Looks like a great idea. Will this be civ available anytime soon? Would like one for my car. I shoot WAY mire accurately with a stock, even with pistol rounds.

ARES FMG came out in the 80s.
Was used in the movie "Robocop 2".

The gun used in Robocop 2 was one of 8 custom made folders built by a guy named Boatman. It is not the same as the Ares gun or the Russian PP90. The Magpul design is significantly different in the following ways:
1. Can be opened with one hand
2. Fires from closed bolt (not open bolt)
3. Does not need to be cocked after unfolding
4. Polymer construction
It's modular rail design will allow use of either a G17 or G18 slide.

No, the G18 slide run different width rails to a G17 slide. You would need one of those G17 aull auto conversions which aren't legal for civilians.

Yes, your right that the G18 slide rails are different then other Glocks and can not be interchanged, but when you said the "auto conversions aren't legal for civilians", you incorrect. It is a general misconception that civilians can not own full automatics in the US, when they absolutely CAN. You need only a class 3 or collectors licence, which many civilians do own. Fact: MOST "full" auto's are owned by non-law-enforcement, regular US citizens.

Unless you are a SOT or in LEO civvies haven't been able to do conversions since 1986. Technically, he is right. Non SOT/LEOs cannot own/possess any F/A made after 86.

I never said full auto wasn't legal, I did say it was illegal to convert a Glock. All full autos had to be registered prior to 1986, converting a gun today is illegal unless you're a SOT or LEO as mentioned below.

Yes, I understand your point. But you first said "auto conversions which aren't legal for civilians.". I never said physically converting a weapon to full auto was legal, But owning a legally converted automatic that has certified paper work, is, IF said civie has the proper licences and approval docs from the ATF.
