British hardcore/anarcho punk... The Exploited, Discharge, Charged GBH, Conflict, Crass, Oi Polloi, Vice Squad, UK Subs, Subhumans, The Restarts... to name but a few.

Gallows certainly aren't the first. Punk's been around in Britain since at least 1976, a tiny minority of which is pop punk.
