@breakinknucklesruler thanks mate, i changed the part in bleed a bit because i already covered the entire song earlier. check it out and let me know what you think
This is tottaly bad ass. Love hearing hte drums prominently and rocking out.. although its funny by listening to this youtube video I kinda realized that Meshuggah is a song. A pretty cool and different song. But basically a song :).
Realllly impressive! Very good work! I find it almost impossible to play one whole song from the album and you do a medley of the whole album! :D How long do you play drums?
I was in a recording studio when one of the best drummers on the East Coast of showed me this video. Mesmerizing skills man. That must have been insane to play for 14 minutes straight! Keep up the GREAT work!
What surprises me most is that you'r able to do the feetwork of the bleed song by Meshuggah, yet you'r not doing the slow parts right, something is off, it's just not sounding good. You'r clumsier when you play slower then when you play faster O.o. Weird.
Yo youtube! I'm an independent music video director, have just finished a video for extreme metal band Kinasis, personally i think they sound like a scatty version of Meshuggah. Help a brother out and like the video/sub?
simply awsome man!!! just impeccable, i¨m speechlees.. only one coment if you allow me: i think in the Pravus track, Thomas doesnt play constant double bass.
One of the best parts of this video is how Obzen has been so artfully mixed down to the best 15 minutes. I definitely start to zone out quickly on that record -- it's so long and it starts to sound kind of samey to me. Oh yeah, and of course, excellently played.
Listening to Meshuggah and their crazy progressive time signatures is astounding enough, but then actually seeing all the little ghost hits and background cymbals just makes me respect them, and yourself even more. It's just unreal.
Love the camera angles and the kick drum cam in the corner. As someone who loves watching drummers play, this video is pretty close to perfect for seeing what's going on.
your drumming skills are downright out of this world. I myself am a developing drummer and hope to be at your level in a few years?? haha who knows. take care and keep that rhythm flowin!
you're just awesome drummer.so simple as it here.!!!!big congratulation from my side to you bro.i really love meshuggah.they are my inspiration about music/drumming.keep it up.
Playing the vocal patterns on your snare during "Bleed" made my day haha. The original poly-rhythm wasn't hard enough with a back beat on 2 and 4. You created a layer to make it harder LOL. You are awesome man. I really enjoyed this.
Anyone else notice how his snare looks like an eyeball on the overhead shots? Also, this is awesome. Great job. Subscribed to the lessons channel and will definitely be working on some of that stuff. It's much appreciated!
When the Eletric Red and Lethargica mix came I got so hammer-smashed in the face that I pressed subscribe only to realize that I am already subscribed.. (True story!)
@tezropunkel with all do respect man, the technical nature of this type of music is not always going to be soulful. In metal drumming, you have to be precise and hit every not correctly. With that said, I think this guy shows plenty of passion with his drumming by the fact that he's even able to perform such music feats.
Near impossible to come up with something to complain about here. One thing I would have liked to have heard was the guitar solo section from This Spiteful Snake as that's one of my favorite rhythmic pieces on the album. Doesn't take anything away from this masterpiece you've created though mate.
I'm a massive Meshuggah fan, and this is by far the best drum cover I've heard on YouTube. You have a great sense of rhythm and you clearly look like you're enjoying what you're doing! I've checked out some of your other videos and the way you break songs down into easily digestible parts is really helpful! Who wouldn't want to be your student if you got to learn 'Bleed'? Keep rocking dude!
I love coming across covers like this. Meshuggha is really complex stuff, and you pull it off with such a smooth feel. This is incredibly inspiring. I hope to one day develop the technique to perform at your level.
Great work and a well compiled medley. I don't know if you've done it already, but a medley on Fredrik Thordendahls solo project "Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects" and the album "Sol Niger Within" where he teams up with the great drummer Morgan Ågren would be interesting to hear. Just a suggestion.
man I don't remember if I had already commented on this video, but dude YOU TOTALLY ROCK. First of all, I am a drummer too and I got to admire your stability and consistency. Second, you play the songs LIKE A BOSS. Third, your kit sounds AMAZING, especially the snare...Man keep up the good work...got to admit that I watch this video everyday.
