It weighs 2400 lbs IIRC so its not bad for a stock 235.

  • nice

  • very nice

  • I've been looking at old rods on youtube for 2 years now. .this is STILL my overall favorite. what a beauty. Hope I can build my 32 half this well. speaking of inliners.. I'm keeping the 1932 194 cu in first generation stovebolt!

  • drum brakes all around,or did u upgrade it?

  • Its only 2200 lbs- the drums stop it really well.

  • rochester carbs?

  • dude look to the fun its brokaing

fax it and need more and more

    good luck

  • nothin like a rodded inline 6 ups the cool factor

  • love the straight six, dont see too many of those anymore

  • cool ride want to build something

    similar smart

  • Is that a freaking vacuum gauge right on the intake manifold?

  • Fuel pressure gauge off the back of the fuel line.

  • Your vehicle warranty is about to expire!

  • BUY AMERICAN YES SIR!!!

Sir can we please get a 2 year later update? Great JOB!!!

  • i like the music...by GMC and the 6 pak

    ..chuckle

  • dude crank that shit i wanna hear it!!!

  • Why don´t put it on higher rpm?

It must sound like hell! :D

  • The GMC striaght 6 is a slow revving torquer, not made for high RPM.

  • This put a real big smile in my face! What is that gauge by the intake manifold, a temp. gauge?

  • Good! It's a Fuel pressure gauge.

  • T5 and a 3.08 final? i bet you get up around mach .95 before it tops out.

that thing talks dirty. . . very nice!

  • I like the plane yoke steering wheel, that is really cool.

  • Thanks, but its actually the original with a section removed for clutch leg clearance, in driving, its over the left leg.

  • Nice! nothing sounds better than a stovebolt

  • nice

  • did you pass M.O.T?

sweet ride =) i like oldschool

  • In the future, we'll all be driving rat rods.

  • I wish my future would hurry up and get here!

  • sweet video

  • what is the difference between a hot rod and a rat rod?

  • Hot rods are shinny more "modern classic". Rat rods are balls and bones with flat or no paint. The real "vintage".

  • That is one beautiful hunk of iron right there... Thanks!

  • I'm looking at getting a '76 Chevy g10 shorty van with a 250 inline and a 3-speed on the floor. I'd love to do some mild performance work like headers, a cam, 4 barrell intake with a 390 holley and stuff like that. It would probably be just as easy and cost effective to drop in a small-block chevy, but where's the fun in that? Everybody has those.

  • @KHearse87 I hope it has/had the head with the bolt-on intake.

  • I love inline 6's. Good job on not going the common cookie-cutter 350 small block option for your ride.

I had a ford fairmont with a 200 ci inline 6, and that engine was indestructible, even with one cylinder with low compression. Plus, it was easy to work on.

  • gotta respect a guy for not going with an oh so common 350. Nothing worng with a reliable six!

  • @retroolschool: I agree, 350 ci chevy engines are way too common on a hotrod. I like the inline 6 idea. But I f you wanna stay a V8 dude, dont use a 350. I would use a 429 Cobra Jet on my hotrod.

  • @retroolschool I could not agree more.

  • @retroolschool I hear ya man! You see a 350 at every stop sighn and it is nothing amazing. It's great to see something different for a change. I have a 39 International with a 351 W and it'll tear it up!

  • @retroolschool ain'ts you twich ain'ts you itch we ain't no bitch

  • read the title jmz

  • Hey! WHAT KIND OF TRANNY are you running?

  • T5 from an S10! Swap meet special! Thanks for looking!

  • T5's are great my dads got one in his blazer, thats thing looks like a blast!!

  • Sixes RULE!! i love my 202!

  • No, it's a 235 out of a '62 wagon. He mentioned it earlier.

Still very cool. Any changes yet?

  • felicitaciones!!!!!!!!!!

  • can some one pleeeeeeees to god help me find a rat rod i neeeeed one very badly lol

  • Build one

  • Sixes rule! I have a Ford 300 inline 6 in my 65' Ford van, it's a mean-ass motor!!

  • yea fords sixs are fuckin bullet proof!!!!!!!!

  • i just love this car and engine i maybe played this video 300 times every time i go on you tube i play it my 235 is getting ther will post one day

  • LOL

  • @flubbergut13 Yeah right.

  • inline six power!!!it can go at 10,000rpm my 250 did it and still alive!

  • Except with the torque inline 6's make, you don't need to rev them that high to make power. haha good job anyway must've been a sight to see. :D

  • i know about that i mean it didn´t blow the engine, a friend of mine have one with 500 hp and no turbo ,just three webber 48-48 carburators.

  • show di bola esse tren ai

  • inline tower of power8-)

  • Straight six all the way.

  • Mate, thats 1 mint rat. gotta luv it, keep posting the vids.

  • Now that's music to my ears! Nothing sounds better than a loud inline 6!

  • Nice sound. Wonder what a 302 GMC would sound like...

  • I keep telling him a homebuilt turbo setup sounds like a fun way to change it.

  • cool. i bet a bad coolant leak would screw up your day. lol let's hope not. I can relate.. with our old t bucket. love watchin the inside of those front tires go around.

  • What an awesome sounding six.

  • Not this is my idea of a car!

Cleaning is something you do when it gets so dirty you cant see through the screen. The rest gets a dose of a hose when you got nothing better to do.

  • nice view and vid love the sound

  • oh man i love that sound!!!!

  • Nice...is that a 250 or 292? What 5 spd did you use, S-10 T-5? Cool rod. I'm doing a '47 Chevy with 250 L6 and Sag 4 spd.

  • Thanks-

    Its a'62 235 out of a wagon mated to an S-10 T-5.

I have to get a better vid of him actually getting on it, he was going easy on it there.

  • drifter!!!

  • Love the sound from a big inline six, much better than a V8!

  • i love it my 1964 impala will be a rat rod

  • That's sweet 8D
