  • Sick dude - SICK!

  • I noticed you kept the 12" on the right. The way Haake does it. It was a great medley too.

  • liked it all except what you did to bleed with the snare that was pretty bad

  • @breakinknucklesruler thanks mate, i changed the part in bleed a bit because i already covered the entire song earlier. check it out and let me know what you think

  • Nice dude.

  • Soooooo good man. Unbelievable skill.

  • great job man.. you nailed all of them.... i can guess how much energy you spent by training all of them... great.....

only thing, your snare sounds and looks too deep, maybe you can change it to higher pitch.

  • I really hope Meshuggah sees this and like brings you with them on their next tour or something haha, that would be the coolest thing ever.

  • i could do this if i had the endurance of a kangaroo

  • This is tottaly bad ass. Love hearing hte drums prominently and rocking out.. although its funny by listening to this youtube video I kinda realized that Meshuggah is a song. A pretty cool and different song. But basically a song :).

  • Stellar. Love the transitions dude!

  • beautiful mechanics my brotha

  • accenting the vocals in Bleed.....awesome!

  • My god mate... this is spectacular! I love how you accent the vocal rhythm in bleed. Your cymbal set up is immaculate as well! Cheers!

  • i bow to you. fantastic, man.

  • Really enjoyed this. Great job on fitting the songs together as well.

  • @Zactrou thanks man

  • You know that you are good when you can pull of a Messhugah Medley on drums! Awesome work!

  • Is that a Fierce crash on your right? You did an amazing job on Bleed! Cheers!

  • @wykisz no it's an 18 legacy crash. I updated the gear in the description mate

  • Perfection

  • absolute joy to watch. Great work.

  • you dont play pravus correctly. doesnt matter that much, but everytime he hits a snare he doesnt kick the bassdrum :D

  • fuck this is amazing

  • Once You Hit "Bleed", I Subscribed xD

  • Yo you are sick!!!!!! Fuckn well played!!!

  • What are you ? :D

Realllly impressive! Very good work! I find it almost impossible to play one whole song from the album and you do a medley of the whole album! :D How long do you play drums?

  • Brilliant, really impressive performance that deserves a ton more view than 61K+. Well done mate!

  • @Turco949 Thanks man, I had a lot of fun working on this video!

  • Nice job with the footwork on Bleed!

  • This is a conspiracy.......... O_O

  • Not only is this some great drumming, I do really like the way you've cut the songs up for the medley too!

  • Wow, I watched the whole video... You're awesome!

  • Very nice, but the Pravus bass drum line is totally incorrect. The rest, amazing :D

  • your feet action is just... superhuman

  • I was in a recording studio when one of the best drummers on the East Coast of showed me this video. Mesmerizing skills man. That must have been insane to play for 14 minutes straight! Keep up the GREAT work!

  • What surprises me most is that you'r able to do the feetwork of the bleed song by Meshuggah, yet you'r not doing the slow parts right, something is off, it's just not sounding good. You'r clumsier when you play slower then when you play faster O.o. Weird.

  • Do you cut the videos yourself?

  • SO COOL

  • Fuck yes!!

  • Awesome.

  • Yo youtube! I'm an independent music video director, have just finished a video for extreme metal band Kinasis, personally i think they sound like a scatty version of Meshuggah. Help a brother out and like the video/sub?

  • Being able to play Haake is worthy of some sort of congressional medal, diploma or something.. o_O

  • So close at 10:37 - 10:38 ! Love you ♥

  • china sounds nice, which one is that

  • omg love your snare sound !

  • very impressive playing. did you play it all in one take or is it mixed together from different recordings? i like your take on bleed

  • extremely good mate!!! I love how you're ''nails'' your snare...

  • Dude Wright!! hahaha that Kidman synchronised snare in Bleed is totally how I covered it too!! Wavelength man!! \m/

  • BRAVO TROY WRIGHT ! to play meshuggah its not easy ! brilliant work with you tightness and drumsound!! and again : BRAVISSSMOOO!!!! \m/

  • what kind of china cymbal is this?

is it sabian paragon 16" ??

  • tight as fuck man!

  • Good work man, this is incredible.

  • i dont even play drums and i like this, you are a great drummer

  • GOD

  • i'm wondering what kind of person would dislike this video..

  • What program do you use to remove the original percussion and ad your own?

  • @nik799news i never do mate... i've just cut the original songs up and mixed my performance over the top

  • why am i just finding your channel!! this shit is amazing!

  • Very inspiring clip! Groovy, loose yet full of intensity. Keep up the great work!

  • @Wildoerfaren thanks man. pretty much the reason i enjoy Tomas Haake actually!

  • excellent work, mate.

  • Hi what overhead mics are you using? Great playing. Any band that you are in? Keep up the good work. Thanks.

