have this, great figure.was just over on the palace of star wars forum and in the section on the vintage collection there is a pic of some figures from the phantom menace wave, and i mean the actuall figures, not an artists impression of what they might look like, and there is a sales reciept from a target store in the pic so it looks like they might have been released
By the way, I saw images of this figure at RebelScrum dot come and how come his top coat and his lower skirt bottom comes in to different color? And then the hood is plastic. Why can Hasbro make his coat all in one piece using soft goods. Does your figure has two different color top and bottom too? Is it noticeable? I wonder if they will fix this problem because it is still doesn't look perfect yet account to the images at Rebelscrum. What's your take?
How do you open yr cards FLY? it looks like you do it similar to me. Do you slide a sharp knife under the bubble as close to the card asyou can get? But you only do 3/4 and leave the bubble on? I use to leave the bubble on like that, so i can put a figure back on the card if i want to, but ive dumped that idea now and just totally remove the bubble +keep the vintage cards, as keeps sake. But they'll probably go in the trash after ive looked at them enough times, just like all my previous cards.
@flyguydotnet ohh cool tnx Fly. Yeah its good that we can get the figure out, but also put it back on the card, if yu like, so yu can hang them on the wall etc etc, and they still look MOC.
@royalDJjamie you could do what i do....buy 2 of any figure you want, that way you can have 1 open on display and still keep the other carded, okay i know thats not to everyones taste but just an idea
Sidious is the only figure ive not seen on the pegs at retail, so someone likes him. I was lucky to get one cheap from some1 selling there collection. Only $8 aussie bux. And hes a pretty cool figure. Hes grown on me, since i got him. Im considering dying his lower cape black, because i just think it will look better, reguardless of what color they say it is in the film.
i think he is cool, actually have 2 of him along with 2 of all the other vintage collection figures that i have.one to put on display and one to leave carded, although with the sand trooper i have 3.
And I must say you have a MASSIVE collection of Star Wars figures! I only started collecting since March 26th Last Year with my first purchase of a BX-Series Droid Commando (standard and still unopened in the box for me ;) )
@flyguydotnet Why thank you! I must still say I was humbled by your collection but you have a point! As of this year today I have increased my collection, with the IG-101 and the Clone Wars Magnaguards my personal shines of my collection, in addition to my unopened Palpatine as well!
Good Luck with the Collection of MORE figures of the future buddy!
@HeirofGojira91 Cheers! Not as big as some, but about about the quantity, more just about what you like yourself... You can afford to be picky but I'm sure your collectino will grow quickly!
Fuck you lucky bastard!! I went to Wal-mart to find that very figure.. It was sold out :[.. I got Anakin, general Greevious, and clone commander Cody instead.
You're right, he does look like a zombie. I picked pinup since I'm kinda new at collecting star wars figures and I didn't have one before. Thanks Flyguy!
@flyguydotnet I bought my very first Vintage Collection Darth Sidious last month :) And apparently not to mention 2010 marked the very first time Darth Sidious himself appeared on his original card package for many collectors. I know you don't care but for my part I have no intention of opening my Darth Sidious for investment purposes (and sell in him the future like a 1980's Boba Fett :D) I cannot still deny though Darth Sidious has and will continue to make his mark within the future.
@HeirofGojira91 Hey H! Thanks for commenting, hey it's your collection and what you do with it is up to you. I always love hearing from other collectors and what they do with figures, so your probably right it was a fairly unique release. And is now one we cannnot find easily in stores so think you may be on to something!
@flyguydotnet And yes...I bought my Vintage Palpatine/Sidious just before Xmas last month and the price went down from nearly 20 AUD down to just under 15 AUD...hehe...But yes a Vintage Palpatine - I had the same feeling as you when I first saw him around October 6th-7th - a What On Earth feeling for him being released and also not to mention there was a site showing how people reacted to their purchases of him - compared to the IG-102 Magnaguard around 30-40% went like WTFUBAR?
