I grew up hearing about it daily, and saw its effects on my parents' hope and idealism. I also think that John Taylor Gatto's discussion of our schools' underlying purpose exposes a big part of the problem. I'd like to know if Dr Cook has read Gatto's work, and how she sees her efforts in that context.