  • @SihaGhoda AKG 414's i think

  • For sure one of the most amazing drummer on youtube, and nice set of Sabian by the way !!

  • one of the best drummers ive ever heard amazing

  • Real natural drummer, you don't get many of these. To many fucking guitarists these days...

  • fuck yeah man epic

  • AWWWWWWWW SHIT!!!!! BEAST DUDE!!!!

  • Superb job. Just curious, why do you put a smaller mounted tom on the right hand side?

  • Wow! Really inspiring man! Gonna go practice haha

  • Watched this whole video with my mouth open, didn't realize it until the insanity wore off.

  • Dude, you are completely insane.

  • Absolutely amazing job well done

  • Fucking bad ass man!

  • Holy shit, look at your feet! That's sick...your stamina must been insane. I'd die after a few measures of that.

  • one of the best meshuugah covers on youtube!

  • simply awsome man!!! just impeccable, i¨m speechlees.. only one coment if you allow me: i think in the Pravus track, Thomas doesnt play constant double bass.

    keep on, great work

  • One of the best parts of this video is how Obzen has been so artfully mixed down to the best 15 minutes. I definitely start to zone out quickly on that record -- it's so long and it starts to sound kind of samey to me. Oh yeah, and of course, excellently played.

  • what microphone do you have for snare? and sorry for bad english.--

  • @mompfreed1 He has a Shure SM57 on the top of the snare, not sure what he's using on the bottom, and one for each rack tom.

  • Excellent.....very good with songs of MESHUGGAH.

  • Listening to Meshuggah and their crazy progressive time signatures is astounding enough, but then actually seeing all the little ghost hits and background cymbals just makes me respect them, and yourself even more. It's just unreal.

  • absolutely fucking nailed it. respect.

  • Djent !

  • yes

  • Sick! nuf said!

  • holy shit.

  • Love the camera angles and the kick drum cam in the corner. As someone who loves watching drummers play, this video is pretty close to perfect for seeing what's going on.

  • this video put smile on my face! really nice

  • Thomas Haake would be damn proud...Unless he's already seen this:) Then he IS damn proud.

  • go pro hd hero? or not?!?

  • 8 dislikes seems like they cant play it

  • Any ideas how he keeps his left bass drum pedal from moving? My keeps getting pushed back as I play :(

  • How much has the drum set cost you all up?

  • incredible, brother... very nicely compiled medley. ingenious meshing of the Electric Red outro and Lethargica. you're an inspiration. :)

  • your drumming skills are downright out of this world. I myself am a developing drummer and hope to be at your level in a few years?? haha who knows. take care and keep that rhythm flowin!

  • Awesome man! Do you know Mudvayne?

  • you're just awesome drummer.so simple as it here.!!!!big congratulation from my side to you bro.i really love meshuggah.they are my inspiration about music/drumming.keep it up.

  • sick dude

  • That was awesome

  • Hey dude, it´s a stave drum, your snare??

  • is much like thomas lang, really play like a pro, I hope you are lucky enough to play in a big band.

    from Argentina.

  • 8 people are jealous!!

  • Can I ask, how tight are your springs on your pedals? And also, after making a hit with your pedal, how do you get the beater to stay on the head?

  • hahahaha fark hows the transition from combustion to bleed, your skills are unreal dude!

  • Awesome medley, I loved the way you played Bleed and the Electric Red/Lethargica transition was just flawless!

By the way, have you heard the new Meshuggah song that was leaked? What do you think of it?

  • @TheGreyMan93 Love it man. Can't wait for the album!

  • Pretty fucking sick, stay brutal. Waiting on the ungodly koloss, the soundtrack for the end of the world.

  • hey man! Whats that china? That thong sounds great! Great job job dude

  • this man is infected with awesome

  • lol

as if bleed wasn't hard enough to play, you synchronised the snare with the vocals.

    you are a machine.

  • Excellent job. I finally have my first meshuggah song down and I'm excited.

  • that was cool how u combined the end of electric red and the beginning of lethargica

  • Unreal man, you should be proud!

  • dude, could you do some between the buried and me please?? would be nice! thanks

  • Can you give a lesson on your double kid technique?

  • You make me want to throw down my sticks and quit, and yet pick them up and play!

  • Why type of in-ear monitors do you use?

  • wright drums because its so right!!!! fantastic video love the performance man kudos

  • This is pretty impressive stuff.

  • I have a question, does the double bass play the same patterns that the guitars play most of the time on here?

  • @pr0llyn0t Yea im sure they do. Not 100% but im sure thats how most polyrhythm's when used like this work. Kick pattern following the guitar pattern.

  • 'Shuggah drumming in 1080p? Yes please!

  • Is there a version of this video without the back track; just the drums alone? I would love to hear it!

  • Playing the vocal patterns on your snare during "Bleed" made my day haha. The original poly-rhythm wasn't hard enough with a back beat on 2 and 4. You created a layer to make it harder LOL. You are awesome man. I really enjoyed this.

  • Anyone else notice how his snare looks like an eyeball on the overhead shots? Also, this is awesome. Great job. Subscribed to the lessons channel and will definitely be working on some of that stuff. It's much appreciated!

  • Awesome medley man, not to mention the playing... love the part at 7:25, wasn't expecting it!

  • When the Eletric Red and Lethargica mix came I got so hammer-smashed in the face that I pressed subscribe only to realize that I am already subscribed.. (True story!)

    Fucking well done Troy!

  • the only thing more impressive is thomas haake himself

  • Comment removed

  • This is more than impressive. Wow.

  • How did you memorise all of this? o.0

  • SO. Fucking. Sick

All of my props to you, sir

  • your drums and cymbals sound sick, nice choice of gear.

  • @tezropunkel with all do respect man, the technical nature of this type of music is not always going to be soulful. In metal drumming, you have to be precise and hit every not correctly. With that said, I think this guy shows plenty of passion with his drumming by the fact that he's even able to perform such music feats.

  • Near impossible to come up with something to complain about here. One thing I would have liked to have heard was the guitar solo section from This Spiteful Snake as that's one of my favorite rhythmic pieces on the album. Doesn't take anything away from this masterpiece you've created though mate.

  • Is that Pearl Eliminator pedals you have there?

  • Great technique.

No soul put into drumming, sorry.

  • Hell yes.

  • The lead into Bleed afdgadjfg;jadf holy shit

  • I'm a massive Meshuggah fan, and this is by far the best drum cover I've heard on YouTube. You have a great sense of rhythm and you clearly look like you're enjoying what you're doing! I've checked out some of your other videos and the way you break songs down into easily digestible parts is really helpful! Who wouldn't want to be your student if you got to learn 'Bleed'? Keep rocking dude!

  • Awesome man!

  • This guy can easily fill in for Meshuggah

  • Nice!! I really liked the way you mixed "Electric red" and "Lethargica", it really gave me a wide smile on my face. Keep up the good work. Peace!!

  • It's Like the Thomas Lang!!!

  • I love coming across covers like this. Meshuggha is really complex stuff, and you pull it off with such a smooth feel. This is incredibly inspiring. I hope to one day develop the technique to perform at your level.

  • Flawless piece of work!

  • That was intense.

  • great!!!!! greatings from croatia

  • Yo guy, combining the end of electric red and beginning of lethargica is absolutely amazing ! Congrat's !

  • Great work and a well compiled medley. I don't know if you've done it already, but a medley on Fredrik Thordendahls solo project "Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects" and the album "Sol Niger Within" where he teams up with the great drummer Morgan Ågren would be interesting to hear. Just a suggestion.

  • if meshuggah ever needed a fill in drummer under some crazy circumstance, they need 2 hook you up. you nail it right on time.

  • The vocal-tiimed snare in Bleed felt weird at fisrt, but when I got used to it I realized how original and tight you are. Great work!

  • man I don't remember if I had already commented on this video, but dude YOU TOTALLY ROCK. First of all, I am a drummer too and I got to admire your stability and consistency. Second, you play the songs LIKE A BOSS. Third, your kit sounds AMAZING, especially the snare...Man keep up the good work...got to admit that I watch this video everyday.

  • I love how you still keep time with your left foot even when it's on your slave pedal :D

  • can you do a weightless medley????

  • you can cleary see is right hand is very muscular (btw i love to watch this videos)

  • Wow, that beat at 13:30 is ridiculously awesome.

  • Alright alright. Those extra snare notes in Bleed - fucking genius. Love your work man. Very inspiring. New album in March! Soundwave!

    -Tom from Adelaide

  • hey just wondering, of all the stuff you can play, what is the most challenging?

  • @thomasstunts Animals as Leaders!

  • @wrightdrums covers?

  • @wrightdrums try toto

  • @wrightdrums Animals is totally sick live. They rip space a new backhole. Great work on the Meshuggah Troy. You're a stud.

  • 6:16 to 6:27 .... holy shit man

  • damn! that transition from bleed to electric red was spot on!

  • what beaters are you using on your pedals??

  • So you can mimic every bandmember's part with your drums.. big fucking deal.. really, that's a big deal! very nice playing man..

  • This probably qualifies you to be Meshuggah's back-up drummer.

  • that setup sounds so nice, the whole kit/cymbals sounds perfect! what china do you use? also, what snare/snare head do u have? the snare sounds amazing

  • beast mode. great drum covers mate.
